“Glasgow Distillery make some of the finest scotch whisky in my opinion. I have criticised the delivery firm for incorrect messages leading to wasted time previously, but this time there was no messages and they managed to catch me in with a fast early morning delivery. So instead of losing 4 points because of incorrect messages they only lose one point for no messages.”
“Discount offered was good and package was dispatched quickly. Only issue was UPS did not have the option to pick parcel up from a collection point. As there’s one round corner from me and I wasn’t going to be home when delivery was made. The only option was to collect from their warehouse which is miles away. Are you not able to activate pick up point collection for people as not everyone is home Monday to Friday to take delivery? Luckily my wife had a day off and was able to take the parcel in at the second attempt or I would have had to return to sender”
“It seemed a fairly straightforward on line ordering process with the usual forms to fill in…
However on the final page, immediately prior to my payment being processed, I noticed that the ´different’ delivery address had not transferred correctly. I tried twice more but each time the page stated that my order would be delivered to my own address (noted as the billing address)!
So watch out for that one and check that last page carefully!
I did try to speak to someone at the distillery to query this glitch and left a message, later followed up by an email, but did not hear back. Perhaps they were just short staffed that week but a response would have been good.
However, the following morning, I tried again.
This time all was noted correctly and the order went through successfully with a confirmation email immediately received.
I followed up with an email asking that contact be made with the recipient re delivery date and time as a signature was required. My request was obviously duly noted - though I received no acknowledgment - as within a couple of days the ordered bottle of Makar Mulberry Gin efficiently arrived at the delivery address accompanied by the gift note I had ordered, with our greeting written in a very attractive script which was much appreciated.
So a slightly haphazard ordering process but I am sure the taste of this very special Glasgow gin will be worth it.
One day I will try some myself!”
“No issues with Distillary but had with courier fIrm they use, UPS. Stated i was not in and left at local shop over mile away to collect...i was in all day. Shop owner said drivers are lazy, regularly say people not in and leave parcels at shop so they can finish early”

“Having decided to purchase a bottle of 1770 whisky I drove to the distillery in Glasgow to make my purchase. However on arrival at what I presumed was the shop I was told that I could only order online. This I did and received my order 2 days later. My concern is why can the distillery not sell bottles from the premise when there in person forcing you to pay p&p for a delivery. How many times has this been a missed opportunity for sales?”
“I purchased a limited edition of the Coopers Cask but when it arrived the carton was damaged however the problem was resolved without fuss and a replacement sent within a few days great service”
“The buying process was hindered by the demand which I guess wasn't anticipated, therefore the website kept crashing. I wasn't sure I managed to buy one until I got the confirmation email. However, delivery was prompt. My loyalty points were not applied to my account following the purchase though. I had to converse with customer services to rectify that. Not my first purchase from Glasgow, and wont be my last.”
“Order was easy to make and delivery was very prompt. The service was exactly as I would have hoped. It would be useful if the process allowed a customer to state a day/ date for delivery: good for sending gifts.”
“To be honest, we haven't tried the gin yet but, after trying the unpeated 1770, I had to give the pleated a go. This is one of the nicest whiskies I have tasted, it just keeps on giving, very pleased with it.”
“The valentine cocktail package was great, well packaged and delivered quickly. The only small downside for me was it wasn’t exactly packaged as was shown on the website, so didn’t quite have the same presentation on the day. Altogether it was great though, and would purchase again.”
“I’d purchased the Makar Cherry gin spritz kit, only to find there was no cocktail Recipe card included in the box. Had to search for the recipe online, which was a bit of a pain. The drinks included were delicious and would buy again as I’m keen to support local businesses. Would have been a five star review if I’d had the recipe card!”
