A couple of the 15mm lime blanks that I ordered are slightly warped but not cracked. So they are usable but could be better.

Good afternoon, Thank you for your review, we are sorry if the blanks arrived slightly warped. If you can please send us some images of this and we will look into this for you. We can also see on your product review regarding the free delivery not being clear, we have tried to make the customers aware as much as possible and the website has at the top of every page a countdown timer and a link saying delivery information, we also have it on every page just below the header saying Free Delivery on Most orders over £80.00, we are sorry if this was missed. Order arrived earlier than expected which was great. Prime grade as advertised, again great. Five of ten boards flat and machined well. Five bowed badly, stick marks showed only supported at ends while drying, middle stick missing. Shame otherwise 5 star.

Nice piece of walnut, alas not very accurately machined -- 35mm dowel measures 35.8mm, so fitting into a hole made by a 35mm Forstner bit requires some tedious fettling. Claimed tolerance of +/-0.4mm isn't really very good, and still missed.

I have ordered several batches of dowel over the last few years. I need these to be very straight for the purpose I use them for. Unfortunately, some of the longer 2400 lengths have been bent and warped. I appreciate that there may be some slight warping, but it would be good if you could please inspect future orders to try and ensure as straight as possible. Thanks

Hi, We are sorry that some of the 18mm dowels are bent and warped, unfortunately this will always happen due to the small diameter and the timber picked. Tulipwood is the softest hardwood we offer and the fact the diameter is small relative to the length at this diameter the dowel will sag unfortunately. Tulipwood is a cheaper dowel for more strength we would recommend Sapele or Beech in this diameter but unfortunately at 2400mm long and 18mm diameter the dowels will sometimes sag. I have to admit that I was not that happy with product. To be entirely honest, I expected far more for the extra price. However, ahntough in general the blades were very sharp, the tips were eitehr burred and so had to be ground down to make them workable or there was a fraction missing and so the points did not come a sharp point that I had expected and thus, this made the blade less effective. I was considering asking for a refund as I I had bouught the set of 3 blades and another separate one so that I had a whole set of the four, but apart from these limits and hopefully they will improve their quality control as it really needs to be vastly improved, they cut even poor quality basswood very well. Having said the above, I would be dubious about recommending this product by Flexcut and as I have bought a lot of Flexcut products in the past and I found them to be a tad overpriced for what they are, I was very disappointed at having bought what I thought was the best blades on the market. From my experience, the tips of the blades need to be montorered with far greater care!

Regarding the lead time we advertise a 14 - 18 working day lead time currently but I can see your order was dispatched on the 8th working day. The response time and postage excellent Two of the three dowels were good but one had quite a severe warp, fortunately we only needed two at the full length and can cut most of the warp out which is why we didn’t complain.

Good Service and prompt deliver! However, one of the 5 pieces orderd was a paler shade than the others and it was only after the pieces were glued up into an assembly for carving that I realised that it was a different timber, possibly tulipwood. Too late to backtrack, so I shall have to soldier on and attempt to disguise the difference. This is very disappointing. I am unable to attach a photo in this reviw but will send by separate email

Good morning, Thank you for your review. After looking at the image you have sent us we can confirm all the pieces are lime. As lime is a natural timber product there will be colour variation piece to piece. We are sorry it is disappointing for you however our picking team wouldn’t take into account slight colour variations as they will have been unaware that the pieces would be getting laminated together. Dowels arrived very quickly, cannot fault that. 3 of the 10 had knots in though & weren't able to be used. Overall I would say these are fair value for the prices.

Wood delivery on time, but delivered to a neighbour's house rather than mine, with no note through door ar any communication. DPD's fault rather than G&S. At least my neighbour brought the parcel round for me.

I have recently order 10 of these for project in two separate orders . Out these three have internal splits in critical places and I have had to use them for smaller projects and will have to order some more but you have none left.I appreciate you cant see these but it's a bit anoying.

I have used G&S a few times now, always without any problem. This time was different: the delivery was frankly hopeless. I wish you could go back to DPD - never had any problem with them! I have a feeling the delivery may have been more than 5 days but less than 7 days, which your system below does not cater for.

Good morning, Thank you for your review, I have looked into the delivery for you and can see the delivery was only 2 working days. The order was placed on Thursday the 1st at 20.22pm and dispatched on the Friday. As you had not requested a weekend delivery the earliest delivery date would be the Monday, when the parcel arrived at the nearest Fedex depot there is was an issue with the label which meant the parcel was delayed until the Tuesday and was delivered at lunchtime. We are sorry there was a 1 day delay with your parcel. Kind regards G&S

Very responsive company. My orders have always turned up the next day, and they respond to emails very quickly. I had been happy with everything so far, but a recent order not being as described, and then the attitude being that i should expect that, is what has soured my opinion.

Good afternoon, Thank you for your review, as we said via email the banksia nuts are a natural product in this case the nuts dip in diameter in the middle this is the way that nut has formed and is out of our control. Although the nut goes thin its still 280mm long so is a large nut. We asked you to return them for a full refund or replacement, but you declined. Unfortunately, your review isn’t fair we replied to you within 30 minutes and we are more than happy to replace or refund if they are returned to us. Sadly all retail shops have to have the items returned to issue replacements or refunds. Kind regards G&S

Haven't received it yet. A van turned up at the time allocated, the driver went in the back, didn't deliver anything and drove off again Still not delivered I can't submit this without filling in other fields so will just tick poor although this has no reflection on your product, just the delivery

G&S staff were helpful and their despatch was quick but they were let down by the appalling "DX overnight delivery" service which took 4 days! I complained directly to DX by phone & online but there was no response or follow-up which was no surprise, considering their many 1-star reviews. I've bought from G&S twice before when they were using DPD but I wouldn't bother again if DX remains their carrier.

Good morning, Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you have issues with the delivery from DX, Sadly after Covid DPD no longer allowed us to send liquids with them anymore, meaning we had to look at other couriers for this. We have looked at the tracking and can see that your parcel was shipped on the Thursday and delivered on the Monday, sadly DX don't class Saturdays and Sundays as standard delivery days and if you try to contact them on this days there will be no one available to look into it also. If a customer has any delivery issues we would always suggest contacting ourselves as we have a dedicated customer service team and our enquiries are prioritised.
