Good product but!! Spindle base support rail was incorrectly rebated which meant the infill section stood proud of the base rail, as this piece as well as the handrail was skrink wrapped I didn't check for this and proceeded with the fit when I realised I contacted Deborah at jacksons who asked for images which I supplied, Dedorah's response was that the wood had swelled and hence not their problem. If my complaint had been handled correctly ( I was willing to remove the excess wood myself as i eventually had to ) all that was needed was a little empathy and not the rudeness I recieved with no call back to check if I had managed the problem ok. My advice to Jacksons is to review your customer journey policy then maybe understand that reviews like mine and many others here show that you are doing things very badly and question whether you should be trading with the general public who expect much more in terms of service. Very rude staffs and no manners whatsoever! Delivery was scheduled today, kept calling the company to ensure it arrives today and I was promised it would only to be told now that it will not be delivered due to human error. Staffs were so rude and did not care at all. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS RIDICULOUS COMPANY

I should have read the below reviews before ordering! Extremely rude staffs. Delivery is supposed to arrive today but I have just called and they said it will not be delivered to the human error with no compassion whatsoever from the staffs. Very very unfriendly and rude

Have regularly used Jackson’s, however, we will never use this company again. We have never been spoken to in such a rude and disrespectful way by a staff member. Deborah was rude and who in her opinion knows far better than the tradesmen going in there. Don’t give this company your custom unless you want to be spoken to like dirt.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY BAD REVIEWS ARE TRUE Bannister ordered, delivery not made, delivery company WORST EVER!!! Deborah from Jackson Woodturners Even worse. Unhelpful, patronising, refused to give refund until delivery company returned item (even though they don’t know anything about it) and is still charging me delivery. Waiting to speak to manager on Monday and will update you on outcome.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! !!!!!!!BAD REFUND AND DELIVERY REPUTATION!!!!!!! Ordered a simple bannister, and they could not supply even that. On the day of delivery, not only was it not delivered but the delivery company didn’t have a clue and said they don’t deliver for that company. They transferred me 5 times and found no log, but had emailed me to say that a card had been posted which it had not. Deborah at Jackson Woodturners was even worse and was no help at all. After I request a refund from Jackson Woodturners, I was told that they would refund my money once they had received the bannister back from the delivery company (who still don’t know anything about it) they would issue the refund BUT minus the delivery costs. I’m now out of pocket 1/2 days wages, a standing charge for the joiner as he now has nothing to fit, and a deliver charge For a delivery which did not happen. On reading review, I am not the not one to have problems with this company when it comes to deliver and refunds, as they seem to be getting a reputation!for it. Now waiting for a call from the manager On Monday....we will see.

I actually went to a website called stairpartsonline.co.uk but they don't answer the phone? so after checking address works out that they have same phone number as these people who coincidentally don't answer their phone either, emm and they don't seem to have a great write up here as well, some one else is getting my cash see you later.

I placed an order through Ebay for four Newel caps, after two weeks of waiting for my order to arrive I emailed to trace where they were, Debra informed me that a courier had delivered them , however I had no idea of this as no calling card was left or email. Debra at this company told me that I had to chase up my order to arrange a delivery, something that I believed to be down to her to resolve , not once throughout trying to resolve this did she apologise on behalf of their company. End result was a partial refund as she didn't see why she should refund me the five pounds for delivery . Outrageous

Sent wrong item by company for the second time, 41mm spindles with a 32mm handrail (ordered correctly). Sent previously a square base connector for a newel it would never fit, customer service is poorly communicated and takes a long time to answer. Never answered original emails weeks after, happy to take your money but not correct their issues. Avoid, shop elsewhere.

Most of the wood supplied was fine. However the handrail for our internal balcony was stained at both ends - as seen when sanded. Company denied this - despite 2 joiners and our own experience of the product. Did not offer to replace at the time but afterwards told us we should have requested a replacement! Very unhelpful and rather rude response. Wouldn't recommend and won't use again.

We are in the process of renovating a big old 4 storey Victorian house and decided to refurbish the staircases. Fortunately we only bought enough parts from Jacksons to do the top half turn and landing as a trial run. The quality of the product is dreadful. The base rail was too small for the spindles which all had to be filed down individually to make them fit. The man we spoke to on the phone was totally disinterested and has so far ignored our emailed complaints. If we had just bought wood from them then we would expect to have to make it fit ourselves but we purchased a system which is sold as a ‘slot together’ system where the spindles are advertised as slotting into a groove on the baserail. They don’t fit. We will be sourcing the parts for the other 3 staircases from elsewhere.

Very disappointing and very poor experience with Jackson wood turners. Order wasn't delivered when suppose to be. Waiting in all day for no reason. Customer service team was very unhelpful and very rude when I spoke to them about my order. Spoke to me as if I was stupid. They didn't even seem bothered my order didn't arrive when it was meant to. I would definitely not recommend this company to anyone who want a overall good service.

Ordered 'white primed' newel posts. In fact they are not white primed. They are coated in a yellowish oil based paint which requires re-priming with an oil based primer. Failure to do this results in all the paint peeling off, as we discovered to our cost. We keyed the posts with sandpaper and used 3 coats of wood primer. All the paint peeled off. When I contacted Jackson they clearly couldn't care less, telling me that it tells you to use an oil based primer on the product page on the website. In fact it does not - it states that the newel posts "are ideal as they come already primed". When I pointed this out they said it was 'common knowledge', which is ridiculous. If a thing is primed, it should be primed, not covered in a coating that means you have to re-prime everything. They were also quite unhelpful when I contacted them about an issue we had during installation. I spent a lot of money with them but I am extremely disappointed and would never use them again.

The handrail and brackets although shipped in time and a good condition. The screws supplied are pathetic and therefore the handrail cannot be secured properly
