“Good quality products. I've had two installations from.Kettell. The first went off without a hitch. The admin on the second installation wasn't handled well. There were difficulties organising the installation date and I had to chase them up to get the FENSA certificate afterwards.”

I'm really sorry your second experience with us didn't match your first. I tried to call to apologise personally, and I'd still love to chat, so please do give the office a ring whenever suits. This summer was a tough one. Our office manager and office apprentice both moved on to new roles at the same time. The temporary cover we brought in did their best, but they didn't have the knowledge you'd expect from us, and there simply weren't enough hours in the day. I'm pleased to say we're now fully back on track. Timea has joined us as our full-time office manager, our previous office manager has stayed on as our bookkeeper, and we've welcomed a new marketing and sales support apprentice. We've also found ways to make our process smoother, but we'll never lose the personal touch. You'll always get a call to book your survey and installation, and a follow-up call once the work is done. “We were a little disappointed with our experience, sadly. We were told we needed a showroom appointment and had expected information, guidance, even recommendations on our visit. We arrived on time and it was busy, so we had to wait quite a while (which I completely understand when short staffed) but when we did finally speak to someone it felt we were given quite short shrift, despite bringing photos and details etc with us. The people before us seemed to get a very different service and lots of technical spec info and advice. We had travelled 45 minutes to get there! The quotation process was long and the promised delivery of the quote came and went. It took close to 2 weeks to finally get a quote, where other companies turned quotes around within 5 days. All in all, we felt that our custom wasn’t really of interest, which is a shame, with a requirement for 16-18 mid range timber look windows and a reasonable budget. The quote we did receive was significantly higher (+30%) than the other two companies we talked to.”

We are sorry to read this review, as it really isnt a true reflection of the effort and time put into the quoting process. On the day of your showroom visit it was particularly busy, so sadly there was a wait. You were comparing it to another Timber Alternative range that we did not stock, and to another range that, ideally, due to the complexity and the size of the install, required a home visit. The notes then state that you didn't have time for a home visit, but requested a remote quote. This is much more challenging and time consuming, and for many of our premium products requires the quotes to be sent away, reviewed and then collated into a quote. This all takes time to get right, and so isnt something we will rush. Often customers have waited years to decide the change their windows and doors, so a couple of weeks for a quote is more than acceptable. Our pricing is competitive and reflects the level of expertise and skill we have across our team. The products and companies we were compared to, in our opinion are not the same. Sometimes though, we just aren't the right fit, and it seems to be the case here. We thank you wholeheartedly for your feedback and will work harder on ensuring we can convey our products, service and offering better moving forward. We wish you well with your installation.

“I encountered problems with fixing a date in advance for the fitting. I was offered 3 appointments at very short notice, none of which were possible for me. I would have preferred being given a date with at least a week to 10 days notice. The work itself was excellent and all visiting staff have been the same. Extremely pleased with the window.”

Thank you for your review. I can see from the extensive notes that you had been unwell for the original install dates, so pleased that you are well recovered now. Because of this you would have been on our priority list to fit you back in the plan as soon as you were ready so this will have been why you were offered our short notice dates. Please feel free though to share if you wanted more notice. You did share which days worked best & we could have accommodated a request for more notice also. We often work to fixed dates for customers carrying out other work or workign around their professions, such as teaching. We are pleased to hear you were happy with the end product! “Kettell windows did an okay job. They eventually replaced the two windows after 4 weeks from the start date. One of the teams were very messy and swore on the job. Not good when you have a young child around. They also damaged the surrounding brickwork and plaster (which I expected some). However it was the ignorance that frustrated me. All in all, I'm happy with the window itself but wouldn't use the company again.”

Natalie, this is really not the kind of feedback we want to receive so please rest assured this will be investigated further. I do know we had some issues with the weather & the install was not the simplest but service is paramount to Kettell. Thank you for taking the time to discuss with me further over the telephone & allowing me to express my apologies on behalf of the company.
