“Product was spot on - once it arrived. Multiple emails received, confirming payment and dispatch. Expected in 2-3 days - marvelous. 4 days - nothing so emailed Builders Marketplace for an update. No response. Still not heard from them directly which is odd as they are now wanting a review. PayPal dispute opened and product arrived with no further delay.”

“I was overcharged. I was then told that even though one price was being advertised on your website, I had to pay more which is against the law. I was then charged VAT twice before the wrong product was delivered to me.”

“I wasn't sure about my order as i had requested a custom cut for some MDF backboard. The website is unclear about how it shows the custom cut. So i called up and spoke to a very helpful woman who explained that my order was good and the custom cut would be fine. So, i paid up (including the exorbitant delivery charge) and got confirmation of my order, followed by a confirmation that it was being processed and that i should expect delivery in the next 2-5 days. On the sixth day, i received an email explaining that my order could not be processed as the company do not deal with the size i had requested. I was already on a tight schedule and this was the last straw. Shoddy and innacurate service - best left well alone.”

“I ordered 10 lengths of 47mm x 47mm treated timber - 8 of the10 lengths were so badly warped I couldn't use them - they were photographed & BM sent replacements out immediately FOC - they would have received a 5* review if they'd sent out decent timber in the first place”

“After ordering a 4x4 decorative panel I was given a delivery timescale of 2-5 days, which I accepted and paid for. After waiting 8 days with no correspondence I called to enquire where my order was? The person I spoke to was pleasant but did not offer any form of compensation until I insisted on it. The delivery charge was waived as I would have expected because the item was not sent as promised. My reason for a low rating was because it seemed that I was forgotten about, and the company were reluctant to try and make amends.”

“A company that deals with delivering bulky building supplies can’t give you a more accurate delivery estimate than “2-5 days”. This day and age there is literally no excuse.”

“Order was late to arrive which delayed the start of my planned job. A lot of the timbers are twisted and bowed and not good quality. I have used the timber out of necessity to get the job done but I would not use this company again.”

“The plywood they supplied was not even up to seconds quality, both faces had buckled surfaces which were impossible to sand out as they were larger than the thickness of the top layer after persistent complaint they finally offered a poor discount, buy at your peril”

“Was going to be notified when dispatched no notification given white van man turned up out of the blue luckily I was in. I would also not recommend this product it's very brittle and was badly twisted bit like cheap shuttering ply”

“I have no problem with the product. However, I requested 5 cut mdf panels along with some full size panels. The cut panels arrived cut incorrectly sized so thinking I had put the measurements down wrong (width/length) I accepted probably my fault and reordered the 5 cut panels with the measurements the other way around (length/width). I received 9 cut panels, all the wrong size and with the grooves running in the wrong direction. I contacted Builders Marketplace and was told to email the Company with my complaint and attach a picture of each panel that I had received. Having done this I received a reply stating I had ordered the wrong type of MDF. So, I emailed back with a drawing of exactly what I required and after 3 phone calls eventually spoke to someone who took my order. It did take quite a bit of explaining though. My third order finally arrived and is correct. So, I had not ordered the wrong type of MDF. Why had I been sent 9 cut pieces of MDF when I only ordered 5 cut pieces? Why weren't questions asked? I am now over £100 out of pocket having received 2 incorrect orders. I am also left with 18 cut pieces of MDF which Builders Marketplace will not take back. The product is ok, I'm afraid the Company isn't. Update - 18 Feb. Following this review I received an email from Kerry, the Office Manager at Builders Marketplace who looked into my complaint and offered a £60 refund, which I have accepted. Kerry was very helpful and quick to reply to emails. This is obviously a company that takes reviews seriously and I cannot fault the after action. I am therefore rating Builders Marketplace as 4 stars as opposed to my original 2 stars.”

“Ordered composite gate turned up on time but no frame,they were very good sending out post.for gate but has increased size by 160mm which is not the size I ordered,not collected as promised and waiting for refund ,absolute JOKE👎🏻”

“Ordered on the 18th November, finally delivered on the 1st December having chased up 4 times, unfortunately the wrong product delivered, so still waiting having paid for delivery in 3 to 5 working days,”
