“I was very surprised when I noticed my new lamp was delivered with a foreign plug attached. I live in England, the lamp was supplied from an English company in England, yet it had this small 2 pin plug.
No mention of this or the fact that I would need to buy an EU to UK adapter. There was a note to say buy a bulb so I added a bulb, just wish it stated : - "This Lamp will need an EU to UK Adapter".
I did notice that lamp was from Portugal but never gave the plug a thought.”
“The lights arrived safely and promptly. However I have a major complaint about your castlegstights.fr website. It appears very French / EU with EUR pricing etc. You need to make it much plainer to French customers that there is a liability to customs duties. I realise it is in the small print of your T&C’s and that the mayhem caused by Brexit is not if you’re doing. But by placing a note about these possible charges on the page where the cost of the item is shown possible customers in France would definitely be appear of their liability to custom charges. It is not apparent that the website is actually U.K. based not French based.”
“well packaged, arrived on time. Elstead lighting Alton product did have some damage to the wall mounting bracket, bent at one edge, the finish between the light arm and round wall mount could have been neater and there was a nick of damage in side of round wall mount. Instructions could have been clearer regarding fitting and adjusting to wall and there were excessive left over parts. However they look goo don wall and do as intended.”

“I bought the Piazza 3 Light Ceiling Pendant. There was a problem with one of the bulb holders. It didnot work. My husband had to tease out the contact points to get it to work. He was successful, but I feel for the price of the fitting, you shouldn?t have to do that. However, I am very pleased with the look of the product. It looks amazing. I do think that you should be provided with the 3 bulbs required for the product.”
“A massive selection of lights at good prices. The lights I ordered were said to be in stock but only 1 out of 2 types I ordered actually were. I was given a 2 week delivery time for the others. I heard nothing and chased them after 3 weeks and was told it would be a further 1 week. This part of the order was for 2 lights but only one arrived when promised and on further chasing I found that the other had been held back because it was damaged......great, but why not email me to tell me what was happening. A few emails to update me would have made all the difference.”

“Lots to choose from. First order came in 4 days standard delivery. Had to exchange as wrong colour paid ?10 for fast delivery on top of cost Apparently phoned with delivery date to wrong number? Arrived 6 working days later. Nice shades but not too happy with the excessive delivery charge and time they took.”
“I was very disappointed to find that my Tiffany style lamp had been made in China and as has been my experience on many occasions, with a variety of goods, I do not find it to be of good quality and not warranting the price I had paid. Had I known this at the outset, I would not have bought the item at all.”
“Ordered a stylish chrome desk lamp - was sent out quickly and pleased with what I ordered - what I didn't expect was a wrestle and fight to get the thing out of the stupid packaging or the blizzard of polystyrene which broke up into a million pieces - which I am still clearing up now! Why do manufacturers still use this non-recyclable, polluting material for packaging! It should be banned! Made for a horrible experience!”
“Positive in that the item was well described, no add ons or tricks, and delivery well explained and communicated including 1 hour slot later given when delivery would arrive (this was on the free delivery option). Negative in that packaging wasn't great, probably why one of the four halogen lamps which were included was broken. Admittedly I didn't contact the seller for a replacement because for an 80 pound lamp I didn't think it was worth the hassle, but I do think they need to be a little more careful with packaging to avoid bigger headaches in the future.”
“the website was down for days so couldn't order online however ordering through the phone was a delightful and easy experience. the lady was extremely helpful and my order arrived on time too. what could go wrong? order arrived, bulbs missing, parts missing...don't like to play the blame game as I appreciate mistakes can happen. just wish there was a quality process in place ensuring my order had everything included from the outset.”
“Castlegate Lights provided a good service, delivering the lamps well packaged and on time. I am not particularly pleased with the lights themselves. The one I have assembled will not stand exactly vertically. I am not bothering with the second and will get rid of both of them, hopefully via the local newspaper.”
“Delivery and contact first class. The fitting itself was excellent, pity that with the bulbs supplied one was faulty and gave off a dull yellow glow. Quality control please note.”
