“Superb chicken. Best you can buy. My last order they were all rather small, around 1kg whereas previous order had a mixed size with majority at nearly 1.5kg so much less total weight this time. Perhaps it’s the time of year.”

“This was the second year I have had a turkey from Herb Fed. I was disappointed with the presentation of the bird and how it had been cleaned the first time but appreciated the ethos of this provider. And the bird was exceptionally tasty. I spoke to one of the owners before ordering this year and decided to give them a second chance. It was the same story - lots of quills left in the skin - not just fine feathers that would burn off. The inside had not been properly cleaned - lots of innards left and dirt inside. I will go elsewhere in 2025.”

Hi, We are sorry to hear this as we have had 100's of wonderful reviews. As you will know we dry pluck the birds which while being a superior method of plucking does mean that some pen feathers can still be seen on the turkey. “First time ordering from Herb fed. Lovely turkey. Beautifully packaged, arrived as promised... on time. Full instructions and a bunch of fresh herbs included. The turkey didn't dissapoint, it had bags of flavour and was succulent. All in all we are very happy with your service and will order again and recommend Herb Fed.”

“I bought a batch of whole chicken and parts, together with a turkey, at the beginning of December 2024. SERVICE was impeccable when I asked questions, typical of a family business. CHICKEN QUALITY was also impeccable in taste, for cooking, and for freezing. It was well packed (be prepared to freeze on same day if carriers dithers with delivery). Chicken wings and breasts are the best I've ever prepared, that's good for someone who first taught his Michelin star chef son when a lad. High in my view is that chickens are not "supermarket chemical birds". TURKEY QUALITY I cannot fully comment on. Wife tried "a thing" with a bird that should have been prepared traditionally and wrecked a very expensive treat. DELIVERY was good, very important. OVERALL, I shall be buy more on a regular basis. A bit more expensive but for bigger birds with quality care the paying of a little extra to protect taste and health is well worth it. Nice people!”

“I bought a rooster for Christmas last year and again this year. The birds were absolutely delicious and it will be our regular Christmas fare from now on! The delivery was exactly on time, the packaging superb and the cooking instructions are the simplest and the best!”
