“They are awful if you use a comparison site they always come out on top which you think is great! One word "RUN" numerous problems with my direct debit! Had plenty of money in bank and on more than 3 or so occasions they tried to say unable to take money! And then try to charge you 26 quid ontop!!! But the worst part is they are backed by creation finance (awful too) they provide your monthly payment credit! And if there's any delay in getting hold of your no claims discount they just cancel your policy after you've paid a hefty deposit! Poor customer service too!! Pay afew quid more month and go with a recognized company wish I had at first.”

Was told they needed a vast amount of information 2 days after buying the insurance policy. Got them all the relevant information to receive an email days later stating 'they are unable to except NCB.'
Got on the phone to my old insurance got even more documents and emails stating I had 2 years NCB. Emailed this through once again. Low and behold they are unable to expect the NCB.
So to anyone thinking of using Goskippy don't! They should be called GoSkatty.”

“After reading all of these terrible reviews and the experience I have had with this company I am very suspicious of Go Skippy! My son and I insured online two weeks ago, paid and the documents came through within minutes. They have now informed us that they are going to cancel our policy because of "a discepency in the length of my son's licence !!!!! What's that all about Go Skippy ????????? He has A FULL, CLEAN licence for 6 years and has sent them proof of that. I have had my licence 50 years. Neither of us have EVERY been refused insurance. What game are you playing Go Skippy ????? They are now going to charge a £50 administration fee plus pro rata rate for the time the licence has been valid. What are you up to ?????? This is disgraceful behaviour and needs investigating by the sites they advertise on !”
“I paid for a policy online through go compare and started to drive my vehicle after receiving confirmation of the payment and was advised I'd have my insurance info via email in 48 hours. One week later I had a refund. It turns out I wasn't insured at all. I rang them and they didn't know who I was, didn't know my vehicle but had my £417 payment for a years insurance. Concerned much? After speaking to 15 different people to find it what was going on, apparently the underwriters tried to call me as they had a question but as I didn't answer they gave me my money back. Devastated that I'd been driving my car uninsured for a week with my 2 year old daughter in the back for a week I immediately insured with someone else. A few days later I had an email with policy details from go skippy. Confused much? I hadn't paid for this policy and didnt need it. They're now trying to charge me a £40 cancellation fee. Tragic company and extremely dangerous to road users. Lauren in Swansea”
“Insisted I cancelled an existing policy that had ten days to go- even though I had just reinsured another new car. Thus losing me another years ncd AND made me pay a documentation fee. Then tried to charge me for 'undisclosed speeding points'- even though I was caught speeding 6 months AFTER i took out their policy! Didn't return calls or emails. I will never. Ever. Use them again. The only thing they were good at was chasing their documentation fee and threatening me with a debt collection agency if I didn't pay. Shocking. Appalling. Useless.”
“Everything went well when it came to getting insured and them making me sign an agreement. I then called them for the first time to let them know I changed my license plate. I was on phone for 1 hour 23 minutesand 38 seconds! I was in a queue.
Now, i dont even think there was a queue. They can go skip da f**K. I am cancelling and have already got a representative from BBC watchdog coming to visit me as they are doing a show on car insurance companies and the service offered. Now we are soon all going to know what GO skippy is about. I bet they they respond to the BBC!”
“What an absolutely terrible, frustrating company. I was told online i was not able to add someone to my policy because they were a childminder and i was to call customer service. Once i did they said they will call me back within 48 hours with a new quote as they are a broker. Waited over a week, no call. I call back only to be told customer service will call me within 2 hours. Funny enough they didn't so i chased them, they put my call through to all the wrong departments, customer services then out me through to renewals as they had no clue what to advise me. Even tried the online chat, they was even like a brick wall. So now i an stuck being told i have to wait to be called back..... i've been waiting over a week. They are also saying i have to pay 75gbp to cancel my policy. Utter rubbish, do not even use!”
“I called to change my policy address. They added £59.40 to the policy as the area is more likely to have crime I guess? To me it is a safer area but whatever. I'll pay that.
Then tried to charge an administration fee of £50 to change the address on my policy! I outright refused and the operator spoke to her manager then offered to reduce the admin fee to £25. I refused point blank to pay that too and advised that I would inform the ombudsman at this procedure. Administration fees I charge at my place of work directly reflect the time it takes to complete the administration and I literally heard her complete it on the phone to me in 2 minutes. Outrageous.
They waived it 'kindly' with a threat that any further administrative charges would be upheld.
I am writing this because i am so incensed. Another person may have been vulnerable to their threats of cancellation of a policy and bullied into paying. Consult the CBA if you have to, their T&Cs are actually outrageous and unlikely to stand up.”

* Cancellation of policy following a misunderstanding i.e. by trade I am a scientist- but currently work in nursing home while I finish my research Masters.
* On hold for a min, of 45 minutes followed by multiple periods of being put on hold post-answering of said phone

“Recently took out policy with them, had to send of proof of address which I have never been asked for from any other insurer, explained I am moving address have no internet and details wont be changed until the 12/04/17, receive text on 11/04/17 that insurance was cancelled, whilst i was driving a 160 mile journey home from Leicester to South Wales with my 6 month pregnant fiancee in the car and 2 year old daughter.
