Hi Barry, Thanks for your review. Sorry that your vehicle didn't receive any offers. It is rare that a vehicle secures no offers, but can happen if there is limited interest within the network for your vehicle. In these cases we may suggested alternative avenues of sale so that you're not left without any further options in the event we can't find a buyer for the vehicle. In the vast majority of cases vehicles receive several offers, but as we advertise your car to a network of UK delaerships, this does depend on there being interest within the network for your make and model, with the specific condition, history, and specification of your individual vehicle. If things don't work out elsewhere, you're welcome to try us again in future to see if the market has shifted in your favour. Best regards, James Sales Support Team Senior
Don't deal with middlemen. I sell my car the good old fashioned way, that way I get the money I want for my car.

Hello, Thanks for your review. You are welcome to sell your car in any way you like, and where any customer would like more money for their car than we are offering, we advise exploring alternative avenues. If these don't work out, anyone is of course free to try us again later. Motorway is set up for people who want a fast, hassle-free way of selling their car. They can do this from their own home, secure an offer, and have the vehicle collected from their doorstep. Although this isn't the method everyone would prefer to use, for many people it saves time, avoids tyre kicking, and allows them to secure a great price for their car. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours. Best regards, James Sales Support Team Senior
The best price they said - full service history. Immaculate car, £5,558.00 was the best price. My car is now on the market for £8,390.00 Sick to the stomach !!!!! Disgusted utterly!!!! What customer service had to chase them every day!!!

Hi Vanessa, Thanks for your review. Sorry that you weren't happy with the final offer you received. Motorway connects you with dealerships across the UK, so the prices we offer are the trade price of your vehicle, not the retail price. Dealership retail prices include collection costs and fees, forecourt and staffing overheads, and help to cover the warranty and servicing packages dealerships offer with their cars. The retail price is also often inflated by dealerships to account for negotiation with any potential buyers. This substantially reduces the apparent margin by the time the car is sold. If you have any feedback regarding the service you recieved, please contact us on 020 3988 3388 or salessupport@motorway.co.uk. Best regards, James Sales Support Team Senior
Waste of time. Was given an online offer for my car which I was happy with (over £100k). I was then told to send in pics and other information. I later find out that Motorway list the car for sale on theirs site for dealers to bid on. They rang me to say they could only offer £92k, which I reluctantly accepted. Their online valuation was higher just to get people to list their cars. The dealer contacted me to arrange collection, they wanted to take the car and get their accounts to send payment to the finance company the following day. I was not happy with this and the sale fell through. Sold the car to a main dealer who offered more. The car was even paid for before collection. Much better service than motorway.

Hello, Thanks for your review. Sorry you were unhappy with the final offer you received. It is made clear throughout our advertising that we market your car to UK dealerships, as this is one of the key unique selling points of our service. Motorway bases your valuation on industry guide prices, live market data, and our previous sales history to predict what buyers are likely to pay for your car. In the vast majority of cases, offers match or exceed the valuation, but in some cases may come out lower. This may be due to recent changes in the market, a lack of interest in the car, or other factors our valuations have not taken into account. Most of our buyers do pay instantly at the point of collection, but there are a small handful of major main dealership groups with longer payment timeframes. This usually has to do with the scale of the organisation, which uses an accounts department who make their payments in daily rounds. If the vehicle is collected after the cut off point, payments may be delayed slightly. I'm sorry things didn't work out with Motorway this time, but we are glad you secured an alternative offer for the car. We wish you all the best going forward. Best regards, James Sales Support Team Senior
Zero response. A total waste of time After a two week wait still waiting for my vehicle valuation !!! J K

Hi John, Thanks for your review. Sorry you've had issues with contact. We have sent you a private message to request some details so we can look into this for you, and expedite your valuation. Please respond with a unique identifier such as the registration, phone number, or email you used to submit your valuation with us. Best regards, James Sales Support Team Senior
No joined up thinking, no customer service, complete lack of customer contact. Waste of time!!

Total waste of time using these guys. They sent cowboys to view my car who claimed the car has damages! Complete lies! No damages at all! Totally unprofessional after making me wait 4 hours. Even worse customer service agents on the phone totally unhelpful! Be prepared for a lie in reply that the car was damaged as it certainly isn’t and happy to provide as many pics as possible to prove the car isn’t damaged and is as described!

I sold my car through motorway and had a really good experience, car sold quickly and for a good price. I then suggested that my husband sell his car through them and it couldn't have been worse. The car was originally valued at over £1,200 and then was reduced to £1,000. He received an offer of £875 which he reluctantly accepted only for the 'dodgy dealer' to come and look at the car and subsequently mislead my husband into accepting an offer of £600 by telling him it had numerous faults. And also paid him in cash (which I understand is illegal). Then the day after we saw the car for sale on the dealer website for £2,500. My husband has emailed motorway numerous times to get no response.

motorway the service is very easy to… motorway the service is very easy to use and i was very happy with the price quoted but the buyer Marshall Volvo Grantham wanted to collect the car from your home address and then provide you with a purchase invoice so you have a record of the transaction taking place. It will then be delivered to one of their branches by a fully insured driver. You will receive payment within 24 hours. give my 32k van to someone on the on the strength of a piece of paper saying we will pay you in 24 hours. not for me.

Very poor. Wasted 2days of my time then the dealer pulled out before coming out to see the car. They had offered me just over £36k which I accepted and we agreed a collection date, then their buyer miraculously disappeared the morning before collection was due. They then offered me £34k. Consumer beware - I certainly wouldn’t will not use again.

