“Subject: Warning: Unethical Practices and Deceptive Treatment by Skippy Insurance
I am compelled to share my appalling experience with Skippy Insurance to alert fellow consumers about the unethical practices and deceptive treatment I have endured. My interaction with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare, marked by stress, frustration, and financial loss.
From the outset, Skippy Insurance demonstrated a lack of professionalism and consideration. Despite my prompt submission of all required documents through their online portal, a seemingly insignificant error on their part led to the abrupt cancellation of my policy without any prior notice. This occurred merely three days after notifying me of the alleged missing document, a situation that I find extreme and grossly unfair.
To make matters worse, my attempts to rectify the situation were met with indifference and a refusal to reinstate the policy. Despite canceling my coverage, Skippy Insurance audaciously deducted £104.88 from my account for the month of January, providing absolutely no service in return.
The manager, who identified themselves only as "a manager," promised over the phone that the January payment would be refunded. However, not only was this promise broken, but I am now confronted with an email asserting an additional £48.82 outstanding, coupled with a threat to involve debt collectors.
This experience has left me deeply disappointed and disillusioned with Skippy Insurance's lack of integrity, customer care, and respect for contractual agreements. I implore all potential customers to exercise extreme caution and reconsider choosing this company for any insurance needs.
In my opinion, the conduct of Skippy Insurance is not only unprofessional but borders on deceitful. I encourage everyone to share this warning, so others may be spared the distress and financial loss that I have endured due to their unscrupulous practices.”

“What an absolute bunch of clowns. Threatened to cancel my insurance when I made full payment and sent all documents. When asked about it their explanation was that the other department hadn’t confirmed receipt of my documents. I’ve never had to deal with such an incompetent company.”

“Avoid GoSkippy for car insurance at all costs: I cancelled the policy on my first car due to doing part exchange for a newer car. When speaking to their representative, I was told that I would be due a refund. I was surprised to get a letter a month later stating that I owe them £200 (and no refund in sight whatsoever). I paid half of it in November and the remainder at the start of January. So I was even more surprised to receive a letter today claiming that I still owe them £200. I called them and the representative had the gall to tell me that the letter had been sent prior to me making the payments. The letter was dated 11.01.24. This company has lied to my face every time I've spoke with them; avoid, avoid, avoid!”

“These guys are living amongst the dinosaurs. If you have a digital only bank account like basically everyone these days (Starling, Monzo, etc.) you can't pay monthly. You have to phone up and waste your time before finding out this information.”

“Awful company DO NOT use. Tried to charge over £800 altogether for one months car insurance. Had cancelled insurance before agreeing to a credit agreement as didn't need to insure my 17 yr old anymore. Yet they are proceeding to try and charge me excessive cancellation fees rather than just the standard £75 cancellation. Already paid £200, then £193 for the 2nd month when I wasnt even insured and then a further £325! All for one months driving. They use premium credit.

“Scammers! Avoid!
I took the policy out, paid the deposit, but sold my car within the first month of the premium, Go Skippy took the next months premium from my account ahead of the due date, I rang to cancel, expecting my cancellation fee to be roughly nominal as standard and my refund, instead I was smacked with not only them retaining my next months premium but also asking my for a further £175 cancellation fee!! £220 to cancel my policy after 1 month?! Hell no, I will complain until I get my money back! Run from these vultures.”

“Should be called GO SLIPPY! awful robbing company.
I was unable to amend my registration number from taking up a policy on their website so i rang them, got through to a call centre in India when i was told they would charge me to do that, i told them i didnt want to pay with it being a new policy, they i was refused to be connected to a manager so i cancelled then they would refund me the whole balance so i lost £150.

“Absolute terrible service !! I asked for help as my direct debit goes out on the 6th and I don't get paid till 13th was told they can put my account on hold till the 15th so I have time to pay it to find this morning £122 gone out my account I've phoned up for another lady to tel me they can't hold a payment only the account so it doesn't get closed and the lady I originally spoke to didn't provide me with the correct information well if the employees don't know the correct information shouldn't be working there you are providing information to people who are paying money to you for car insurance and with this cost of living crisis people are having to scrap along to make ends meet and don't need the extra charge on top ,insurance has already gone up £40 a month !! all I asked was for some help for my time to be wasted at the end of this year I will be leaving and finding another provider”

Really bad customer service and sub-par product.
They also pay for reviews - read the reviews carefully and you will find running themes and several people reviewing the product on sign-up, which doesn't happen.”
