“My son has just returned from a fantastic 4 week adventure in Borneo. Thank you for all the fundraising tools advice and information as well as the Twitter photos whilst they were away. I would thoroughly recommend travelling with Camps International.”

“My daughter had an amazing time in Peru in July. The fundraising advice and gateway website were really helpful at keeping us informed and it was great to see photos via Twitter whilst she was away. She felt the rep on the expedition was great. He was knowledgeable and supportive and the camps were well run. The projects were varied and treks and trips out really helped her explore the country. Thank you for offering these opportunities, they are life changing for young people.”

“I went on the explore expedition to Tanzania. This was honestly the most amazing experience of my life and I felt so so happy whilst I was away - I didn't want to come home! For somebody that had to fundraise every penny of the trip and kit, I can say that I feel that all the hard work my family and I put in was worth it!! The staff at every camp were so friendly and happy which lifted the mood of my team. Also, my team leader was awesome and definitely helped to make the trip such an amazing, unforgettable experience. The projects we worked on were an enjoyable challenge and we could see our hard work turn into progress. I also loved the cultural activities we got to try such as making chapattis, banana curry and mandazis. We got to meet lots of local children and even play a football match with them which was lots of fun. This has been a life changing experience for me and I've made some epic new friends along the way too. Top tip - take a diary with you and keep a travel journal. This is one of the best things I took with me and I can now read and replay little memories in my mind :)”

“My experiences in Cambodia were amazing, creating life-long memories and friends. Our leader, David, was a wealth of information and great fun, it was an honour to spend a month in his company. The trip was very expensive, which caused my parents some consternation, however, I can see where the costs were incurred and I felt it was value for money. I'm delighted that I have made a difference to people's lives. I would recommend this experience to anyone considering it.”

“Camps help me by teaching me life skills that I thought I would never learn on my own in England. They taught us how to be organised and working to a schedule. These are all keys skills that my whole group are greatfull for learning. I highly recommend camps international for any young adult who is looking for a trip of a life time at such a young age.”

“My month in Cambodia was amongst the best in my life and the people I met made it even better. All of the Camps staff were unbelievably friendly and helpful and our work was very rewarding - it was clear to see the difference that we were making. The only downside really was the hidden costs of the vaccines and kit (and I didn't buy many things or expensive ones - Primark and mountain warehouse sales sold me most of my purchases), instead of £3990 it was more like £5000 which we weren't made aware of at the start. Other than that the trip was unbelievably well organised and our leader Alice was one in a million and made the trip 1000 times better. I would definitely recommend Camps to anybody looking to do a similar trip.”

“Camps is amazing! I travelled to Costa Rica and I enjoyed every second of it, I loved all the project work and the staff in each camp were phenomenal. All staff, in country and back in the UK were brilliant and took incredible care of me when having to visit the hospital numerous times, I couldn't have asked for better treatment. I overcame a lot over the month I was away but I couldn't have done it without the support of my leader and staff at the camps. Thank you for such an awe-inspiring trip of a lifetime!”

“Traveled to Kenya with Camps International 15th July-12th August 2019 as a 16 year old. All the camps were lovely, homely and clean with incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. The entire trip was an amazing experience well worth the money. I cannot explain how many fantastic things we were able to do within a month- including a trek to the summit of Mount Kasigau! Food was delicious and accommodated well for special dietary requirements. Would also like to commend the efforts of Camps to make sure that students who were feeling ill were immediately looked after. Would love to go again. 5 stars.”

“My trip with camps was absolutely amazing! The camps themselves were so cool, food was great-it was nice to eat food from the Kenyan culture. And everyone in the camps were so friendly and helpful. Thank you :)”

“Organisation prior to expedition was very poor. And I am not happy with Camps International’s safeguarding policies especially on toilet/showering facilities at some of the camps in Kenya. Our school will not be using them again in the near future. The saving grace was some of the in Kenya staff. Most were very polite and friendly especially loved the Athi River staff. Our school enjoyed this camp the best.”

“My trip to Borneo was incredible. I had some amazing experiences and met some amazing people. It helped with confidence and has inspired me to travel the world. Jon was a massive help to me and all his other ducklings and I just want to thank him for everything he's done for us. I've learnt to appreciate more in my life and it has made me become a better person. I definitely want to travel with camps in the future, whether it's back to Borneo or another place.”

“Having come back from the arduous expedition but a fortnight ago, I have been confronted with time and space to ponder my thoughts of my experience. My initial interest in Camps International was grasped when it came to my attention that my university application might be thoroughly stimulated by the addition of such a feat. This particular adventure was to Borneo in South East Asia. Up until the expedition itself, this was how the whole ordeal had been cemented and concreted into my mind. However, once we had completed our preliminary hill of our first camp, Narawang, of the much larger peaks of the whole expedition, my thoughts of the breathtaking journey I was partaking on changed enormously. I felt as but a protagonist with a completed story arc of a piece of classical literature by the time the expedition had finished. The memories I have created shall remain as monuments and landmarks in the city of my mind and shall always be remembered with but the grandest of fondness, appreciation, and care. Along the journey, I met many a person. These included the local people who we met along the way which provided me with a much needed hefty bullet of perspective on how fortunate we in the first world are. Needless to say, this shocking genesis has made me a more open and accepting person of other’s cultures and positions relative to my own. Another person who really made the expedition the best it could possibly be was our truly inspiring expedition leader Jon. When faced with toil and despair, Jon was always a kind and caring face who could lift the Devil from the deepest chambers of Pandemonium with his breathtaking encouragement and truly wonderful sense of humour. His kindness was unparalleled even when I could be being a tad .... challenging. My appreciation for all the hard work and trouble Jonathon went through for the sake of making the expedition as life changing as it was, is as but the universe to an atom. Thank you Jon. I felt as though the work we did for the local communities and environment has truly made a significant and everlasting difference. We were not but adding a match to the wildfire, but we were the blaze. The month has provided me with new friends who have truly made me into a more confident, kind, and loving individual. My experience has been the most powerful and life altering thing I have ever undertaken and I deeply and passionately feel as though it has helped he lives of so many people. Not just the locals who benefit from the extraordinary project work completed by the camps teams, but the eye opening and impactful effect on the volunteers who partake in a Camps expedition. Thank you Camps International, for the best month of my life.”
