The website is exclusively good, but my mind is not at rest. The agency fee should be paid half/half by both seller and buyer. Do you agree with me?.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't find what you were looking for. We have a comprehensive guide on House Survey types and costs. See https://hoa.org.uk/advice/guides-for-homeowners/i-am-buying/what-sort-of-survey-should-i-have/ This page sets out what you should expect to get from the different surveys: RICS Level 1 (also known as a condition report), RICS Level 2 (Homebuyer report) and RICS Level 3 (full structural and/or building survey). If you are particuarly interested in the cost of these surveys in 2023, you can find this information on this page. https://hoa.org.uk/advice/guides-for-homeowners/i-am-buying/how-much-does-a-house-survey-cost/ Warm wishes, Paula
The Home Owners Alliance free newsletter provides some useful information not always easily available elsewhere. However articles usually end guiding readers towards professional or semi professional services. It would therefore be interesting to have an article clarifying the statutory sources of what makes a home produced document not legally binding but makes the same/similar document prepared by a professional legally binding and indeed, given the discretion some judges seem to have, a definition of "legally binding". Imho the law and legal safeguards regarding property, assets, procedures etc should be open and clearly available to everyone to use/ operate within, without undue difficulty and not reserved only to clients buying professional services

I'm so sorry to hear that. We do try our best to publish relevant and independent advice to homebuyers, sellers and owners. But it can be tricky to anticipate specific questions. You can always send us a message with your question to hello@hoa.org.uk, leave a message using the chat box on our website or leave a comment on the relevant article. I hope you find what you are looking for! Paula
