Work was satisfactory for patio door to slide . Parts £30 was ok. Labour £195 rather excessive for a total of no more than 2 hours work. Asked for estimate which unable to provide until work completed. Would not recommend unless estimate could be provided beforehand .

Locksmith was told to attend store for 9 as we had to get staff in from outside the city centre to cover, this meant they had to alter their schedule massively to accommodate this. Locksmith turned up at half 12 and when asked why, the company just gave us a load of excuses. Obviously this doesn't reflect well on LockRite, but Lock and Glaze will not be receiving any further works from us.

Hi, Thank you for your valued feedback. We are very pleased to hear that you found the Lockrite service efficient, however we are sorry that you thought the price for the service provided was expensive. At Lockrite we do endeavour to keep our costs competitive and upfront, we strive to always provide customers with an estimate and wait for approval before starting any work. We also aim to ensure customers are fully aware there is VAT and any materials used, to be added to the hourly rates when the final bill is calculated. Should this have not been your experience please feel free to reach out to our Customer Service Team on 0800 0612 677 so we can look into this further. Kind regards, Rob

Said "after entry" in the receipt. The door was already open when he arrived. He tried to get snapped key out of cylinder but Couldn't get snapped bit of key out. unscrewed one screw to take cylinder lock out and replaced Charged £90 . (£65 labour charge for 20 minutes work), (cylinder lock £13 to £16 on ebay and that's for a YALE one) But no call out charge 😃 Gave him £100 cash which he asked "did I want change"? Which I replied "YES " But no call out charge 😃 Best get a quote 1st before you ask them to attend Wish I did

Hi Paul, I have been looking back over some older reviews and noticed that yours had not been acknowledged here. I am pleased that we were able to solve your problem and thank you for your feedback. However I am concerned to hear, and do apologise, that you were left with some confusion about the service we provided and price charged. To help clarify your first concern with “after entry” being noted on the receipt. This was simply a term used by the locksmith to show that the door was already open and that he did not have to gain entry to the premises, either non-destructively or destructively in order to provide the service to you. Regarding your confusion about a call-out charge. I do see you acknowledge you were only charged for the work provided, which included a one hour minimum labour charge and that no extra charges were added to your bill such as an extra call-out charge. To try and clarify this further, Lockrite does NOT add a call-out charge for traveling to a customer or diagnosing the problem, we only charge for any work a customer chooses to have undertaken and this is what happened in your case. To try and help address your final concern about getting a quote first. This should have been your experience as we endeavour to keep our prices competitive and upfront. We strive to always provide customers with an estimate and wait for approval before starting any work. We also aim to ensure customers are fully aware that there is VAT and any materials used to be added to the hourly rates when the final bill is calculated. I do hope this has helped clarify the unfortunate confusion that arose with our provision of the service to you, I also trust that all this was properly addressed for you in the past. However please feel free to still reach out to our Customer Service Team on 0800 0612 677 should you still have any questions or concerns about the service you received. At Lockrite we do want all our customers to be happy with the service we provided to them. Kind regards, Rob

Good service but the pricing is ridiculous. I have been charged £216 to install a mechanism that costs £50. I could have bought a brand new door for £500! I feel ripped off and I will shop around next time. Scandalous.

Hi Adam, we're really sorry to hear you found the price of our service expensive on this occasion. We endeavor to keep our costs competitive and always give our customers a quote before carrying out any work. We never pressure our customers to go ahead and do not artificially inflate job value. The cost of our jobs are determined by our minimum charge, the materials used and the amount of time it takes to carry out the work. I can see there were 2 visits made to the property; The first, to diagnose the lock issue, find the fault, remove the faulty lock mechanism and fit a temporary lock. Then the second, to return and install a new mechanism and make the appropriate adjustments and checks to the door to ensure correct alignment and functionality. The remainder of the fee in this case was the labour cost for both visits, plus the applicable VAT. Once again, we apologise the price was higher than you anticipated on this occasion and hope this helps to explain the total cost. Kind regards, JL

Sadly I had to have your locksmith back to his initial repair on two occasions as there was still a fault with the locking mechanism. Although the locksmith was very prompt and helpful each time he came, unfortunately it still isn't in proper working order and I was going to contact him again, but unfortunately, and I apologise for the delay in getting back to you, as I have been in hospital. Kind regards
