“Go skippy insurance is a disgrace! We bought car insurance from them and paid in full using an ex mates card to pay. We had to cancel our policy due to them not been able to cover everything that we required on the policy. We were told for months that they have issued a cheque which never came through. They now claim they have refunded card holder and left the policy holder out of pocket! I fully believe that this scamming company have pocketed the refund knowing fully well that the policy holder is not on speaking terms with the card holder!”

“DO NOT USE THIS INSURER - I would urge anyone not to take out a policy with GoSkippy for the following reasons.
They charged me £50 to change my address. They tried to take my direct debit payment early and then charged me for missing the payment?! My policy was renewed automatically at a much higher price although I made no claims. I then queued for over 20 minutes on a premium rate number trying to cancel my policy. They informed me that I would be charged £75 to cancel the policy. I then received an email saying they would aim to cancel my policy within the next 10 days meaning I will pay for another 10 days insurance which I never wanted in the first place.”
“They hope you make an error with how long you've had your licence, no claims. They will increase the dramatically. The use the new quote to charge you for the short time you were with them. They just exhaust the two months insurance you paid up front.
Do not use them. I lost 300 pounds in a week. It is worthwhile paying slightly expensive with a better alternative.”
“I insured my car with go skippy last year, no problems as i never had to make a claim or contact them for any reason. Policy came up for renewal, email came through with new price which was almost double last years quote! email stated to renew please call our renewal hotline as policies are NOT automatically renewed, chose a different insurer and cancelled the old skippy direct debit, 2 months later email received saying i am in arrears on my policy as they have not been able to collect my direct debit, i emailed back to advise i didnt renew so cannot be in arrears, received another email back repeating please call us you are in arrears! they didnt even bother to read my email, they just want money! which i dont owe as i didnt renew, asked for proof of renewal and got another your in arrears email! i replied AGAIN repeating i didnt renew and i am now waiting for another your in arrears email, i refuse to call their outrageous call charge number and to speak with someone who barely speaks english, Go SKippy fine if you dont need to claim or have to talk to them so all in all absolute rubbish!”
“I have drove my car now for 11 years new always gotta change the insurance company coz it seems to go hire each year instead of going cheaper but I have had big big probblams with go skippy they never received my documents 3 times nw they said they not received them then take a last payment alright little bushes this take my deposits 2times take mour payments got told the mangers would ring me 24 house time then 48 nw its been 54 hours still not herd out hmmm”
“This is the worse car insurance company to deal with. What looked like a good deal, has turned into a nightmare. Having sent my documents again and again, they kept emailing asking for one or the other, despite having sent all more than three times. Then I received an email stating I had to pay over £130 due to a discrepancy on my licence pass date. I'm in my sixth year earning NCD, as each year since having insurance my papers prove. But go skippy want more money and admin fee. Less than 24 hours of having taken the policy and me being informed of the hideous charges, I emailed back requesting the cancellation and money refunded having paid over £500 for the year.
But they are refusing my cancellation request and refusing to refund my money since yesterday, instead emailing me and still asking for a copy of the counterpart licence, which I sent how many times God knows.
This is no different to theft. I haven't even used the car and should have been refunded yesterday. Now it's nearly the weekend and who knows when I will get my money which in turn is going to leave me uninsured until I get my money back.
I hope everyone who has been ripped off by this company contacts watchdog as I am will.”

“appalling level of customer service and on top of that these guys are master are cheating you. When you are looking for a quote at any of the comparison websites you will receive unlimited calls from them and even offers to sell you at a price lower than what is being quoted onlines and once you become a customer is when you see the realities behind it. Everytime you call customer service you are in a queue waiting for at least 45 mins to an hour and number 45 or 55 in the queue. Once you are finally connected is that when you are told that you need to speak to the other department and since we are very busy at this time I will arrange a callback for you which never happens by the way. I bought cover from them on 14th March and have just cancelled it yesterday reason being that never received certificate of insurance which whenever I called them was told that will be sent via email shortly. Secondly they ask you to send you their driving license and counpterpart copy, after getting my driving license they sent me a note saying that based on the review we have increased your insurance premium by 154 pounds which was absurd as I had nothing wrong in either my driving history, address or any information that I had given them when I bought the cover. Lastly when I submitted the cancellation request I was told that cancellation fee of 50 pounds would apply and since I was paying monthly another 50 pounds would apply as credit arrangement cancellation fee. I should have never opted for them in the first place thinking that would end up saving 150 to 200 pounds. I paid 155 as the first installment and now they have replied back saying that all of that has been adjusted in various charges and the 16-17 day cover that I used and I have nothing due for refund so here goes the experience of trying to save something on car insurance by betting on GoSkippy.”
“if you go too muh money then insure with go shitty and they will take care to take the surplus money from you ! They apear as the heapest and then after a while they start charging comisions and depsits much higher then they originally quoted ! Cancelled the insurane with them, took away all deposits .. cancelling fees ..after a mounts the charged one again 260 pounds, called them and after 20 pounds spent on 1 phone all bother to answer and tell me that 260 pounds are some fees and deposit that they seed they didn't charged ..after 550 pounds spent on 1,5 mounts insurane with go shitty more than 50 pounds spent on phone calls trying to rich then counts as small money”
“Customer service with this company is very very bad , there staff don't know what they are doing . I cancelled my policy withing 3 months after renewing my car insurance , they got they date and time wrong I wanted to cancell on , they said there would only be a £50 cancellation fee when I renewed because I told them I won't be on this policy for long, but there saying there is outstanding balance of £237 this is including cancelation fee. They didn't say anything about that , so they give you wrong information. When I cancelled they asked for my car insurance certificate back , I sent it them , they then said we don't need it anymore. I asked for my proof of no claims , they sent that wrong , TWICE !! Once they finally sent me my correct proof of no claims after many emails and about 2 weeks. They then sent me these letter saying there's an outstanding balance and they wouldn't provide me with proof of no claims until i pay ! BUT THEY ALREADY HAVE ! I asked for a breakdown of why I owe you money , and what they sent me looked like a 5year old had put it together and proved to me even more why I don't owe them anyway money . ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING AND SHOULDNT BE ALLOWED TO BE COMPANY !!!”
