This company is the worst insurance company I have ever had the misfortune to deal with and I have had insurance over the last 30 years.
First and foremost you cannot easily contact them. I've tried to call them on numerous occasions and been on hold for anywhere between 20 - 35min before you getting to speak with anyone. The online chat is a robot which is absolutely useless.
Cancelled my policy online, however they kept emailing me to say my car which I had sold was insured twice (by the new owner). Had to call and wait 25mins before speaking with some useless woman who said cancelling online did not mean I had cancelled my policy. Then for cancelling the agreement early they spank you for the most ridiculous amount of money I have ever had to pay (almost the cost of my insurance) and I have only been with them 2 months.”

“Tried to renew but met with difficulty. They have sent me 3 SMS text messages reminding me of my renewal. The number they messaged me on can not take replies. I checked my email as per their instructions and can't find this alleged email they sent me.
I called them on 03448406311 which is the number on their web site and the call is picked up in Durban South Africa by a guy called Valentino who has an Indian voice not a South African accent. I don't believe it is his name because it's not an Indian name.
This guy is asking for my name , post code , DOB which is the usual Contract Joinder malarkey so now I am wary and I tell him so.
He could have sent me an email because they claim they have it.
I didn't trust this guy and hung up.”

“Absolutely ridiculous this company is ,got through after 15 mins waiting for them to answer then just to be told we are experiencing technical problem the same words came out of 5 different operators ,i said you are reading a script with which i was cut off , i only wanted to change my policy to another car and add 2 other vehicles to new policies ,they just lost a good customer .DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS COMPANY SO UNPROFFESIONAL if you do not have enough phone operators employ more, there are thousands of people looking for work , your query page says how long did it take for them to respond , ANSWER ,,,, NEVER,,,”

“Absolute pits of a company !!! Bought a policy / then within a few days they said we have to submit evidence of no claims bonus , which we did.
They then said their "Underwriters were not happy with the evidence we provided and that we were to going to have to go online and get another quote and pay more more money. Spent nearly 2 days trying to speak with somebody when were then informed that our policy was going to be cancelled ( even though we paid 1 years premium in full ) and we were only going to get refunded 60% of our payment. WE HAVE HAD THE POLICY LESS THAN A MONTH !! ABSOLUTE CROOKS”

“Absolute Joke - impossible to contact the company via the telephone.I took a policy and then realised I had made an error and wanted to cancel it within hours.
Impossible to cancel it on line we have to wait try to contact them by phone - you simply go into a queue and sit and wait. In the end a send an email wait days for a reply - then have to pay a cancellation charge
Will never,ever use them again”

“Someone pulled my car , has been damage and I ring Go Skipy insurance. I send the cctv what happened , They advised me to go Mecanic to fix and play smart saying keep the receipt , I take to the mechanic but not successful to fix it. I call back again to the insurance Go Skipy. After one week. I call again they send engineer out they said is Mecanic fault sorry I can’t cover it😏”

“This company is impossible to get in touch with! I've sold my car and have been trying to get in touch with them for over 2 weeks. When you get through on the phone they tell you there's a system issue, and to call back. They advised I can make the changes I want to make online, but I can't, there's no option on the website, so I called back next day and surprise surprise more system issues. They've been saying this all week. I finally had enough tonight, told the call handler I wasn't going to accept this as I just want to cancel my policy, she told me to use the webchat. I've tried that twice and it told me that someone would answer my message during opening hours, then listed the opening hours and guess what, they're supposed to be open! They offer to call you back when the system is working but that never happens. Called today took 4 times to get through without being hung up on and when I told them I wanted to make a claim and that I would be going to the insurance ombudsman they miraculously got me through to someone who has access to the system. Can’t believe they are operating like this and still accepting new customers, the positive reviews must all be people who have yet to try and get in touch with them. Absolute shambles for customer service. I dread to think what would happen if I needed to make a claim. Will never be using GoShitty again!”

“I went from living in a flat in a bad area and parking in a public car park to owning my own home with a driveway and yet my renewal was double what I was paying and so spoke to an agent who said it would be best to let my policy lapse and take out another policy. So I did with go skippy again (only because it was the cheapest offer for instant cover)for basically the same as what I was paying at the flat. What is the point in no claims etc when it doesn't seem to affect the price of the insurance? if I had the choice I certainly wouldn't be using GoSkippy again.”

“BE AWARE!!! Their insurance quotes are the cheapest for a reason. Customer service is non existent as you will be on the phone for hours over multiple days and no one will pick the phone. When someone does they are based in South Africa and will complain how the system is not working and promise to call you back within the hour. This happened to me three times over a week when I am struggling to cancel my policy. Terrible, terrible!!!...you have been warned!”

“Warning: Goskippy's customer service is non-existent! I can't believe how they ignored my emails repeatedly. It's like my concerns don't even matter to them. The staff seems to take pleasure in preventing customers from reaching management, making it clear that they have no regard for our issues. I've never been treated so poorly by an insurance company. Avoid Goskippy like the plague! They don't care about you once they have your money. You're better off with any other insurance provider than subjecting yourself to this horrendous treatment”
