Received vine weevil nematodes fine but although applying as instructed I still had many vine weevils appearing. They didn’t seem to work.

Purchased the most expensive CATWATCH cat deterrent on the market which has never been very effective . They charged me around £60.00 which is alot of money for a cat deterent . I was tricked into buying it with their " RSPB approved logo they fool and deceive the customer . Avoid this company not honest and genuine ! Avoid at all costs !

Customer service is awful. Brought a product, contaced customer service for advice as the produce purchased didnt work and never heard a thing back. No help what so ever and the item I purchased (wormery) was useless and a waste of £100. Avoid. I will never be using again.

my partner has ordered phytoseiulus from this company on my behalf 5 times in the last year. on 2 occassions the tubes have arrived and been empty. what the hell is going on ? it seems theres a total lack of quality control in this company, someone should be checking what they are sending out, twenty quid for a tube of wheat dust, im so angry about this and will never buy anything from this company again. oh and dont bother with emailing to complain, they dont bother to reply, you have to ring to get some sort of answer or excuse, yes you will get a refund or they send you more but you then get them 2 weeks after you first ordered.

Ordered Lace Larvae-x 500 - only seen around 3-4 of them instead of 500 as promised, rest are buckwheat husks. Support told that they are hiding well, I did check closely and nobody except that couple ones was there - applied as in instructions - nobody came out. After the last e-mail - no response. Also, delivery was after week - where instructions say to open in one day time after sending out... Do NOT buy!

Thanks for the message and the larvae are tiny as they are newly hatched but the good news is they are very hungry and they will soon tuck into your aphids and then mature, pupate, tun into adults and breed. I am sorry you are unhappy with your purchase as I do send lots out each week and receive very few complaints. It is very difficult to spot the larvae and I normally have to tip them out onto a sheet of white paper to check each delivery - it is much easier to see if the pest problem is improving as it is easier to gauge the success by the lack of pests rather than spotting the lacewings as they will be off doing what we want them to do i.e. feeding and breeding. If you are still unhappy please let me know and I will arrange either top replace them (they will be the same size) or a refund. I have not had an email regarding this order otherwise I would have replied directly. Kind regards Jon @ Green Gardener.

I ordered 50 ladybirds and, although they advertise on their website that they do not supply harlequin ladybirds, only native British ones, I found quite a few harlequins in my order! Very disappointed. The harlequin ladybirds are invasive and harmful to the native ones. False advertising as well!

Thanks for the message and I can reassure you that we do only supply Adalia Bipuctata 2 spot ladybirds and not harlequin ladybirds. Harlequin ladybirds vary enormously in appearance, which can make them difficult to tell apart from our native ladybirds. Harlequins are larger than our native ladybirds and can be up to 1cm in length - if a ladybird is less than 5mm then it is NOT a harlequin. The 2 most common colourings for Harlequins are orange with 21 black spots or black with two red spots - not to be confused with the melanic form of the 2-spot ladybird, which we supply, which is black with four or six red spots! I hope this helps to put your mind at rest. Kind regards Jon @ Green Gardener

This is my first order with Green Gardener. I spoke to customer service this morning about microscopic Ladybird Larvae I purchased & that I was dissapointed. The colleague of GG said the Ladybird Larvae were very small but I said they were microscopic & smaller than a pin head and that you would need a powerful microscope to see the Ladybird Larvae. I heard all about how she had brought Ladybird Larvae herself & put the larvae in several paper envelopes around her allotment & now she has ladybirds. She suggested I call back in a week. I've been completely fobbed off!

I am sorry you are unhappy with your purchase as I do send out hundreds of packs a week and receive very few complaints. I suspect you were asked to wait a week to see if the pest problem was improving as it is easier to gauge the success by the lack of pests rather than spotting the ladybirds as they will be off doing what we want them to do i.e. feeding and breeding. Ordered 100 Ladybird Larvae at a cost of £19.95. We are extremely disapointed because Ladybird Larvae is extremely microscopic. You would need a very powerful microscope to actually see the Ladybird Larvae. The Larvae was sent in a plastic container with a small amount of white shredded paper containing Ladybird Larvae which looked like very tiny black specks to the naked eye & certainly didn't look like 100 Larvae. I've ordered 100 earth worms online & tiger worms etc in the past for our garden from a different supplier, with which we've been pleased with so we are used to ordering garden products online. Unfortunately I am not satisfied on this occasion because the Ladybird Larvae are extremely microscopic & nothing like the pictures advertised on your web page; unless you have a very powerful microscope to hand!

