“I had wanted a knife that wasn’t overly common……a 210mm deba by Masamoto. Essentially, a Christmas gift, and I knew it might be a long lead time in order to get a hold of one (I had seen them in Kyoto, but didn’t know then it was the knife that I needed to get).
Anyhoo, the guts at Cutting Edge Knives did the needful, and acquired me one inside a few weeks.
I doubt very much that you will ever find one in any U.K. hardware store!
Expensive of course, but very high quality. No doubt there are better in the four figure range, but I am quite sure the Masamoto will be able to cut his Findus Crispy Pancakes with no difficulty.
