“Firstly, the ordering.
I have to say, I probably would have given 5 stars if the ordering process had been a little simpler. Unfortunately for me, I can be indecisive at times and so I found myself choosing a subscription package, changing my mind then choosing again. On the positive side though, once used to the ordering process, you are in total control of your subscriptions and frequency, month by month.
Packaging
I thought it looked fab, great graphics and sturdy box. Nice quality feel and each item individually boxed within the outer. I purchased the initial handle and blade set, along with a tube of shave cream and post shave balm.
The handle
Nice weight and feel to the chrome plated handle, with knurling just in the right place helping prevent it slipping as you shave. Another great touch, is the free 3 letter engraving to individualise your handle.
Blades
Arguably the most important part of the order and absolutely fantastic they are too. I did try a well known rival set, (with orange handle), but was left slightly disappointed by their slightly dull edge, hence the reason for trying yours.
At first, I found getting the blade head onto to the handle a little finicky, but once on it remained on and had a good angle of swivel. This made for good gliding around the contours of the chin. Each head has 5 blades and a lubricant strip and If I said that these blade heads have the edge, I really mean that in all senses of the word. They are so sharp, even after 2 weeks of daily use with the same head, it was only just beginning to dull. Once ready to change it was easy with a push of the release button and now with a little practice, I have mastered the skill of the blade head change.
Shaving Cream
The cream is in a plastic tube similar to most other dispensers of this type. The hole from which the cream dispenses is very narrow and some force is required to squirt it, but I found that only 1 inch is required to give a good lather using a fine hog hair brush. The lather itself was rich, creamy and smooth with a pleasant scent.
Post Shave Balm
The balm is lush, I particularly like the mint and honey ingredients as it gives a fabulously fresh feeling to the face. I like it so much, it has become my daily facial moisturiser and I may have to increase the frequency of subscription for that product.
All in all so far, I like the products I've purchased. Cornerstone are competitively priced and I would highly reccomend them to anyone.”
