“The removers (Lee and Joe) arrived exactly when they said they would. They both worked tirelessly packing up our belongings and wrapping every piece of furniture in protective wrap to make sure it wasn't damaged. They stopped only once, for about ten minutes, to eat a sandwich I made them and continued to work on and on to get finished. They were quiet, unobtrusive, respectful and were eager to help us in any way they could. I cannot recommend this company highly enough.”

“Very helpful in storing all my things at VERY short notice. And in altering moving dates when I needed this. Collected the cartons promptly. Delivery staff were good, but a bit rushed, as they had to go on to another job.”

“Paul Turnham Kitchens take full advantage of Matthew James Global Relocations storage and delivery service. Our kitchens are delivered in to their warehouse from Germany. There are many delicate components which make up a kitchen including glass and valuable appliances. These item are all stored securely in their warehouse until required by our fitters. Then they are delivered to site by Matthew James. No items ever get damaged or go missing, their staff are polite, friendly and a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend using this company as we have for the last 5 years. Paul Turnham”

“I cannot recommend Matthew James Removals enough. Initially we were let down last-minute by another removal firm and Matthew James arranged for packing and move at a weeks notice. We had the move from hell which fell through halfway through packing the day before the actual move. The staff in the office and those packing at the house, were helpful and discreet while it was all happening and arranged for our home to go into storage at their warehouse, for six weeks. This was arranged quickly and without fuss. The efficiency and the professionalism of the Matthew James staff throughout our move, means that I would not hesitate to use them again.”

“Have always had excellent service from you company and used them on many occasions. The teams are invariably on time , efficient and very helpful. One point I would suggest would be that the questionairre handed to the client on completion of the packing/unpacking is posted to the company in a reply paid envelope. Having the team able to read what the client has said about their service can be daunting if this has been questionable and does not,give the company, necessarily, the accurate reply they require.”

“Excellent company to deal with all round. They were professional and also friendly from start to finish and very courteous and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Even though I was recommended to them by an expat who could not give them enough praises, I still decided to get a few other quotes anyway. It was not the absolute cheapest quote (but far from the most expensive quote either) but my gut feeling is never to go with the cheapest and go with a recommendation, and I'm so glad I went with them as it was very good value overall considering I did not have to lift a finger and they gave me the best service I have ever EVER had from any removal people with my stuff getting to Marbella in a matter of days. I've used another couple of companies before (including Pickfords) for various removals over the years but the difference was night and day in service and professional attitude as Matthew James Removals actually seemed to really care about my possessions (some of it is very expensive bespoke furniture and chinaware and a one of a kind bespoke crystal chandelier), but from the very careful and professional way they helped with my packing and loading and when I get everything delivered at the other side Spain I was not worried, as could see the care they took at every stage. No damage whatsoever and everything perfect and stress free and moves are usually quite stressful. Could not be happier with Matthew James Removals. Highly recommended and thank you. Don”

“We moved from Leybourne Lakes to the Links In Addington. We moved due to the ongoing issues of parking, on the day the crew turned up a high rate neighbor instantly started confronting the driving as to was he going to block her in, his response 'of course not Madam' he was so calm and polite dealing with her, she soon made her way back to her house. I knew then we were on for a good day. The guys were amazing, one of the reasons we used Matthew James was due to my sons obsession with his trucks and my love of Elvis, it was definitely the right move. The driver took my son onto the lorry to have a look around and even let him sit in the drivers seat. They worked non stop and didn't even moan when they could not get the lorry round the back to load up the garden due to cars blocking the road, everything including the Wendy house had to be walked round. At the far end house the crew moved stuff around and discussed each room with me, the driver even made some valid suggestions as how to lay the room out - obviously his years of experience made him see things I could not! They did not rush off and didn't even moan when our friends turned up with Prosecco which we drank while they worked on (it was late at this point honest!) It was a brilliant day which could not have gone better.”

“We had 4 quotations all from people we had no experience of, apart from a 5th that was recommended by friends but they were so slow getting back to my initial enquiry I did not let them quote. 3 of the 4 came to visit, the 4th gave a phone quote with my information but the service felt sub standard and for some reason they said it would take 2 days to load vehicle? Of the 3 that visited the person that stood out was Jason from your firm, he was polite (like all three) but Jason had a sense of professionalism and a greater knowledge and gave us more confidence in the unknown of letting your furniture and possessions out of your control for a week or so. I contacted a couple of the companies to get more information and ask more questions where I found Michael to be very helpful, again more so than the other companies contacted, with speed of response and information / helpfulness. Pricing with two firms was similar but we chose Matthew James because of the confidence those two people gave us. We were supplied a load of boxes in good time for us to pack and watched some very useful videos on your website to ensure we packed correctly. The three lads turned up on the day ontime and they worked really hard all morning, they drank a lot of tea mind lol but no problem they fully deserved it. Everything that I had not had time to pack myself they gave me help with and in some instances got on and took apart tables themselves and packed them up. Very pleased with the collection side. We had one small problem we found out at deliver point (mention later) We waited for a call and I had contact from Paul the Euro guy who liaised with us, I sent him more pictures of the property entrance and roads leading to it for help. The delivery finally arrived on Saturday morning, I had a call from one the guys, Matthew I think and I met them around the corner and they followed me in. These two again could not fault they worked really hard and did the job in a fast but careful pace and all unloaded and things fitted together in a few hours. As mentioned above one issue was the vacuum cleaner, on collection it needed to be the last item in so I could vacuum the house after everything cleared. I was rushing so not to hold up the guys in the vehicle and we all kind of forgot it also had to be packed, so as almost an afterthought I asked for it to be put on, they did so but once unpacked the centre filter was missing, which means it doesn't work as well. Must make it clear, this not a complaint ~I was so pleased with all the service and this was one of those things. But if anyone found a cylindrical filter grey top and blue core about inch or two wide and about 6 to 8 inches long please let me know. we only tried to use it recently and discovered the missing bit. So in short great service and would use you again and have recommended you to another person who is also moving to Spain”

