“Price of goods website easy to use Then not so good on delivery. said 2-4 days and it was 5 due to a mix up and my goods being sent tot he wrong depot. I tracked my order aNd was told to contact Maxwells, whichI did which is how I found out what had happened to my goods. Would have been nice for Maxwells to contact me and explain the issue rather than me having ring them, They could have emailed me as they had all my contact details. I would not have got my goods any earlier but the customer service would have been a better experience”

“The fence and gate are very good quality I paid the extra delivery charge to get it the next day , however it got seperate. So I only had half of the order the next day! 2 days later I got the rest, Maxwells did refund the delivery charge so thanks Maxwells”

“Maxwells had exactly the picket fencing we wanted at 0.6m high, which we'd found very difficult to source elsewhere. Website was easy to use and the delivery was accurate and quick. The basic order of picket fence panels, fence posts and spikes was good quality however .... Not a perfect 5 though. When delivered no attempt was made to call so it was left at the front door. We were in so could have taken it and nothing went missing. Two of the fence panels were not perfect - one had an upright missing and one had a complete break on one of the horizontals. We were cutting the panels down to fit the space, but had we needed all of them to be full panels we wouldn't have been able to use them and would have had to wait for replacements. Note, because we didn't need the full panel we have not contacted Maxwell's so no comment on their willingness to correct this.”

“Delivery was quick and communications with the company excellent. The packing of 2 x 5 litre paint tins could have been better. One tin was badly dented but not compromised and it was not clear whether the denting had occurred in transit or not. Overall, the price was good and delivery acceptable. I would use them again.”

“Ordered a door (size & style were hard to find)but they had one -price was good - delivery charge was fair-delivery and time slot was also good-all in all a good reliable company to deal with”

“Delivery took a week from order, although this was due to damage to original product. Packaging was a bit shoddy but adequate for protection. Tin itself look a bit second hand with labels partly removed.”

“Whilst you did keep me informed about my order I do feel you need to up your game a little with regard to stock control , it is vital in a selling environment to know where stocks can be accessed . Having said that I do intend to use you again as although my order was delayed your Emails were a great help in keeping me informed. Very many thanks for your kind attention . Brian.”

“Very good prices, but really tortoise like in sending the goods via mail order. Disappointed, but will be ok once I receive last week's order placement, which I've just been informed is finally on it's way today.”

“I ordered two tins of paint and paid £4.99 delivery. I wasn't very happy when I arrived home and unpacked the box to find that one of the tins of paint had a dent in the side and the paint had come out of the top of the tin. Had I of not needed the paint so desperately I would have sent it back. The paint however has done the job I needed.”

“I'm quite happy with the panels but two of them were missing two vertical slatts on the end. Expected on the Saturday but arrived on the monday. Also I ordered 10 instead of 11 but that was my fault!”

“I was looking for Dulux Satinwood Crazy Cream which is no longer available ready mixed. I found it on Maxwell's https://www.maxwellsdiy.com/images/quick-dry-satinwood-crazy-cream-1-litre-p1557-1172_image.jpg. When it arrived, quickly, it was a MIXED paint which I could have bought locally and it was 2 shades lighter than the old paint I was trying to match. In the end we had to paint all the woodwork again rather than do the missing bits with the paint from Maxwells. It was NOT made clear on the website when ordering that this was a mixed paint.”

“The product is very good quality. There was a bit of a hiccup with delivery, I was told when booking delivery that the driver would call me to let me know he would be on his way so I could get home to take the delivery. I never received a call and had to call Maxwells on a number of occasions, over a 3 hour wait, to ask where he was, only to be told on the last call that he had tried in the morning but no-one was in. I never received a call. I was told on the 3rd call that my number was incorrect, this was taken by the operator at the time of organising the delivery. Once i had received the order I noticed that I had been charged delivery on the order that is supposed to be free delivery over £50. All in all I am satisfied with the product but the delivery seemed to hit a few snags.”

“I am a regular customer of Maxwells although my recent order WEB63451 placed on the 1st Nov 16 was the first on line purchase. Your web page advertised if order was placed before a certain time of day it would be delivered the next working day. Order was placed on Tuesday 1st Nov at 11.28am but delivery was not expected until Friday 4th Nov between 10am and 2pm as detailed in your confirmation email. Then on Friday the 4th i received a phone call informing me that the delivery was cancelled and rearranged for the following morning Saturday the 5th. There were 16 items on my order the largest being 7 internal doors with the rest being made up of smaller items with the exception of 1 x 7.5 Litre of Crown Pure Brilliant White Silk Emulsion which is rather bulky. The driver gave me a cardboard box which had an invoice taped onto it which due to its size could only have contained the smaller items. Then after bringing in the doors the driver returned to his van and i was expecting him to bring in the 7.5 litre pot of paint but he got into his cab and was ready to leave when i approached him and asked about the paint. His response was that he was only the delivery driver and had picked up what was there at the depot and not to worry about it as you would sort it out. i asked him if there was a receipt that i needed to sign and he told me no. To conclude your next day delivery service has actually taken 4 days and on arrival 1 of the items is missing. All in all i have not been impressed with your performance.”
