“As a first time customer, Lady V Vintage was recommended to me by a friend. They had a sale on and I ordered 4 dresses (since Lindy Bop has closed). After 2 weeks, I heard nothing but had a confirmation order email, I had to chase them after a week and a day and they said they had been ‘swamped’ with sale orders, yet one of my friends received her dresses within 4 days. Low and behold, my package was dispatched the same day I sent my email. The patterns were lovely, but the dresses were an odd fit with each size varying and not fitting well. Quite disappointed with the service and items. All sent back for full refund and probably won’t go back I’m afraid.”

Hello Kate. I wanted to apologise for the longer-than-usual wait for your order on this occasion. At the beginning of August we had staff illness/absence, staff leaving and the summer sale. All three together unfortunately made for some unprecedented delays that are certainly not usual here at Lady V. I am really sorry you were disappointed by your experience with us however if in future you decide to give us another chance, please get in touch first so we can make it up to you.

“My beautiful Bee lyra dress took only six days to arrive at my door! I am going to "bee" the envy of everyone at work in my "bee" dress. So happy that you restocked. First time buying directly from the UK. No issues. Can't wait to buy more, although the $30 express courier was a bit steep and would love for there to be cheaper/slower options for delivery to other side of the world.”

“Absolutely awful! Customer service phone calls cost a fortune to ring. They never answer them. I tried emailing, webchat and Facebook messenger. I finally got to speak to someone and was promised delivery the next day by 10am - my dresses arrived 3 days later and too late to wear for the wedding I was attending. Avoid!”

Hello Sarah. I know we have spoken on the phone since this review but I just wanted to apologise for the issues you experienced with your Lady V order. You placed an order for one of our advertised pre-order items however you weren't sure when this would be delivered. We gave you our expected delivery date however unfortunately on this occasion the pre-order items ended up being delayed. We are really sorry you had to wait longer than expected for these and therefore did not get them in time for the wedding. To confirm we have issued a full refund for the dresses and as mentioned on the phone, if you decide to give us another chance to give you our usual (and wonderful) Lady V experience, you would be more than welcome to get in contact first so we can make it up to you.

“Shipping was very quick. The dress fit well, I love it, looks exactly as it did on the site. Price was very reasonable, for the look. I would prefer it to have been sewn and hemmed a little more in places, like the chest. Overall an excellent experience, will be back for more.”

“My favourite dresses in the whole world!! So well made and the patterns are incredible. Lock down off the back of having a baby these dresses genuinely still made me feel good about myself and feel like my old personality is still there when weight gain and pregnancy can make you feel a million miles from that. Thank you for making dresses for real women of all shapes and sizes.”

“I bought a dress off a vintage stall at a recent 1940's event in a size smaller than I normally wear, which I am most thrilled about. The fit is flattering and comfortable. However.... I have had a look through the dresses on your website to purchase more in the future and after being a great British sewing bee watcher, I have become quite critical about pattern matching, and this does not deliver on your dresses and puts me off buying dresses in the future, as for the price you charge they don't look quite right and need this refinery, therefore would look better on the people. I do know however this is similar to matching wallpaper and you lose fabric due to matching, but with this to think about you would be able to charge more for the dresses. Only my personal opinion and hope you don't mind my feedback. I will be wearing my purchase as it looks lovely on me, but don't think I will be purchasing another dress I'm sad to say.”