“My wife and I have just recently moved to the Algarve. We researched several company,s based in the Uk and on the Algarve with regards to moving us. Firstly, out of the four the company's in the Uk that we contacted Mathew James were the most helpful. I sent the same email to all company's explaining what we required and the dates that we needed them. Within hours a very charming lady returned a reply via email asking when it would be convenient for one of her colleagues to pay us a visit to discuss in more detail our requirements and to provide a quote based on the amount of goods which we were moving. A chap called Jason working for M J phoned me and arranged to visit my house within three days. Two of the four company's I had to chase several days later and only one of those showed any willingness to meet our requirements and visit us to provide a quote, which they did 10 days later. The fourth company after sending them an email and having made two phone calls did not seem at all interested in visiting my house , they just asked me to send them what I believed to be the total square metres required to move and then they would give me a price.!! The two Algarve company's who advertise very strongly out here again asked for the total sq metres to be shipped.!! Unless you have had experience in boxing up your house and make vying before and are able to gestimate your total sq metres for moving perhaps you require like me a personal visit. Jason, from M J arrived on time on the day arranged, and provided us with all the information we needed and was very informative and explained the whole packing and moving process.. The quote arrived via email three days later, Broken down and listing my motor bike separately as requested as I was not sure at that stage as to whether I was going to take it with me. M J was not the cheapest quote we received , although two of the others were cheaper both my wife and I felt very assured from talking to Jason and the lady in their head office that they were a professional company. We decided to move with M J and everything went like clockwork. The truck arrived on time on the day and to my delight it was Elvis..It took nearly two days to pack our belongings and the team of four lads were a credit to the company. They were very polite, smartly dressed, and extremely careful in packing all our goods. The truck arrived on the scheduled day and time in the Algarve in the same order it left the Uk.(Motor bike included). Although the driver and helper were not the same as those who collected from our Uk home they were M J colleagues and were equally as professional and pleasant . The two men delivering the goods were fantastic, placing every box and piece of furniture where required in the house, most of which was unwrapped and assembled on the day. The men left us with approx 45 boxes of goods to un pack which my wife and I slowly over approx four weeks were able to unpack. Not One single item of furniture,glass ,or piece of crockery was damaged, it was all packed so well. Mathew James were superb from start to finish,and I would thoroughly recommend them without any hesitation.Superb.....”

“Jason the rep who called was very polite and very helpful in sorting everything out and arangeing everything from crews to boxes and even tape and when crew arrived on moving day wow they was great cant say how good they was people say moving is the most stressful thing your ever do sorry totally disagree use Jason and his team and its the best day of your life”

“We recently "down sized" after being in our house for over forty years. One can imagine how much we had to move! Matthew James were first class and their staff very helpful and cooperative. Their after sales service i.e. collection of boxes and excess paper has been excellent . We would thoroughly recommend them. London March 2016”

“I needed a few items delivering from the UK to my house in Italy. The company were initially helpful. The cost quoted wads just under £900 on a shared delivery. I paid in full as soon as I received the invoice. My goods arrived at their warehouse and were waiting to be scheduled for delivery. After a week or so COVID-19 happened and the borders were closed leaving my goods stuck in their warehouse. I appreciate these events are outside of their control but they are also outside of mine. I incurred additional storage charges of over £300 - more than a third of the original quote. They showed no willingness to compromise on the fees and I had no choice but to pay up. Given the extraordinary circumstances I would expect a little more leniency and understanding. I also expected the communication from the payments department to be a little more empathetic. Eventually the actual delivery was good and the delivery staff did a great job. *** UPDATE *** I have recently been contacted by a member of Matthew James' customer care department by the name of Nicola. She was far more empathetic and actually took the time to discuss the matter with me. She was genuinely unhappy that this matter hadn't been brought to her attention earlier as she felt it could and should have been resolved straight away. She agreed with my presentation of the facts above and we agreed that given the extenuating circumstances of COVID it was fair and reasonable that we share the cost of the additional charges equally. “Items removed from Berlin to Warwickshire. Excellent communication with office and drivers of vehicles. Boxes arrived in good order with no damage. Separately wrapped items also were taken care of. Drivers at both ends were helpful and most polite. I would recommend the part load service. Seemed expensive but overall turned out to be good value.”

“We were very impressed with the Matthew James team. All people we spoke to on the telephone or met in person were very friendly, helpful and efficient. The packing up and transportation of our things from Andalucia to Scotland was done much quicker than originally estimated. Everything arrived safely and in one piece. I would recommend this company to everyone!”
