“18mm Oak dowels arrived the following day despite having the standard delivery option. Package was well wrapped and protected against possible damage in transit. I have used G&S Specialist Timber several times over the years for various timber products, they have never let me down in anyway. Highly recommend them - well priced, fair delivery options (usually exceed delivery times) and most importantly good timber quality”

“I couldn't praise G&S Specialist Timber enough. I had a problem with delivery - through no fault of theirs. - and then needed to make an alteration and re order. The first delivery took a week BUT the second delivery was problem free and happened exactly as stated. Everything was sorted out immediately by G&S - both advice on the product and refunding. They were extremely helpful and very easy to contact.”

“Asked a question and got a response very quickly. Ordered and I believe it was sent same day. Delivered the next day. Excellent considering it was 2.4m long. Well packaged. Quality of the wood was amazing. I’m a customer service manager and I really couldn’t fault any part of the process. Well done to all involved to provide a service like this in 2026”

“I have used G&S timber a few times since I started carving. I've bought 9 phiel chisels and lime wood over the online ordering service, sometimes with the order arriving in less than 24 hrs.I have alot of very old chisels which are far superior to most modern chisels but I find that the phiel carving chisels are equal to them with a good edge that stays sharp and just a stroop keeps a good edge just the same as my 100 year plus chisels. I'm currently working on a greenman and bought these 4 small phiel chisels for tidying up. Thanks. Martin.”

“I purchase regularly from G&S, as a furniture manufacturer where deadlines seem to be getting tighter and tighter we sometimes simply run out of time to machine certain profiles, finding G&S to help in those moments was the best thing for us. “Purchased set of Pfeil gouges. Good price. Initial problem with purchase quickly resolved with friendly chat with excellent staff member. Order processed and despatched promptly and arrived in 48hrs with royal mail. Very well packaged (almost too well ;) ). Overall 5star service and very happy. Will return shop in the future.”
