S79684104 - booked two pallets and paid extra for a pre 3pm collection - driver was late and refused entry. The following day the driver also didn't make the collection even though the reference was quoted on the booking and confirmed to Nikki. We were then charged a surcharge for the driver failing to collect. I have emailed Nikki and Sue three times to be reimbursed for the early charge we paid (driver was late) however haven't had a response. Very quick to send a surcharge invoice though! I think that confirms we won't be using this service again

Hi Hannah, I’m very sorry your last three emails didn’t reach the team. I’ve located them in our spam filter and released them now. Are you using an online platform to send emails? Sometimes these can trigger spam filters. We aim to reply to all emails as quickly as possible, so if you ever feel we haven’t responded, please jump on live chat to confirm we’ve received it. I apologise for any inconvenience this caused. Looking into your booking, it appears there was an initial misunderstanding. You booked a morning delivery slot but intended to book a morning collection. To accommodate this, we switched the booking to a pre-3pm collection service, which is a separate offering. On 12/11, the driver arrived at 11:20 am, but the collection point required an RMA reference, which was not provided with the booking. When we contacted you, you gave us a name instead of the reference, and the collection point refused to release the goods. This resulted in a failed collection surcharge being applied. Because we retrospectively updated the booking to a pre-3pm collection, the depot did not have this change reflected in their internal systems. This caused the driver to arrive just after 3 pm on the second attempt. While this was a system issue beyond our control, we take full responsibility for the delay. The goods were successfully collected the following day without further issues. To make up for the inconvenience, we upgraded the delivery to a next-day service at no extra cost. I will also refund the pre-3pm collection charge now as a gesture of goodwill. Again, I apologise for the email issue and any frustration caused. Our support team is committed to timely responses, and we understand how vital our service is to you. Large, unexpected surcharge spoiled the experience. Because the shipment was unfortunately collected on its side, I was charged an over-size pallet excess of almost £90 which doubled the original shipment fee! After several emails with Nicki, she kindly asked management to halve the surcharge (but we still paid £44.40, which was an additional 50% on top of the original shipping cost, for a mistake that was beyond our control. Whilst I appreciate the gesture of reducing the surcharge, it has still left our "not for profit" nature volunteering group, out of pocket.

Hi Russell, Thank you for sharing your detailed experience; I understand the frustration over the surcharge, especially given the unique nature of your pallet delivery. Here are a few key points to consider: The surcharge was applied because the goods were collected wider than the booked pallet size, which required additional costs as it took up extra space on our vehicles within the pallet network, preventing other pallets from being loaded into that space. To support your not-for-profit group, we arranged a 50% reduction on this surcharge, recognising the circumstances you were in and aiming to lessen the financial impact. We were happy to operate at a loss to help with the situation as much as possible. The initial booking selected an incorrect pallet size for the items (logs without a structural base). We didn’t palletise the goods ourselves; this was done at the collection point, over which we had no control, but we still did our best to assist. While this was an unfortunate situation, we value your feedback and appreciate your understanding of the steps we took to help reduce the expense for your group.

I was not completely happy with the service i received.The driver was not a permanent one and not very happy on arrival itself and really struggled to load the pallets properly, And had several bags were damaged on delivery and we lost price for it

This was the first time I'd booked a pallet courier. My delivery ended up arriving damaged with the result I lost £1300. I'm sure the reply to this review will explain that it was my fault for booking the wrong pallet, but I wonder why the driver who collected my items instructed the builders on site to load them onto the wrong pallet, if he knew they wouldn't fit and it would ruin them. I'd have expected him to advise that the wrong size had been booked so I could have rebooked the delivery. Also paid for 2 pallets, 1 not used. Short version - Pallet Online wrecked my delivery and took no responsibility whatsoever. I've just moved into a new house so the money I've lost has had a huge impact.

In this case, the damage occurred because the items overhung from the pallet, causing them to bend under their own weight, which is unfortunately beyond our control and arises from the loading setup at the collection point. I do feel that a 1-star rating may not reflect the situation accurately, as the issue wasn’t due to our actions. The driver asigned to the collection decided that he didn't want to do the collection At the end of the day I was advised that there were too many car so he couldn't make the collection. Had he had the courtesey to phone me I could have easily moved the item to a to a more suitable part of the road as the item was on my trailer. The second driver of a 'smaller vehicle' (the following day) was extremely helpful and told me that both vehicles are the same width, the vehicle from the first day just being longer. It meant that I had to stay home for two full days to accomodate the collection, when I had other important things to be getting on with!
