“Great initial support but let down by poor delivery communication. Our delivery didn’t turn up on the day promised, I had to call to get an update and the delivery slipped by 2 days. Warning, don’t book builders based on promises.”

Hi please could you provide information on your order so i can investigate this for you. Some additional information which may help is that we do advise that trade people should not be booked until materials have arrived as sometimes things may go wrong. We do stipulate approximate delivery times scales and always call the day before we expect to make your delivery. On our distance runs the lorry leaves the yard on a Monday and returns on a Friday so giving and exact delivery day a week or so in advance is not possible as the delivery routes are all optimised and the drivers only have 9 hours driving time per day.

“Facia and soffit was fine but I wanted to get roof rubber kit when I phoned to get extra fittings I was told they couldn't do that so I bought it some where else”

“Ordering was an easy online process but delivery was slow , I know we were in trying times but it wasn’t until I called that my delivery seemed to then happen , excuses about off sick drivers and no timescale given as to when my delivery was coming I wouldn’t of minded if it was free delivery but I paid for delivery, once delivery was underway calls from the driver etc was excellent”

“Greenhouse Pack , Disappointed that some of the sheets were 23.5 inches wide. My greenhouse requires 24.0 inches wide to fit the panels also the side panels are 6.00ft tall. At over £65.00 a pack this is not acceptable. Also ended up having to buy 2 packs to complete my 6 x 4 greenhouse when it states that the pack is for a greenhouse replacement for glass, in my case we are not allowed to use glass on the allotments. My greenhouse, secondhand hardly used by elderly lady cost £50.00. with your replacement polycarbonate the cost is estimated at £200.00 might as well have bought a new fully installed greenhouse. My wife doe's not know yet!!!!”

Hi Thank you for your review I have taken this opportunity to check the products in stock and can not find any of the panels coming up at 596mm they are all measure around 607 to 613mm. Also the item you purchased is sold in a pack of 10 and stated in the product name. "Greenhouse Glazing 4mm Polycarbonate 1220mm x 610mm (4' x 2') pk10 CLEAR" and this I repeated in the long description. I do not understand where you got the impression that this one pack was enough to glaze a complete green house. We always recommend a customer contacts us if they have a problem prior to posting a review as this gives us a chance to look into and try to resolve and problems you nay be having.

“I bought shiplap 2500mm x 150mm which was fine except it isn't as shown on the web picture. The sheets have holes all along the top edge so I went to B&Q and bought some trim to cover these holes on the top sheet. The reason I didn't go to C&A Plastics is because it was such a faff going through your web site then having to wait for a phone call (the next day) and get a booking time. On arrival a sign said use horn which I did but nobody came. My wife and I sat like a couple of lemons not knowing what to do. Eventually someone came out (after about 15 minutes) and asked if we were the 12 o clock booking which we were. After this in all honesty the guys were very helpful and all went smoothly but overall not a good experience.”

Hi Thank you for you feedback however the holes all along the top edge are there for fixing the boards with the fortex screws. This is exactly how it is designed and these are covered either by the next board being fitted so all fixing are hidden or by the use of a finishing trim which will also cover these holes. With regards to your comments about it being a faff I think this is just a level of impatience and sorry that you where kept waiting as we where probably busy when you arrived. There are several ways to order, one is online for collection, the other is to email us and someone will call you, you can also ring and someone could take an order over the phone or the other option is to turn up however if all the sales team are busy then you will have to wait as the trade counter only allows one person at a time to be severed to ensure social distancing and keeping our customers safe. We are unlike B&Q and other stores in that we run a national operation delivering all over the country so we are catering for 1000's of customers every month and have done through the whole of the lock down process and not simply a trade counter operation. I am sorry you feel our systems are a Faff however customer and staff safety are a priority for us which having visit B&Q once decided they don't take the same stance. We have been accessed by a third party to ensure we operate best practices and comply with health and safety and the knock effect is things are done differently these days and it does require people to be a little more organised however the vast majority of our customer like the collection process as it saves them time and their order is ready at a time which best suits them. “Good quick service...although goods a bit pricey (when totted up) for essentially moulded bits of plastic (Onduvilla vented eav fillers). Also delivery was pricey for very light relitively small box.”

Hi Thank you for spending time to write a review. The £9.99 would not have even covered the cost from the carrier and this small £16 order for these trims we would have made a loss on in fulfilling. Your thought it was pricey but ordered it (assume you could not buy anywhere else as cheap) We lost money on the order, so this is a lose lose for everyone then. We hope your project went well during lock down and you have kept safe and well C & A Building Plastics

“C & A seem to have the monopoly with their products & no competitors that I am aware of. Their service which must have been awkward during lockdown was good but I do have a few issues,I knew what I was doing when I placed my order but upon getting my order home I noticed it had been changed & I therefore had paid for some items I didn't need. Some of their products need re designing too,in particular the wall plate for their roofing systems....the one I purchased was overpriced & AWFUL to fot & leaves the roof very draughty. Also their bullnose windowboard is bad quality,I had to throw mine away & go buy another from B & Q as the C & A one was unuseable due to it not being flat (was curved across it's width).Other than that most of their products are pretty good but not cheap (in price). Overall the service was fine but some of the products need improvement.”

You may think we have a monopoly, but actually we do not, its just others have found it hard to compete as we are low cost (despite you thinking we are not cheap) and provide the great service you described. “Took a while for the delivery to arrive which affected the project timescales as a result. The Freeflow guttering products seem quite good, however I ordered 30 fascia brackets but only received 28. As its not a lot of money i emailed customer services to suggest they include the missing items with another order i was planning on placing later in the week and still not had a response. Needless to say i won't be placing that order as they don't seem to take missing order items seriously.”

“Ordered Glen glazing bars, end sheet closure trims, F trims and all accessories for installation of 10mm twin wall polycarbonate sheeting. Order was received quicker than expected and well packaged. All items good quality, undamaged with good communication from C & A and at a very competitive price. So why not 5 stars? A packet of fixing buttons was missing from order, which delayed installation.”

“Ordered 4.25m x 3.5m sanctuary canopy which is pretty good for the price. I had mine powder coated a blue/grey colour so had to wait 5/6 weeks. When it arrived after 5 weeks great! but the wrong sheets (980mm wide instead of 1045mm) had been sent. First I was told that is what I ordered even though I had ordered a kit. Then it was suggested I cut the wall plate and gutter beam down. Eventually I had to re-order and pay for the correct sheets. I couldn’t just pay the £16.75 extra for the correct width sheets. Then I had to wait for the other sheets to be returned and inspected for “damage” before I could get a refund. We are really pleased with the canopy but not with how C&A operate. Having said that Gary, the driver who delivered the canopy originally is a really polite helpful man and a credit to C&A.”

Thank you for the review and the positives that are in it about the canopy. Looking at the notes on the system, it appears you had problem with the rivet gun and a member of staff explained that there are different head attachments included on the gun. It also notes that you have found your own way round the issue prior to this explanation and so we though all your concerns were resolved. “Via email great response time to my questions. No estimate on delivery when I first ordered. Delivery was slower than I thought (waited 10 days) and got a text message from the delivery driver the evening before it was coming, so not a lot of time to make sure someone could be home to take delivery. When It arrived all seemed well until construction. Hand riveter broke after the 3rd go, so had to go out and buy one for £23. I chose to pay extra for the clear sheets for the roof, when putting together the sheets were all different sizes and about 1 & 1/2 inches too long. So then had to cut all to size. My interpretation of getting this kit is that it can be put together with little hassle and modifications. This was not the case.”
