Hi Christopher. Most roof bars are rolled at manufacture to create this curve as it allows them to take more weight/ downward force. Without the curve, the Max weight limit would be a lot less. Hope this helps. Kind regards.

“Really good product for the price and appreciate the installation video sent which really helped. Fitted to my 2018 Ford Ranger which has a flat roof and I had been looking all over the place for a decent product that’s affordable and looks good. This did tick those boxes. My only criticism would be the plastic bracket cover fixings could be better, they come with a plastic flathead insert which you need to turn to fix the cover but unfortunately are pretty flimsy and round off when fixing. This doesn’t take away from a good quality product though and well worth the money.”
