“Very straightforward and pleasant people to deal with. No niggling silly questions. Beware the offer £10 voucher for sportsbikeshop goods, everything they sell is not covered. I tried to use it for a Givi rack for my Pan European, but this was not covered.”

“I had been with the same insurer for a few years and been quite happy with their quotes as they compared favourably with those on MCN comparison. However at my last renewal other insurers were quoting around £80 less. Change was quick and easy”

“There's no doubt that MCN Compare is very useful, but there are a few gotchas. 1. You WILL pay more than the headline rate. Extras such as pillion cover and legal cover always bump up the premium. 2. You WILL have to over the details again, in excruciating detail, with the company or agent of your choice, so you end up giving the same data at least twice: into the we forms and then over the phone. 3. Mismatches between the questions that the webform asks and those that the insurer needs will cause the premium to rise, because the MCN site uses the lowest-common-denominator approach to data. Having said all that, there is still the dilemma between the cheapest and the best. For example, Carole Nash wanted over £500. When I asked why this was twice as much as other quotes, I was told "we're not a budget insurer" which didn't help me one bit. The MCN site does not help you with dilemma, it just provides the opportunity for you to construct it! Hope all than makes sense. Ride safe. Ride invisible.”

“The system is fast and works pretty well, although for my circumstance I tend to you use as a guide to provide fodder for further negotiation. I generally take out a multi-bike policy and the service doesn't appear to allow for you to add more than one motorcycle (I appreciate that there are probably too many variables for an online system to calculate). As such, I usually include for the most expensive bike I have and then call to discuss - It seems to work ok. Thanks.”
