“Our company have purchased from G&S Timber for a number of years and they really do care. On occassion when unforseen issues have arisen they have contacted us either by phone or email to ensure we receive the best alternatives or solution possible. This is the difference when dealing with a small, family run business, you get to deal with real people who care :)”

“I ordered 4 x 15mm Oak Dowels to make handles for a chest of drawers. The quality of the wood was exceptional, beautiful colour and grain and perfectly cut and finished. The only problem was the EXCESSIVE charge for shipping and handling - 5 times the cost of the items ordered!! Hence the 3 stars review. But unfortunately I couldn't buy them locally. G&S use FedEx for delivery, they're efficient but very expensive. I think they should have a much lower shipping charge, or use a cheaper delivery service, for small domestic orders. As a keen DIYer I like the products they offer but as a pensioner I doubt I will be buying from them again.”

Shipping to the Isle of Wight is unfortunately more expensive than standard mainland UK deliveries, particularly for fully tracked courier services. We also have limited access to lower-cost parcel services locally, which restricts the options available to us for small orders. We use FedEx because they provide a reliable and secure service for timber products, helping ensure orders arrive safely and on time. “G&S Specialist Timber is a very professional and accommodating company. Matt B went above and beyond to make sure I was able to receive my Pfeil Woodcarving Tools that I ordered in a timely fashion. I highly recommend them and will use them for any future purchases without hesitation. Might I add I live in the United States and the package was well wrapped and arrived in perfect condition.
