“I paid extra to have the chicken run delivered in two days and came after three, after numerous calls the answer was : the courier didn’t find the address! And after few more calls , I had the goods delivered but with damaged boxes and a post missing, not even bothered to call back ........”

“Wouldn’t say this is fox repellent at all...our rabbit has managed to pop out the end panel of wire and escaped twice now so I’ve had to re-enforce it. On the plus side, it’s very easy to assemble and the instructions are clear. Reasonably sturdy but needs bolting or pinning to the ground. Good size for a rabbit run but not the safest.”

“Service by Eggshell was confused and inefficient. I was informed 3 times of a different delivery date. When the packages arrived some were damaged and various screws and bolts were missing, so we have had to purchase extra.”

“Very flimsy frame and locks and fastenings are very cheap, broken panel no reply on email from supplier. I don't imagine this will last very long. Not worth it's money!!!”

“One corner bracket not screwed to gable end section. Two pre-drilled holes for bolts missing. Tray runners not level so tray wouldn't slide at all so wood had to be shaved off. Filler end of roof ridge broken off possibly in transit so had to glue it back. Instructions not altogether clear and diagrams need to be bigger. I wouldn't like to put it to the fox-proof test as the removable panel for extra nest box in my opinion needs another catch to make it more secure. Luckily coop is housed within another covered pen therefore fox and weather proof. Construction not for novice.”

“Quick delivery, however product far from great. Predrilled holes didn’t line up, wood cracked and splintered, ladder broken, panels do not fit level well, not that easy to build, disappointed. Customer service was reasonable, was offered replacement parts or a partial refund of £20. Honestly? I feel ripped off and I would not recommend this product. But the company we’re good.”

“Purchased the Betty air a just under 2 years ago, purchased the extra nesting box last week and was disappointed to find that the size was completely different to the ones on the coop had to spend 2 hours making it fit and adding my own timber to make it waterproof.”

“Bought the Kingston chicken coop and I am not at all impressed. I assembled it correctly but there is just gaps around the door everything has been screwed In tightly but massive gaps and I don’t mean ventilation gaps like let the heat out gaps. Coop looks nice enough but not impressed with the front door then the little side door shutter”

“We paid extra to have the next day delivery promised prominently on the eggshell website. Order before 2:30 for next day delivery. Not only did the ordered coop not turn up the next day but I was told it was on its way and would be with me. To add insult to injury my email asking where the delivery was and requesting a refund of my next day delivery fee was ignored and I received no reply. The coop itself is OKish. I guess you gets what you pays for.”

“I bought a Betty a short while ago.Initial impression good, quite well made and good design. Eggshell claim on their website that the houses are foxproof - they are not! I went out one morning a couple of weeks ago to let the hens out and found all dead inside the house. The metal floor had been ripped off from one corner and the fox had gone into the house. The fixings for the metal floor are flimsy, small wooden beads fixed with short panel pins. The wide wooden struts supporting the metal sheet had simply been bitten off. The metal is very thin and my fox had no problem in puncturing it with its teeth and then tearing it off. I do realise that a determined fox will have a serious go at any structure but I do think that the floor arrangement of the Betty is a weak bit of design. So far all I've had from Eggshell is sympathy but no real advice or suggestions as to how to make a strong, fox proof floor. Be warned!”

“While the henhouse is attractive and functional now it has been put together with ad hoc changes to make things fit, it seems this particular product is a triumph of style over substance. My very experienced handyman and I had trouble all day with missing parts and screws, unfinished roof parts not cut correctly so they could not possibly fit together as a whole ( had to have the extra bit actually sawn off) and entrance ladder with struts glued to the wrong side and the somewhat confused and very small pictoral diagrams which were very difficult to read and decipher. The floor tray (runners missing) had to be screwed on as there was no other way to hold it in place. The entire building experience became a bit of a trial and quite irritating, when some small attention to detail at the production end could have prevented all the aggravation. Kind regards Mrs A. “Kingston 7Ft. Cheap and poor quality. Not sure if it would survive a storm or angry fox but wire seems strong. Definitely will need varnish protection too. This is for 5-7 hens, I'll be lucky to squeeze in 3 big hens. Roost bars are lower than nesting boxes and I will have to raise. Instructions not very clear also sliding door upper runner had come off and we had to find extra screws. Delivery was prompt although cannot be am or pm and not Saturday - has to be signed for.”

“I ordered my chicken house on the 28th of December and expected. 5 - 7 day delivery but it has still not arrived and apparently won't until the end of Jan. Not happy as I have hens that need a home. Further more, I received no comms from eggshell telling me about this - I only found out when chasing my order.”

“Great product, awful delivery, needs to change their courier company! After paying £15 for delivery and asking them to try to deliver to my 3 immediate neighbours, or leave behind my gate. Came home on the day it was delivered, no parcel at any of my neighbours, no delivery note. Rang eggshell the next day, been delivered across the road to a total stranger, and of course if I hadn't rang up because there was no delivery card, I would have had no idea where my parcel had been delivered.”
