“My 1st time using go skippy, what a terrible company , I had my insurance canceled as they say i hadnt provided the correct documents in time , which i had at my end but they say they needed them 7 days before the the last possible date so they received them in time , All documents were sent by email which is instant , so they canceled , didnt let me know until after 24 later , and then charged me £180 for their mistake , when i asked them to reinstate the insurance they said it couldnt be done. The person on the other end of the phone couldnt understand english very well and was reading from a script , terrible company , Stick to your local brokers , they are much better . GOSKIPPY ARE CHEAP FOR A REASON TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE”

“SHAME YOU CANT GIVE MINUS MARK .... PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. MY PARTNER TOOK OUT INSURANCE AS A LEARNER DRIVER WITH THEM. BACK IN AUGUST PAID IN FULL OVER £1000 DOCUMENTS ARRIVED . THEN A FEW DAYS LATER THEY INFORM HIM HE NEEDED TO PAY ANOTHER £400 DUE TO INFORMATION THEY RECEIVED WAS INCORRECT. SO WE CALLED THEM AND ASKED WHY THEY WERE SAYING THE INFORMATION WAS WRONG. WE HAD PROOF OF WHAT WAS PUT ON THE FORMS AS WE TOOK SCREEN SHOTS. WHICH WE SENT TO THEM VIA E MAIL. THEY SAID THEY WOULD LOOK INTO IT, AND LEAVE THE INSURANCE ACTIVE WHILE THEY INVESTIGATE AND THEY WOULD BE IN TOUCH. SOON WEEKS PAST AND WE CONTACTED THEM AGAIN IN FOUND OUT THAT THE CUSTOMER SERVICES FOR GO SKIPPY IS IN SOUTH AFRICA AND THEY HAVE NO CONTACT DETAILS OF THE COMPANY BASED IN THE UK. WELL THIS WEEK 8 WEEKS AFTER TAKING OUT THE POLICY THEY CALLED AND STILL SAID THAT THE INFORMATION THEY HAD RECEIVED WAS INCORRECT AND THAT THE COMPARISON WEBSITE CAUSED THE PROBLEM NOT THEM ,PASSING THE BUTT OF BLAME. THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT OUR PROOF OF SCREENSHOTS . SO WE CANCELLED THE INSURANCE AND DEMANDED THEY REFUND THE REMAINING MONTHS ON THE POLICY AND THAT WE DO NOT HAVE TO PAY THE CANCELLATION FEE AS IT HAS TAKEN THEM LONG ENOUGH TO GET BACK IN TOUCH WITH US ABOUT THEIR ERROR. NOT ONCE DID THEY APOLOGISE AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT BASED IN SOUTH AFRICA ARE A JOKE THEY PASS YOU FROM ONE MEMBER OF STAFF TO ANOTHER . TO AGAIN WORD OF WARNING .... AVOID AVOID AVOID”
“Called to get proof of my 8 years no claims and was told they can only do it if they reduced it down to zero and charged me over £200 because the policy would of changed!!
Have a look on their Facebook page and ask yourself why they don't allow visitor posts and why post with bad publicity are taken down.”

“I was involved in a car accident (not my fault) my car was a write off! 4 months down the line I was still paying £95 a month. So basically there excuse was “you didn’t cancel how were we to know?” Baring in mind I talked to Go Skippy about the accident in first place (expect an 1-2 hours wait for them to answer phone!!). Useless insurance company you get what you pay for.”
“Worst company ever. No assistance in making a claim. Transferred left, right and centre being told I don't have legal cover then customer services tell me I do. Legal have no idea who handles their personal injury and no one able to help me. Wasted hours and still never got anywhere. Never insure with this company or their underwriters again.”
“At first GoSkippy were great however after about 3-4 weeks i started receiving letters about difference in payments etc and i followed their instructions to the word. I'm 24 and was insured on a 2 litre tdi and the policy was around £800 annually. Within 10 weeks it had worked out i had paid in excess of £450 due to administration fee's, additional deposits etc and they then cancelled my policy due to them apparently asking me to contact them even though i received nothing. In short i have averaged £45 per week to be insured by this company for it to be cancelled! If anything goes wrong or you need this company problems will soon begin. I'd heavily advise avoiding.”

I am an owner of a very large business with fleets of vehicles. Being commercially aware I used a comparison site and Goskippy were the cheapest quote. This was for a private vehicle. Having never had a claim, we took the deal, it was the cheapest and I was happy. Within 23 days of the policy they sent a vague email saying there were errors with our no claims discount and they had slapped £50 admin fees and £62 of other charges immediately on to us! I had been with them just over 3 weeks. So I called them, spoke to a very rude lady (read all other reviews!) and to be honest got absolutely no where. No leaning, nothing! Computer says no - so in brief I have cancelled my policy. This looks like it has cost me circa £230 for 27 days insurance. Read reviews on trust pilot and the standard scripted response from Bronwen At GoSkippy - it is laughable. I now believe I am no longer commercially aware, and I have been the victim of a scam! I paid in full. They will refund me what they want. Please be very careful, and read other review sites. I hope this at least pushes some business away from them. Watchdog here we come.....”
“I had a lot of problems with go skippy as I had to cancel my car insurance as the car failed it's mot so had no car no help at all had to pay for cancellation fee which they never even mentioned when I took the policy out customer service wasn't good neither told me to email them they wasn't getting my emails in time had to phone them a few times but couldn't get through really poor customer service especially when you are trying to cancel the policy I advised my family and friends to not go with this company”
“SHOCKING SERVICE, this is a south African call centre, im 35 have never had a problem buy car insurance before, this has been the worst and most stressful buying experience of my life. The company has serious costs and little communication within. God knows what it would be like if i had to claim ......

“I was involved in a accident reported the claim and heard nothing back chased it up 20 days later, to be told I was advised to go to the other parties insurance company (which I hadn't) and the claim had been closed, no offer of courtesy car or vehicle recovery no vehicle inspection just washed their hands of it and left it with the other parties insurance without any confirmation to me email or otherwise and where still going to charge me monthly for a further 7 months, I am bassically paying just to not get pulled over, cheap price easy to set up, quick to take ££££ and quick to not help and leave you in the dark, basically not doing what a insurance company should do during a customers difficult time, then paid £50 admin fee to swap car over as it would not do it online, just hope no one pulls out in front of me until my 7 remaining months is over, I pay for you to sort things and the customer has a choice of who deals with the claim (not the case here) terrible practice and service avoid take the next price up from this company”
“The worst customer service i have ever come across if anyone is thinking to get insurance with these guys then dont bother. I had a car accident so i wanted to cancel my insurance as my car was off the road and they said that i had to pay £1500 ! What absolute madness! After speaking to the ‘customer service’ team they were not one bit helpful not one person wanted to even bother with helping my situation the worst company ever! On top of that i pay £300 every month! For what? The whole point of insurance is for these type of situations and they would’nt even offer me a courtesy car and expect me to keep paying monthly for a car that i dont want to keep running ! Even after complaining about this nearly 5 times they said they will get back to me by email or calling me which they have’nt bothered with once! I am so furious with this customer service as on their website they state ‘At GoSkippy, we strive to provide you with first class customer service and products’ ??????? Cant even got through to them due to delay in getting through to someone...... people beware of this before you use these people i cant even put into words how bad they are !”
