“I had no idea of how to find or appoint a surveyor to look at the house we were buying, but a google search brought up this website and by adding a few simple details gave me a list of surveyors/valuers in my area. I was able to link to their websites and look at reviews to help me choose. I found one very close to where I was purchasing who took details from me and was more than happy to look at any specific points I needed answered. the House buyer survey was completed and with me within a week and at 33 pages long covered every aspect I needed. On the back of this I was able to negotiate further for some more investigation to be done and a small price reduction. Excellent service. money well spent and peace of mind.”

“In today’s housing market surveyors , estate agents and vendors alike , need to be realistic. Even though it was hugely obvious none of the surveyors had work , none had the wisdom to negotiate on a realistic price ,to secure my business. So I took my business else where. We are heading into turmoil times in the housing market, don’t be greedy , be prepared to win honest business from those that won’t be taken advantage of !”

“I contacted a surveyor on October 2 I think it was and the first appointment they could give me was well into November so I went on Yellow pages on line and found a local Swansea surveyor who could do it this week”

“One of your advertisers quoted £450 for a building survey and after emailing twice advised me that a lesser survey would cost more plus VAT. I have emailed LBS about this sharp practice and asked for the surveyors price to be revised or the company removed from the site.”

“What I wanted from a site with the word "Local" in its title was links to "local" firms. I got some of those but the cheapest quote was actually from some sort of National company (based miles away from the town where I was buying a house) claiming to have a "local" surveyor in my area. I had my suspicions that this surveyor was not "local" at all and when I challenged them to identify the surveyor and his/her familiarity with the area in which the house is located I was told that whilst he covered that area he was actually based over 30 miles away! Needlesss to say I didn't engage them.”

“I had to chase a lot. In the end I didn't get the information I requested when I requested it and I had to find an alternative surveyor doing a different kind of search because I was not contacted with the acceptance letter and T&Cs when I needed that.”
