“Really helpful to get the list of surveyors for a pre-purchase building survey. We previously had a recommendation through NextDoor and I tried this website as a cross-check. The cheapest quote was a THIRD of the quote we had! We eventually settled on one which was more like 40%.”

“Found this an excellent place to start. However, the quotes then followed up by emails and some phone calls from those companies quickly overwhelmed me - first time purchaser. Finally now sitting down and going through these, deleting as I go. That's enabled me to go make my choice. I would recommend this as a first point of call as my personal situation was the problem not the website.”

“website was Ok. The report from the surveyor omitted a lot. I have found patches of black mould indicating damp - that were not mentioned. I have need to re-wire the property. With the benefit of hindsight, I feel I would have been better having a walk round with a builder. For me, the profession is now right up there with politicians and estate agents.”

“Used this tool to find a building surveyor, submitting the search sent my details to multiple surveyors who began contacting me repeatedly to try get my buisness all at once. I also began getting multiple spam phone calls a day which weren't related to building surveys at all, these daily spam calls have not reduced since. I had not submitted my phone number anywhere else so I am almost certain this tool caused the issue. I do not recommend using this tool at all, in fact I would actively advise against using it.”

Thanks for your review. We were a little surprised by your comment, and curiosity prompted us to check the locations of the companies returned for your search. One has three offices across London, two are central London based, and the third in the north Surrey London suburbs, but operate across the capital. I would also add that the companies themselves select the postcodes where they wish to offer their services - we do not simply pick them at random (or even by proximity) from our database. In all cases, even where a company's main office may not be 'local', they will invariably employ surveyors local to their selected postcodes, so the surveyors carrying out the survey WILL be local and have all the necessary local knowledge for the survey. Why? because they do not want to be wasting unproductive time trekking long distances between surveys, time which is far better spent on actual surveys and the preparation of their reports.

“Being new to the area we needed to find a selection of surveyors to decide the best one to suit our needs. Your website was easy to navigate and gave us 3 choices to consider, each company's profile was easy to access and their prices based upon our property details were clear to understand. We eventually chose River Crest Surveyors because of the clear pricing and list of works to be carried out in the level 3 survey. They were very quick to follow up our request and have arranged to carry out our survey in the next 14 days.”