The ladybird larvae arrived promptly, they were minute which I assume is because early in the season. However, when I read the instructions I realised that there was no point buying them, as they advise not to release them where farmer ants have colonised the plant. ALL my shrubs have farmer ants. Why would green gardener only tell you this after you have bought them and not before? Presumably because it would greatly affect sales. This is tantamount to false advertising. Also they sell the larvae with or without release bags, but if you don't purchase bags it is impossible to get the larvae to stay on the plants in windy weather. You are told to place them on the lower leaves but the confetti-like paper either blows away or drops to the ground. I fashioned my own bags but there is now no sign of larvae but plenty of aphids and ants! What a waste of money...you have to be green indeed to buy this, in the sense of inexperienced and naive...I will know better next time.

Recently ordered a nematode applicator for (I think) £39. It was hopeless. I have no idea if I distributed the nematodes correctly and I suspect not. I have used the nematodes every year for a while and they have always worked. I emailed Green Gardener but have had no reply. I am sorry to have to give them a bad mark because things have always been fine before.

As always delivered on time and with comprehensive how to use directions. Also with a good shelf life. Just hope the product works in the current dip in temperature.

I would strongly advise anyone not to buy the Catwatch Cat deterrent from this company. The company claim it is approved by rspb the truth is it does not work and is not effective. It is the most expensive Cat deterrent on the market so it will hurt you in the pocket . A few pounds fair enough but this cat deterrent is the most expensive on the market so do not be deceived or misled . I strongly advise stay clear of this company and deal with a honest reputable company ! I have passed this on to trading standards .

Thanks for the message and sorry you are not happy with the Catwatch. It is more expensive than others on the market, but normally it works very well. Please feel free to return the until for a full refund (I can supply a FREEPOST address, so no postage) if you are not happy and will return it to the manufacturer to see why it was not working. Kind regards Jon @ Green Gardener

Hi David - Thanks for the message and I remember this one and I posted the replacements, so I know the right product went, which prompted me to check our stock and one of my colleagues has attached the wrong label to the correct product - sorry. Thanks for bringing this to my attention and I have now removed the labels. The good news is that all 4kg of lawn fertiliser you have is the correct Autumn Fertiliser, so please go ahead and apply at 35g per sqm and any you do not use this year will keep until next year. Kind regards Jon @ Green Gardener

I purchased a box tree moth trap because having done my research they said that theirs lasted longer than any other make, which would mean that I wouldn't have to remember to change the lure every 6 weeks. I set up the trap but despite there being plenty of moths in the garden none were being trapped. I sent an email asking for advice about the best height to hang the trap but didn't ever get a reply. As there were so many moths in the garden I decided to buy a different make of moth trap. The moths seem to come in waves and the Green Gardener trap caught one compared to the other trap which caught 5, and they were situated very close to each other. I then sent another email to Green Gardener asking for their comments and if I could return the trap because it clearly wasn't as good as the other trap I had purchased. I still have not had a reply. I was also very disappointed to see that on their website they are selling the trap at around £27 but on Amazon they have reduced their price to £19.99. So I am disappointed in the price, the performance of the trap and the lack of follow up care from Green Gardener.

To : Cate O From : Jonathan Thanks for the message and sorry you have not had a good experience with the trap. I am not sure who you have been contacting at Green Gardener but this is the first I am hearing about this. In answer to your comments, I would love to talk to you about the experience with the trap as all the other feedback has been very encouraging, Can you call me on 01394 420922 or email me your number (jon@greengardener.co.uk) and I will ring you? We only sell the long life lure on Amazon so it is £19.99 but you do not get a trap included ONLY the lure and this is MORE expensive than the lure only on Green Gardener i.e. we sell it for £18.99. I would rather try and work out why it was not working but I am happy for you to return it for a refund but please email me (again jon@greengardener.co.uk) and I will forward you a FREEPOST label. Kind regards Jon @ Green Gardener 01394 420922

despite vigorously stirring contents of pack in 4 litres of water the "powder" formed a gelatinous suspension and when 500 cc of this solution was added to the watering can it blocked the rose and so was unusable and could not be sprinkled. So it just had to be thrown about with a jug
