“I have been doing Bobs books now for 5-6 years. In this time I have done around 20 books, I love it! I cannot pretend that they are not time consuming to do well as they are but soooooooo worth the end result. I used to print out all my photos and put them in albums, so when you take the cost of processing into account following a big trip, they are very cost effective too.”

“It took me a little while to get used to but pleased with the resultant book. My real frustration was that the system stopped and had to reconnect frequently, every time I used it. Sometimes it would happen every 5 to 10 minutes. I do not know whether this was my system or yours. Certainly I have not experienced such problems before.”

“Good quality printing and a nice feel to the finished article. The book creater lets you make anything you like and gives good tips and guidelines to make sure you acheive what you set out to do. More expensive than a lot of other photobooks out there but with good reason, they are a heck of a lot better. Really well wrapped for transit as well, arrived sooner than expected. Very pleased, would certainly buy again.”

“I selected the fold flat book with a gloss finish as I love the fact that you can lay a photograph (especially good for panoramas) across two pages without having staples or a spine in the way. Admittedly these books cost slightly more but are well worth it. And my other tip would be go for as big a book as you can afford. We have two A3 books and they are fabulous coffee table books and one A4 book which doesn't get opened nearly as often as the larger books. I only have one slight niggle or negative and that is when designing the pages there is the option to have preset photo spreads or design your own, I prefer to design my own so am left with a grid pattern. However the photos don't snap to the grid so they have to be lined up by eye, not a problem but it would be a lot easier if there were a toggle option to snap to grid. Overall they are fabulous books that remind us of our special moments on holidays and will do so for many years to come.”

Hi Catherine, Thank you for your review. I am not sure if you are aware, but in the desktop software you can save your own layouts and reuse them throughout your book. If you are using the same layouts regularly, you might find this helpful. Also, you can adjust the gridline spacing in the software settings, and if you turn on the magnetic alignment tool (icon looks like a magnet), it should line up the edges to the grid when you move your images. “My first photo book was more successful than my second - the latter had some too dark pictures in it and the soft cover is too flimsy. The service is prompt and good but go for a hardback book .”

“The whole process from end to end is very good. The quality of the printed books is excellent and the software to create/design your photo book is very easy to use. I have now used Bob Books on a number of occasions and will continue to do so. Highly recommended.”

“Wonderful quality book and delivered very quickly. The only issue I had was not being able to resize images easily but otherwise the process was quite straightforward with lots of quirky backdrops and enhancements to make a really unique photo book.”

“We had previously had a calendar done by Bobs Books that we were very happy with. This time we wanted to do a photo album and found it very easy to do. “Fairly easy to use app. Would like more choice of colours for covers and also the option to add only one page at a time instead of four. The quality of the paper is lovely whether matt or gloss and I have been very pleased with all the books I’ve made so far. I needed to access some help at one point and it was polite, prompt and worked.”

“I have just written a letter to Bob Books too with some feedback. I have used them a number of times and have been very pleased but the latest order was very very poor quality indeed. Photos were so dark which they were not on the screen or when printed at the photo shop. Some were also taken on a digital SLR so not poor quality photos. I had planned on using Bob books every year but never again based on the last book we received which was a real shocker. I can’t even gift them they are so bad.”
