“After 10 months on this insurance.
1- change the address of my house, 50 £ some hours needed to do this simple process.
2- I receive a letter from DVLA advirtinedome that I do not have insurance, when contacting the company I discover that the registration of c has a different letter.
When contacting with goskippy they tell me that the herror is mine and that I have secured another car of the same characteristics. (Something impossible).
I'm charged £ 50
3- With the intention of changing cars I ask (try) to ask for a quote, after a few days, I give up, the owner has already sold it to someone else.
4- My car breaks, I decide to buy another, I can not change the insurance of my old car to the new one, or Saturday, or Sunday, or Monday, or Tuesday ...... maybe Wednesday?
Definitely is a waste of time.

“Im so upset, ive been trying to cancel my insurance since the 11/1/2017 its now the 23/1/2017 and still no luck on my cancellation, previously on the 11/1/2017 i phoned to see how the whole cancelation process worked and i was advised to send a email with all my details (address, name, dob, email and contact number along with my policy details) etc. I sent all the required information regarding the cancellation. I recieved a email stating that due to data protection laws the policy will not be cancelled. I phoned the next morning and a lady called samantha advised me she will send out a manual cancelation form. She never sent that cancelation form and my bank got charged, so i called back up and i repeated the whole process even down to the email and nothjng got done. Ive tried the process 3 times now and its still not done. I dont know what to do please help i want my policy canceled and anything owed to me. I paid £360 on the 20/12/2017 for this policy surley it sould be canceled as soon as i ask and any outstanding mones owed to me minus and admin charges applied”

“I joined go Skippy in late Nov 2006 give details of me and other driver, got letters from them saying insurance to be cancelled and trying to change me 100 quid extra .In the end I think it was a con every time I tried to love this all I got told unable to alter there computers down ,u r phoning south Africa to talk to someone and as it is Africa is the highest fraud place going and we are giving our card details over to anyone we talk to,today I changed my car 23/1/17 yes u got it charged 130gbps extra for a 3 year older car .Told at 11.30am I was sent via email new cover its now 3.39 pm still nothing unable to tax car pure help from them all I can say to u is phone the British company who one this Skippy ,and report them to ombudsman and trading standards .aAlan tweddell.”

“If I could give this company 0 I, without a doubt, would!! I wish I had read all these reviews before taking a policy out with these FRAUDSTERS!!
I had taken a policy out with 'GoSkippy' which of course was the cheapest on the comparison site at £387 for my 1.2L Polo.
My first problem.. A few weeks later I phoned to add someone to my policy as a named driver but when I looked into the policy details, they had spelled the name wrong after numerous attempts at spelling it out to them. I then phoned to change it and was charged £50 for a mistake on their behalf.
My second problem.. I had decided to get a new car and had to remove my personalised registration plate from the car and replace with the original plate. I phoned up to notify 'GoSkippy' of this and they charged me £50 administration fee. So I then explained I was in the process of changing my car over and explained I will be putting another registration plate on my new car when I get it and they told me that would be another 2 administration fees of £50. I challenged them on this and they said they would waver those charges as I had already paid a £50 fee.. GREAT!!
No, no, no.. NOT SO GREAT! Third problem.. I got my new car, 4 months into my existing policy, and phoned to change vehicle on my policy and was then told that this was not possible due to the grouping of the car. All they could do was give me a new annual quote for my 1.2L car.. £1697!!!!!!! Same engine as my previous car but over 4x the price to insure.
FOURTH PROBLEM.. I asked if I would be refunded for the remaining 8 months left on my policy and they told me of course however we will have to deduct the cancellation fee. To my understanding, it was no fault of mine. Preferably, I would have paid the difference to change vehicle had it not been £1697. It was 'GoSkippy' who told me that it was impossible to change the vehicle on my policy and said I would have to start a new policy!!
SO I CAN REST ASSURED I WILL NOT BE A CUSTOMER NOR WILL I BE RECOMMENDING GO SKIPPY TO ANYONE!!!!”
“1. Demanded a copy of my driving licence to 'prove' I had a licence and also to provide confirmation from DVLA, I've been driving 25 years and never had this requested before.
2. They sent me several letters and emails stating they would cancel my policy if I didn't provide the above.
3. They sent me an email saying they have cancelled my policy one Sunday afternoon when their offices were closed, apparently at my request??? When I eventually got through by phone the next day it turned out they had got my policy 'mixed up' with someone else's policy, how can this possibly happen?? Total amateurs.
4. It takes an absolute age to get through on the phone to discuss anything and when you finally do get through you speak with a total amateur with no professionalism whatsoever.
Avoid this company whatever the cost, I'm sure they won't be around for long.”

“AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I paid £250 in advance for 2 months temp cover on my car for my dad I paid in full no detect debt I told them two months only and I was paying in full the insurence should of ran out on the 2/01/17 but suprise suprise I checked my account and on the 2/01/17 they took £250 more out of my account I rang my bank witch told me this was fraud and I had to block my account over the phone PLEASE AVOID THERE CONMEN”

“bad customer service, is an understatement, to begin with, they place you on hold for over 30 minutes and after tell you they will call back in 20 minutes ... but never do.
I was going to get my car insurances with this company today, but after reading the reviews and experiencing the awful customer service. I WILL NOT be getting my insurances with GOskippy.
I rather pay £250-300 more and go with a company with good reviews and that have actually have trained their staffs appropriately.
In my opinion, DO NOT get your INSURANCES with GOskippy.

