I was unhappy with my order as I felt the pictures were a poor reflection of the surface quality of the pot I ordered. The packaging was also 3x the size of the order and the plastic pot inserts I ordered were cracked. However, I received a full refund immediately.

Usually brilliant but our trailing tradescantia arrived so over wrapped and tightly bound in sellotape that all the trailing stems and leaves dropped off and many parts were brown and mushy despite very tentative unwrapping. We’ve been waiting to see if it perks up but it was a bit sad to see

Disappointing products. Described as being a mixture of resin and ground stone. The mix must be 99 / 1. Slightly flimsy. If I had seen the product 'in the flesh' at a nursery, I probably would not have purchased TBH. Order dispatched quickly. Arrived v well packaged - probably one of the best.

Top marks for the packaging! But points lost for the condition (health) of the plant inside. Brown, scorch-like marks along the entire vine, that flake off when you touch them. There were numerous holes in some of the leaves...plus a number of dead leaves too.

Hi Chantelle Thank you for your feedback. Please note, that the Pothos plant you ordered, does naturally have brown edges along the folds in the vines, which are not scorch but do look a little like burn marks. We have a close up of this feature on our product page: https://hortology.co.uk/products/epipremnum-aureum-golden-pothos. If we can help any further please would you send us some images to info@hortology.co.uk so we can look into this in more detail for you. KInd regards - Your Hortology Team

Sorted problem after having received incorrect order as quickly as could have been expected. Plants were in good condition but was dissapointed as to the size of the palm. Ordered a 21 x 100cm yet received a plant closer to a 17 x 60 (this is without including the plant pot in the measurment).

I was pleased with plants. However they arrived with one out of its pot, very dry, with broken fronds and the second plant crushed by the other. I didnt think that just an apology was quite good enough, even though it was the fault of DPD delivery.

We ordered a lovely big pot which arrived well wrapped and we are really pleased with it. What I wasn't't impressed by was the pot liner. I had seen in our garden centre something like a hard but clear flowerpot for going inside decorative pots and thought this would be the same. It is flimsy and cheap and not worth the money.

Plants arrived over 2 weeks after ordering them (only because I sent an email asking where they were), they arrived in an OK condition. Some dead and broken leaves. They where smaller than expected, especially for the price paid. I would say it is a one time experience for me and I will stick to buying from local shops and garden centres for better quality products.

Hi Georgia Thank you for your comments. I have looked into this for you and the delay was due to the fact you ordered an item that was out of stock and showing as only available on a 1-2 week lead time. There were a few extra days delay than usual due to the Easter break where our growers were close dso we did not have fresh plants arriving over that period, Our plant sizes are provided on the website, including the size of the grow pot and an indicative height. We are very sorry to hear you feel they were smaller than expected. It is not possible to give exact plant heights, but they should always be there or thereabouts, but the grow pot size should always be accurate and this is usually a good indicator of maturity for the plant purchased. Kind regards - Your Hortology Team

I had a problem with one of my Lemon Lime’s, communication wasn’t great and it made my delivery slower than usual. I also wasn’t overly impressed with my pothos, much smaller than expected and smaller than what they looked like online. It’s a shame as I order plants for work often.

The planters were nice. The Boston Fern was dry and some of the leaves were stringy. The packaging was excessive.

Dry efficient but goodness me the amount of packaging was ridiculous very sad. The planet is more important than this.

The plant sent is good however im a little concerned about the tips of the leaves...they are brown which i know can often be due to lack of humidity. Im spraying with water hoping i can arrest further deterioation

Oh the irony of sending me an email asking me for a review asking if the plants made my life “greener!” Well they did and are lovely but unfortunately I will never be ordering from Hortology again because of the unbelievable amount of packaging everything was wrapped in. Layers and layers of plastic over every plant, from one delivery I had a whole car full of rubbish to take to the dump. Others seem to deliver plants with zero packaging so this just seemed ridiculous- especially for a company selling plants!

Hi Jemma We are sorry you are disappointed with our packaging, we usually get more favourable feedback in this respect. We do use a single layer of plastic to protect the plants, this is usually already provided by the growers, so we simply keep it and reuse it to protect the plant during transit to you. We try to avoid using unnecessary plastic, but do find this helps to insulate the plants during transit in cold weather. -Your Hortology Team

I ordered a plant pot but unfortunately it was broken when it arrived. Hortology were extremely good about it and sent me a replacement but that was also broken when it arrived. I don't know whether the courier was at fault or whether the packaging was inadequate. Hortology have refunded my money without any quibble though.

Order arrived in time and safely. Well packaged (perhaps a bit too much packaging!). A bit disappointed with one of the pots, it looked pretty different colour-wise compared to what was on the site given that we paid £100+ for it. Reached out to the company they basically said it's just accepted there's variation. Overall an okay experience but more pricey compared to some other options.

Pot liners were advertised with the pots I bought so I bought those too. Disappointed that they are too big for the pots - seems such a daft mistake

Hi Barbara Thank you for your comments. With some of the smaller pots, the liners need to be trimmed down in height slightly so they fit snuggly inside the planter. The sizes recommended are the best ones overall for each pot. Looking at your order, if you had gone down a size in the liner, it would have made the internal pot size very small and reduced the size of the plants you could have used in the pot considerably. Hence it is better to take a slightly larger liner and tim the top to fit. I hope this helps. - Your Hortology Team

Easy to use website and the plants (5) were packed carefully. The majority of the plants arrived well but the Calathea arrived damaged and I’m still trying to make it look alive again. Not sure if I would buy again, sadly.

I'm hoping order will arrive soon - house name not on address label and returned to sender by PO! Don't know if it was my error or theirs. Suspect plant will be dead.

Hi Rosalind I have checked the details provided on your order and there was no house number provided. The address provided would be as shown on your order confirmation email. We have reshipped your order for you to the new address provided. Kind regards Hortology

I bought two large planters - one to keep and one as a Christmas present. The one to keep is fine but the one bought as a present was disappointing. The rim is quite rough in places and looks unfinished. It wasn't damaged in the post - it appears to have been made that way. It is not consistent with the photo on the website in which the rim looks uneven but intact and properly finished. Both planters came in huge cardboard boxes, 50% of which was empty space. Surely a company specialising in planters can sources boxes that fit its products? You asked 'Did Hortology make my life greener". Sadly, no - it didn't.

Hi there I am sorry to hear you are disappointed with one of your planters. I have checked our customer contact and cannot find any communication from you on this, so it is difficult to comment specifically. However I can see that one order was for an Iris plant pot, which does have an unfinished rim effect and is noted in the product description as such? We have a wide variety of boxes suitable for very small to very large planters. The boxes are specifically designed for us and our packaging is made from recycled material. The size of the box needs to be significantly larger than the fragile ceramic pots to mitigate the risk of damage in transit. We have spent a lot of time testing and developing our packaging to ensure this is optimal, both from a protective but also an environmental perspective. Any less and the breakage rate increases significantly, resulting in more packaging to resend a new item to our customer and more fuel to deliver etc. I hope this helps. Kind regards Sandra
