“Nobody got back to me!!!”

“They published internal photographs of my home without consulting me. I feel invaded and violated. I told them that they should have asked my permission and they told me that it shows the property conditions. When I objected they said that it showed what the rooms were being used for. I found this response ignorant. Their reasoning was insufficient and their treatment of me was arrogant.”

“ever hear of the term prompt response??.......or customer service??. trying to get a surveyor to call you back let alone make an appointment is nearly impossible....and this isn't just an isolated instance - I tried to get about 10 surveyors to quote on a full structural survey and only I replied. clearly customer service is something that applies to other people”

“I am not really sure how to rate star wise. I received 3 names; 1. told me it was too far to come, 2. quoted me £1295 (basically too far to come) 3. didn't even grace me with a reply. I don't know how the results are gathered but obviously for me it was no help at all.”

“Not what I expected. This doesn't find local surveyors it spams you with a selection of generic surveyors who likely pay for this service. I immediately got texts, emails and phone calls from surveyors as far away as Chippenham (buying in London). Use the www.ricsfirms.com website instead, no spam just a list of actual independent local surveyors.”

“I have not been able to find a Surveyor who is willing to give a breakdown for the work that they are going to do. Some Surveyor's are asking for payment before they undertake the work. How disappointing”

“A very good and comprehensive building survey report, every angle of this property was reported on and all work required to make good was detailed excellently. Also called Scott Young who spoke to me for over half hour and basically broke down how he made the observations for this report and this was a great help to me. Excellent value for money.”

“I asked for a surveyor in Scotland and was given one in England and although they used to work in my area, had told the website some time ago that they don,t deal with Scotland anymore. There are at 4 surveyors in my area but this site didn't,t recommend any of them and recommended one some 50 miles away.”

“I used a company called Davies Rural property consultants ON the 18/01/17 SHE asked for payment up front she told us that she would carry out the survey on the 24/1/17 she phoned the estate agent to say she had car trouble and made another appointment on the 28/1/17 at 11am at 1030 the estate agent tried to contact her to pick up the keys at 1040 she phoned my partner to say she had meeting at 2pm and would come after that. my partner tried to save her time by suggesting she pick up the keys on the way she told my partner not to plan her day and later sent me an email telling me my partner was rude to her and was no longer happy to do the survey and would get her book keeper to refund the fee.I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT HER AND TO DATE HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED MY FEE IAM NOT SURE IF THIS IS A SCAM FEEL LET DOWN”

We're sorry you've had a negative experience with a surveyor you found through our website. Ms Davies is an experienced RICS Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer. It is common practice for surveyors to require payment of fees prior to any survey being carried out, and certainly not indicative of any 'scam' or untoward behaviour. All RICS Members are bound by a strict code of conduct, and in the event of any dispute, you should first take the matter up with the surveyor in question - they are required by RICS to have and follow a written dispute procedure. Should things not be resolved at that point, you have the option to refer the matter to RICS Regulation who can take things up on your behalf.

“Do not use this site! Once some of the Surveyors got our details they harassed us with emails, texts and calls, particularly from Your Survey Ltd who had to be told to stop contacting us. If they are that desperate for work we doubt they are any good. We also started getting a large number of phishing emails for the first time so think security somewhere is compromised.”

“Wish I'd have never used it. Been absolutely hounded ever since I received the quotes. If I wanted to take the quotes I'd have got in touch myself but yet I've had nothing short of at least 10 phone calls”

“The arranging of the surveyor and the quick responses were fantastic We received an email with the report which caused a great deal of upset. We are a married gay couple and the report was written to Mr X & Mr Y. However the email was addressed to Mr & Mrs X. I was outraged. It is hard enough living as a gay couple at times, without somebody not checking facts before sending an email. Due to this fact I will never use this company again or recommend them to anybody else.”
