“I purchased a motorbike insurance with Goskippy providing all relevant data for a price of over £500. A week after receiving insurance documentation, I received a request to provide pictures of my driving license. Goskippy subsequently claimed I had to pay a surcharge of over £100 (i.e. over 20% of total insurance cost) as my driving license was issued in 2020 (and not 2010 as I indicated). Their understanding was however wrong as 2020 was issuance of my latest license (since the previous one expired) but I first received an insurance in 2010. I provided my explanations to the company and never heard back until a few weeks ago when Goskippy notified me of cancellation of my insurance and reimbursement of £320, therefore charging me over £180 for effectively 3 weeks of insurance.
I have written numerous emails to Goskippy trying to rectify the situation and reinstate the insurance without them acknowleding my point. I have also called with no response. They should be fined for fraudulent behaviour and confiscated their license”

“Go Skippy, are robbers , paid for a year’s insurance, then after the cooling of period, had a check to charge me a extra £93 saying they had to amend the policy ( was with them last year so they had all the details) and the customer service was terrible, stay away if I was you.”

“Terrible company and I regret ever taking a policy with them. I sent the documents requested and after a week for an email saying they needed the driving license of the insured parties. So I sent them a photo of each. Days later I get an email saying they can't accept a photo and that I need to provide the licence numbers which I did. Days later I got another saying they needed licence check codes. I was starting to get irritated by now. So I sent them in as requested only to get another email back a couple of days later saying that they needed the driving licence numbers to be able to use the check codes. All of this information should have been provided in one email and it would have saved a lot of time and frustration. I sent a screenshot of my no claims as they requested proof. However they emailed to say they don't accept screenshots and I had until 5PM that day to provide a PDF or provide them with my old insurers details and old policy number so they could verify it themselves which I did. I was them told they weren't able to contact my previous insurer and I must get PDF. I called my old insurers again to be told GoSkippy has never een tried to contact them to verify my no claims. They couldn't send me a PDF as they don't send emails and I had to wait for it to be loaded onto my online portal. However they closed at 2PM so when it wasn't loaded in time I had to call GoSkippy yet again to explain. They said they'd extend the cancellation until Tuesday and would call me and then put me on a joint call with my old insurers to verbally confirm my no claims. They couldn't get through to me as my number was being posted to a new SIM card. However they emailed to say that they had contacted my old insurers and they had confirmed my no claims and they now had all the information they needed. Except very late this afternoon I get a text saying mist call then urgently as there was an outstanding query on my account. After being on hold I was told they just wanted to confirm my number!
This company is beyond a joke. Their customer service is rubbish and I have been so close to cancelling my policy and going with a more well known company.
They also have a foreign call centre and the calls are deafening as you can hear the other advisors talking loudly close by - including being able to hear other people's personal details! So they may be cheap but you pay for it with terrible service from some overcrowded sweat shop in India. You have been warned!”

“Worst ever car insurance, been driving over 25 years this happens to be the worst I have experienced. Finance is done by another company which complicates thing further. Never thought change a billing date could cause so many issues. Been over charged and I have asked for a list of my policy payments which has never been provided.
Avoid avoid avoid. I would be happy to pay more to a company that have more control over their finance.”

“Absolutely disgraceful company - I called to cancel a policy because the car failed its MOT and wasn't worth continuing with. I was over halfway through a 12 month policy costing £400 and they are now charging me over £115 to cancel. I understand that there are some costs that need to be covered when cancelling and am prepared to be reasonable, but when I challenged 2 of their Customer Service people on the phone, one of whom claimed to be a manager (although I doubt this), how they could possibly justify £115 in these circumstances all they did was hide behind their "policy", despite me appealing for some common sense and discretion.
Both were also extremely patronising and downright rude. Don't use these, it may seem cheap at face value but they hit you with the hidden costs later.”

I had cancelled my insurance and paid the extortionate cancellation fee, a week later I still owe money due to an employee error, so I’m getting chased for more money because someone can’t do their job properly. Customer service weren’t very helpful either, speaking far too fast and just saying figures, was like speaking to a robot.”

“Poor pricing, everyone else seems to offer free online amendments as you’re changing what ever is required you’re end then it saves on your file, there’s nothing for GoSkippy staff to do except read what you amended yet £35 admin fee still applies, if you ring in admittedly they charge for there staff to input details other than that what a joke! £35 basically for yourself completing the changes, absolute ROBBERY!”

“Beware if you change cars midway through policy !!! They apparently don’t insure import cars even though they are registered legally in the U.K. Despite being forced to cancel midway through policy they still charged me !!! Then if you don’t pay instantly they will hound you with threatening letters and don’t accept email as a form of communication!!! So glad I’ve now got a company that’s nice to me and respects there customers . Don’t touch go skippy they are cheap for a reason !!! When you talk to them on the phone they are condescending and rude !!!! I will never go back to them I would rather pay extra then deal with these again!!!!”

They charged me £15 to make an amendment to my documents and then a £50 admin fee (£50?!! I’ve worked in admin and it takes 2 mins!) .
The email they sent me about this I was apparently meant to sign something and reply, because I didn’t they then charged me another £25!!!

“Costumer service is horrible.
Call centre people sound very uninterested in doing they’re job, I’ve made an enquiry about changing my vehicle on the policy and after 4 days they still can’t provide me with a quote or an answer moreover every time I’ve called it was humiliating talking to people who don’t even listen to what you’re saying.”

“I changed my vehicle with goskippy the didnt send me a new certifacate ive sent them emails after emails no response phone calls after phone calls that they dont answer I need this certifacate to register my car with a privat e carpark company so I can use off road carpark at home so at moent im parked in another street which my car is not insured as i told them i park off road at home if i use the carpark without registering i get a parking fine.Ive had 0 comunication from them in 7 days since i sent the first email they havent even updated a new certificate on my porthole with them.”
