Peepers Banbury : Totally unacceptable customer service. Loyal family custom will be lost after many years of attendance at this practice. Service is not as it was when Peepers was in private family ownership. I am now considering a complaint to the GOC as I do not consider the service I have received to be appropriate, neither elements of the prescription detailed to be accurate for my requirements. A very sad end after trying several times to get some straight forward answers to simple questions with regards to a prescription change. Sales of highly profitable frames and lenses getting in the way of great service.

I requested a refund of my eye care plan money on 18th March and still have not received a refund. Another direct debit has been taken before I have had a chance to cancel it though. A refund should take 5-7 days not over a month! I actually went into the branch today to ask why I had not received it - the Practice Manager was summoned. I was told she has a meeting with the owners later in the week and it was on the list to discuss! The customer service is absolutely rubbish which is why I wish to go elsewhere - this is not how Niall O'Kane ran his business for many years and he would be sorely disappointed. No smile, no greeting, no apology, no reasonable explanation (staff certainly look and act like they don't wish to be there). What a shame that a once thriving business is now in such bad hands - wonder when I will get my long overdue refund!

Having received a thorough eye examination and asked to come back in 2 years with no deterioration I was shown a selection of glasses to choose a new pair costing £300 which I declined. I came out confused as to why this was.

I have to say that very disappointingly this was far from the best visit I have had to Ellis and Thompson. Always had 100% excellent service and attention over many years in the past ... but on collecting my newly lensed glasses, paid and going outside I saw that the lenses were covered in fingerprints. They had not been cleaned after putting them in my frames. I had intended to go back and tell Alan at a later date knowing he was not in that day, but it had slipped my mind until this opportunity came. I won't stop using E&T but this is not the standard Alan would want. So these points are for this visit only.

Unfortunately we have been very let down by the Eye Academy in Guildford. My husband ordered some varifocals which he could not get on with and we have been refused a refund costing us hundreds of pounds. We are now looking in to taking this further as he has no suitable glasses and have lost a lot of money. This is poor customer care and we will not be returning here in the future.

I have been a very loyal customer with you for over 10 years. I have recommended a lot of people and families to your shop. I do object that when l arrive for an appointment with Allan, he was with a couple from Egypt, they where WALk IN'S they did not have an appointment. I was left waiting, Allan did not have the manners to see me. Why was l left waiting when l had an appointment. ?? Why was l not phoned, you have my numbers. Rhona Kelly.

I had a thorough eye test and purchased expensive glasses but am still having problems with my vision. I called and made a follow-up appointment but when it came to the appointment time I was told no appointment was made. Have used Eye Academy Windsor for many years and feel very let down. Poor service.

I have been a regular customer with eyeAcademy for years. I spent over £600 on my pair of glasses which snapped by itself. Thankfully the glass didn’t damage my eye. I went back to the store and requested a technician to look at it who treated me like I was making stories up. After having spent significant money with eyeAcademy over the last 7 years and having the affordability to buy glasses, I did not expect this treatment. I took my lens to vision express and they did a great job. Also gave me details on the lenses that were fitted by eye Academy which made me realise I had over paid for an inferior quality lens. It’s simply a glamorous shop and don’t get fooled by the glamour of it. All that glitters is not gold! Never ever again with a store that does not value its commitment to its customers.

The person who was selling glasses was very attentive . However the worst experience I had when where collecting glasses- it was not adjusted properly and the assistant did not bother to inspect to see where exactly adjustment is needed and only relayed on my explanation. I cannot see properly and have a headache. I will return glasses on Saturday as I am working all week. Don’t want to pay over 1k and have issue with glasses.

Please can I cancel this appointment as I'm very disappointed that despite the fact I've said time and time again that I would like only to have an eye test for glasses and I'm still not being given this and instead im being pressured to have a more extensive test when it is absolutely not necessary. I have excellent control of my diabetes managed with a pump and CGM, my eye health is as good as it possibly could be after 25 years of type one diabetes and pregnancy and I have regular specialist eye screening appointments up at the hospital in Slough. I'm very very frustrated and cross that I have had to justify a simple decision I should be allowed to make for myself based on the fact I pay taxes and want to use the services I'm paying for with the NHS already rather than being pressured into an expensive test with The Eye Academy, again, it is not necessary. I have spent a lot of money with you over the years and have raised this frustration before. I'm now at the point where I will be taking my custome elsewhere permanently and will be writing a very honest review of the terrible, sales focused service I've had recently on Trustpilot. You have no responsibility for my diabetes eye checks and I resent the fact you try to package up an aggressive sales tactic in this way to try and take advantage of potentially vulnerable and worried customers. I'm an educated and healthy person and do not appreciate being pressured the way I have been. I also found the fact there is no clear complaints contact details the final straw and my only option is to complain publicly.

Really bad customer service. Wrong lenses 3times. Either the prescription was wrong or they were faulty. The staff in the Guildford store ask you when you'd like to come in and then tell you you can't when you say a day. I'm not bothered about seeing the same person especially when I had to go back so many times, so stop making out you want to be my friend. Just get the product correct. Still not really happy with the prescription or the glasses because the lenses are now wobbly after only a few weeks wear. Not good enough for the money you charge. Also asked for a copy of my prescription and was told it would be in the post within a few days and have once again had to chase it up. As the advert says I SHOULD HAVE GONE TO SPECSAVERS. won't be using you again or recommending you.