“If I could star this a 0 god knows I would . first problem could not do my insurance online so phoned them .there untrained advisor did mine over the phone all my details I was then told this never happens so they have seen a discrepancy on my cliam charging me £150 did not paid had it cleared .second problem there rep did not put I had 3 points on my licence and guess what ...yep another fee again not my fault 3rd time asked for my no claims bonus proof as informed I had to wait for my old insurance company to send proof so I could email it to them . still waiting and noe they want £235.74 off me .I had lots of addons win screen repair key replacement etc told them to take it all of and go back to basic £88 per month but I was told they could take the addons off but I would still be charged £92 per month not my original price of £88 so charging me for a product I don't have well done .4 emails later 5 letters telling in seven days my insurance will be cancelled .thanks a bunch go Skippy your s rip off scamming horrid company every one should avoid at all costs please for the love of god don't take insurance out with them and if you have insurance cancel it with them and go else where .they never call you .you have to call them .operators are use less rood and don't know there job customer service is crap and they don't know there UK/EU laws of contracts .. “worse company I have ever had to deal with. Charge you for sneezing in the wrong direction!! rude, unhelpful. Ignore requests for complaints procedures. Ask for my license details proof. send it, a week later, 3 texts, 3 phone calls and 3 emails PER DAY saying they will cancel my policy. Also made a mistake on the online form (my fault) i put the wrong date on license by 1 year for additional driver. an additional premium of £300 to be charged for this! again, asking to complain, the only responses I get are chasing the £300 and not actually answering any of my questions or concerns. Seriously the WORSE company ever had to deal with. Please do not use! Ever! awful company. I have gone to the FOS about these guys, I recommend everyone else do the same”

“Scam and unwilling to help!
I needed to add something to my policy to allow me to claim travel expenses from work. They told me they would have to cancel my policy and take out a new one in order to do this. They would still charge me £50 cancellation fee and the new premium was over £700. My original quote was £275! I told them I would have to go elsewhere and they said they would needed to charge the cancellation fee either way which I have disputed and they came back with generalised email telling me about their policy, and avoided answering or acknowledging my questions. I have no choice other than to cancel and they aren't giving me any options other than their extortionate rates so I feel they should waive the fee. Big surprise, they now don't seem to want to talk to me and won't answer my questions so my policy hasn't been cancelled and I am unable to progress at work. I will proceed with my financial ombudsman if I don't hear anything soon.”

“Please avoid this trashy, thieves. I paid for annual insurance and had the cover for 2 months and then needed to change as I got new car, because of the value of new car had to change policy coverwhich cost an extra £700 more plus adjustment fees. Was going to cancel because I could have got the same cover and more for nearly £400 less. But to save all the hassle and be a loyal customers I then excepted an offer made to split the extra cost with installment and to make a deposit of £239 which I did. Anyway the car I purchase I had problems with and returned and decided to cancel policy which is within the 14 days I have now been charged £524 for 2 months third party cover and 12 days fully com and £124 charges which states on website if before 14 days it's £20. Come o how can they charge £50 for midterm adjustment £ 50 cancellation and £19.95 broker fee??? If these people dealt with me correct I would have insured with them again as I am awaiting to get a new car next week. But no way big liberty they have taken 50% of my money which I paid I full originally for the first cover I had for 2 months cover.”

No matter how much cheaper they may seem please stay clear.
I had to cancel my policy. I received no information from them that I would be charged over £600 for thi until another company contacted me to say they were demanding the money on their behalf. I rang Eldon who say they couldn't give me any information about it so I had to ring go skippy. I did over 50 times, 3 different numbers I tried. Each time not being able to get passed the automated system. If you know the extension number you require please enter it now- well I didn't and it played the same message 5 times before cutting me off without any other option. So I keep trying and after days of trying different options I finally get through to someone. This person can't look into the claim (basically I need to know why I have to pay cancelled insurance the full years premium) aparantly a claim has been made but I will have to ring the claims department. Get given yet another number for the claims department and told the opening hours. One week later after trying everyday I still can't get through. I take to emailing and after the trouble I describe get given another number for the claims department and the opening time. Open until 20:00 mon to Thursday. With my job this is perfect. I ring & ring & ring. Just keeps ringing. I get my partner to ring another number at the same time with no luck. I say try the option to renew your policy I bet they answer, within seconds they do. I tell them I haven't been able to get through so can they put me through to claims dept. Ah they close at 1800. My gosh- frustrated or what. In the mean time I receive solicitors letter saying they will take me to court and or send bailiffs around! I can't win- if I do owe this money then fair enough i will pay but I just need to talk to someone about if a claim has been made against me as I have never been informed of one!
Absolute nightmare!!
Also just to add they just have no clue, had a message on their phones after new year saying they would re open Tuesday. This was still on Friday!
No further along, no option but I will be shouting this from the rooftops not just now but for as long as they are allowed to operate!”

“Everything about Go Skippy feels like a scam. Wish I'd read these reviews before I took out a policy as everything people say is true. I took out a policy for £400 as it was the cheapest on the comparison site... as soon as I send them my no claims discount they increase my policy by another £300 because of a 'discrepancy' even though I have proof of no claims. They have now asked to see the driving license details of everyone on my policy (which is not normal) and from the other reviews sounds like another excuse to rip me off for another few hundred pounds. On top of that I'm not confident that I'm actually insured as the random documents they have provided either have different policy dates on them or are on headed paper from a completely different insurance company.
The call centre is difficult to navigate... for example the payment team do not actually take payments! I would dread having to claim for an accident (which apparently they don't pay out for anyway according to other reviews here).
Avoid and go with a reputable company... not worth the stress and the low quote you are promised soon increases once you've handed over the first batch of cash.”
