“I got the wrong product”

“I ordered a small A5 greetings card from Media Storehouse. The card came quickly and was well packaged. I ordered it to put in a frame on the wall - not to send to someone as a card and the quality is lovely. I will be browsing the catalogue to see what else I can find for framing.”

We want to clarify that all our products undergo professional reproduction on modern lab systems, and the high-resolution files are not edited prior to production. This process ensures that the prints are an accurate representation of the original artwork. However the quality of historical images can vary due to factors such as the age and condition of the original photograph. Despite these challenges, we make every effort to faithfully preserve the artistic character and authenticity of the original artwork in our prints. Regarding the resolution and clarity of the prints, it's essential to consider the normal viewing distance. Larger prints and posters are designed to be viewed from a slightly greater distance than smaller prints. This ensures an optimal visual experience, allowing you to appreciate the details and overall composition of the artwork better. However, we understand that perceptions of "grainy" can be subjective and may vary from person to person. “Trying to obtain a couple of high-res scans for publication in a railway magazine to mark the 70th anniversary of Studio Canal's movie The Titfield Thunderbolt proved really difficult. In the end I got some - though not the ones I wanted and - as Editor - had to pay for them out of my own pocket!”

We understand that you initially encountered difficulties finding the specific high-resolution scans you were looking for. However, we are pleased to hear that you found some in the collections available through our License Storehouse. We strive to provide a wide range of quality images to meet the needs of our customers, and we're glad that we could help you locate the suitable rights managed license for your publication. Regarding the matter of payment, you mentioned that as the Editor, you had to cover the cost of the images from your own pocket. We apologise for any unexpected expenses however licenses do need to be purchased for commercial use of the images. We appreciate your understanding of the licensing requirements and your willingness to cover the cost for the appropriate usage.