Hi David, I'm very sorry that you had this experience when selling your car. Unfortunately, the original bid was withdrawn by the dealership, which we will be looking into to. We subsequently attempted to find you a new buyer, but were unsuccessful in matching the bid placed by the previous dealership. I apologise once again for the time you wasted, and that we were not able to find you an equivalent bid despite our best efforts. We wish you the best of luck selling elsewhere, and all the best going forward. Kind regards, James Motorway Aftersales Team
Be aware of the salami slicing tactics. They sweeten the deal with good initial offers and clever wording. Then you get stuff like, oh we are sorry this is the best offer we have had, "the market is saturated for this make and model, the offer is only valid until tonight and some nonesense about budgets". When the same sentence is stressed exactly 5x in short call you know what time it is. Have to hand it to them, great way to make some money. This is NaaS (Negotiation As A Service). For that they receive 5 stars for selling the car 1.

My £3000 car very low genuine mileage , you offer £895 don’t think so, then you say I could get a better price elsewhere , so why you offer £895 , disgusting

Extreme pressure and endless phone calls, messages and emails, despite me explaining my unavailability due to work. Not leaving me think or discuss offers.

Hi, I was extremely sad to see your review. Once we have the highest offer for your car, it is presented to you. This is time sensitive, as the dealership has allocated funds to your car and we need to let them know within the working day. We do contact you via WhatsApp if you are not available on the phone which we have found people respond to when they are not available to talk. I hope this goes some way to explain our process. As you can see, the majority of our reviews are very positive so I apologise if you felt our service pressured you in any way. I am sorry we were unable to meet your expectations on this occasion. If you would like to discuss further then please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards Emma Aftersales Manager aftersales@motorway.co.uk
Similar cars to mine are retailing at £2495 and you offered me £90 at the most. It has a full m.o.t, and masses of paperwork inc service history. You ask nothing extra about the cars you value.

Hi Dawn, I was very sad to see this poor review. We take pricing very seriously at Motorway. While retail prices are not always a good guide to the price you may receive from instant buyers, it sounds like you were incorrectly given a scrap price for your car on Motorway in this instance. This can sometimes happen in very rare circumstances where we are unable to value your car correctly online. Please accept my apologies here. Please email us at offers@motorway.co.uk and we will do all we can to help you find a better (and more accurate) price. Thanks, Alex, Director.
I'd rate Motorway 0 out of 5! Very disappointed! I was advised I'd get up to £21,202 for my car. This then dropped to £21,000 "because it was a diesel" - which was known of course when I put the details in. When I spoke with an adviser, I made it clear that the car wouldn't be available till towards the end of the month. I was subsequently advised that this £21k offer had been withdrawn and £20,700 was in its place. - Makes " makes 'webuyanycar' look very attractive! And oh, Motorway didn't sell the car in the end!

Hello, my name is Emma, the after sales Manager at Motorway. I was extremely sad to see this, we take customer experience extremely seriously, so this review is very concerning to me and is not the feedback we usually receive. We are a price comparison website offering a comparison experience from buyers in the market, we are 100% truthful and transparent in all we do. In fact, we introduced our own technology called TruePrice to reduce the chance of any "chipping" (price reductions). Honesty is a core value for us so I would like to apologise for your experience. Your description of events is not what we expect from any of our buyers and is not what we generally hear, I would like to apologise on this occasions as I believe there was a lack of communication between us and the buyer with regards to when you were available for collection. As a result, we are undertaking training with our sales team to ensure all collection details are clearly communicated with the buyer and agreed prior to the sale completion. I'm really sorry that we couldn't sell your car on this occasion. If you would like to discuss any further, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards Emma Aftersales Manager
Well I needed a laugh and got one... 10 month old ford transit 8700 miles on the clock... filled in the boxes and waited with baited breath for the quotes..... just over £12k for the first offer.... oh and the best offer £600 scrap!!!... you couldn’t make it up...

Hi Ivor, I'm sorry you were disappointed with your prices from Motorway. It's worth me pointing out that we are a price comparison engine and work with instant buyers across the market. Prices will be different to those you see on retail platforms like Auto Trader and eBay, but the experience is can be much faster. That said, while we do not control our partners' guide prices, we take pricing very seriously and aim for accurate instant purchase prices at all times. To help improve the pricing experience for all our users, we launched our own technology called TruePrice to reduce the chances of price shocks for sellers on the day of sale. You can read more about that here: https://motorway.co.uk/guides/trueprice Also - on the prices you received.... We work with a range of buyers - from the UK's top franchise dealerships, to online car buyers to scrap buyers and there will always be price differentials. As your car is worth much more than the scrap value, we would not expect you to choose that option - and hence that price (when sorted on amounts) was at the bottom of the table. It sounds like you believe your car is worth more than £12,000. If you would like to discuss pricing further, please email us at offers@motorway.co.uk and we will do all we can to help. Thanks, Alex, Director.
I have never seen the blatant use of corporate thievery so obvious before. 2014 BMW X1 xdrive 55000 miles full service and immaculate £7000 You ought to be ashamed of yourselves ripping off the public like you are doing. Will avoid “Motorway’s“ referrals at all costs. We would be better off putting a sign in the car window on the roadside.

Dear Robert, Apologies your prices were not as expected. It's worth pointing out we are a price comparison site and present prices from our partner car buyers in the market. The guide prices are not controlled by us. We are certainly not corporate thieves and gain nothing from ripping off customers by presenting low prices in our comparison tables. We take pricing very seriously and do all we can to present the highest prices possible. It sounds like something went wrong here. If you need more help, please email us at offers@motorway.co.uk and we will do what we can to help. Thanks, Lauren Taylor, Customer Support.
Valued the car (via the reg No.) £8k plus then offered £7k because it wasn’t a ‘high spec model’ with heated seats etc. Heated seats?? It was a 10 month old Toyota Aygo🤣 False promises and loads of excuses!
