“When I designed this tartan, it did not occur to me to look for accessories, like kilt hose. The sett was inspired by the CLARK tartan, and the colors, by the American Kestrel, a small, beautiful rapture, native to North America.
It was when I was done, and had submitted the tartan of approval, that it hit me... These are rather odd colors... I wonder what I will find on the way of kilt hose. I knew I wanted a pair of Argyles knitted for formal wear. But, what about every day wear, which I do often.
I've been piping and drumming for 47 years, and have worn every manner of kilt hose... Until I found House of Chevoit. Yes, they were more expensive than any kilt hose I had ever worn before, but why...? So, the next time I was at a games, I went to the vendors, and fondled several pair of the hose by HOC. What a difference! They are so nice. So, I bought my first pair... Black I think.
Now that I had my own tartan...I wondered what luck I would have besides boring white and black...
There they were, Burnt Orange and Ancient Blue!
When they arrived, I could not believe how lucky I gotten. The colors were almost perfect. I picked up the self tie garters at the next games. I, also grabbed a couple of pair of Charcoal hose for more evening stuff... And, yes the dark stripe in my tartan is charcoal not black...another win!

Never again cold or unfashionable feet and legs. Be warned: Once you start wearing their socks, there is no going back. Some people were overheard of saying the word "sock addiction". I myself seriously don't know how I could survive so many years without them.”
