“Since moving, my mum was getting a poor signal when using her phone. She wouldn’t hear of replacing it as it was my dad’s up until a year ago and it has sentimental value. The Vodaphone signal here is not good, so it seemed sensible to change the sim card to O2. Unlocking the phone was a bit of a worry, as the phone contains a lot of personal details so giving the phone to a stranger for a few days to unlock the phone is a scary thought, so I looked around for an alternative.
Trustpilot gave good reviews for DirectLocks and the thought of being able to keep the phone and its contents safe was a good one. My online enquiry gave me a price of £23.99 which seemed reasonable, so I went for it. Filling in the necessary details was easy and straightforward and once the payment was made everything was very quick, or so I thought!
What I hadn’t bargained for was, and the purchase doesn’t state until finished is that its just for a check to see if its possible. It was, but DirectUnlocks then wanted a further £26.00 to actually unlock it. A cost of £50.00 is a bit steep for unlocking a 2017 Galaxy A3, but given the reviews and the need for security, I went ahead.
I have to say, that “Scam” was in the back of my mind for the 15 minutes it took to unlock the phone, but everything worked well; It was quick to do (they estimated 2 days, but it was done within 15 minutes I received an email with the code and easy instructions on what to do next). The instructions were superb.
So, would I have gone ahead and done it had I known the true cost beforehand, I doubt it, but I am glad I did, and via DirectUnlocks.”
