Ordered handle bars for a triumph tr6, took a week to arrive, upon arrival the packaging was virtually nonexistent, I was expecting the worst being bent out of shape, they were scratched a bit but thankfully it was underneath where it’s not noticeable. This isn’t against classic bike parts, more against the courier which nobody has control over.

Sent my Amal monobloc carburettor to be cleaned and all parts replaced ....quite happy had a few issues. No 1 courier damaged tick over screw .got in touch with Peter and he rectified straight away by sending a replacement screw . No2 . Carburettor flooded after a few minutes of running . Removed outer side cover to find gasket been trapped and a slither stuck out . Lucky I had a replacement side cover gasket removed and fitted new cover gasket . Bike starts better than before ticks over well and also pulls well to So thanks Peter and Kieran I'm pleased with your service and with your parts too . Many thanks keep us bikers on the road Mark Edwards

Hi, most of the parts supplied for my D 14 bantam reference to electrics. Everything was okay, but the condenser would not fit in.

Prompt dispatch of required footpeg rubbers which were as described. Only niggle being that that UK VAT was charged and I had to pay French VAT again on arrival.

The quality of the pipes was exceptional. My only gripe is that they were supposed to be swb (760mm long) and they are the lwb (800mm long)

I have, in recent years had two previous purchases of unsatisfactory pattern speedos from other suppliers, so I was wary of whether this one might be yet another disappointment. I've not long fitted it, so It's still early days, but so far it seems to be a good one. The odometer tallies with distances over known routes ( unlike my first purchase which turned a 25 -mile commute into 28 miles) and the indicated speed matches what I expect for a given engine speed. Because it uses the same cables as the original chronometric instruments, the operation is steady. The other pattern instruments used the much thinner cables off the Enfield India bikes. If your speedo is mounted in the headlamp, it needs 3 changes of direction and the thin cables tend to whip, even when well -oiled and cause the needle to give false highs and to flutter. If you mount the instrument in a headlamp shell it is not a straightforward replacement for the chronometric clock as the cable will foul the back of the lamp due to the pattern instrument being deeper and the cable further forward, so the shell needs to be bent up at the back and down at the front to get the cable past the lamp. I didn't mind this as I'm not hung up about these modifications and had already done the necessary when I fitted the "Enfield " pattern speedo, but I would suggest that you really ought to flag up this problem, as the "tyres not the right shade of black for that year" brigade would have a hissy fit. Other than that I've no issues. A trip recorder would have been a bonus, but so far so good. I'm happy to have an instrument that gives a steady, believable reading and a properly calibrated odometer.

I purchased a vintage-type brass fuel tap and the necessary sealing washers. They arrived quickly and were well packed, and the tap is of good quality and has proved entirely satisfactory. I'll happily use Classic Bike Parts again.
