“Really happy with the order and quick delivery, but was surprised and disappointed to see the Bob Books logo on the book which could potentially harm my business if my clients know where it is from and and can come on the website and look at the prices and order it themselves if they wanted to. I have a pro account with Bob Books so even more surprised that the logo was put on there.”

The way to get a logo-free book is either by ordering your book through the Bob Designer PRO software or our Logo-free PDF to book upload page. Please note that you can order any books you've made with the standard software in the pro software, and you can log in with the same email address and password. “The end product, a book of photos of our wedding is excellent, but the process to get to the product is poor. Which is a shame.”

“I am very pleased/impressed by the excellent quality of reproduction of my photographs in my "Nikon Sketches". However, I was disappointed that despite my care in setting the photos to completely fill a page, a number of them (eg Ready for a Shower, Old town in Tallinn, Just Sleeping) failed to be centred and have an additional beige border on the bottom and right side, What did I do wrongly? Also, it seems that the only way for my book to be available for internet purchase is via Bob Books with its large markup: This means that in reality it would be far too expensive for anybody except an indulgent family member/friend to purchase”

Thank you so much for taking the time to send us your feedback. It sounds like you may not have used our ‘Se image as a background button’ when placing your image full bleed on a page. The setting your image right to the edges of a page, you need to make sure they go up to the ’bleed line’ which is usually between 10mm and 15mm from the trim line. This ensures that when the page get cut, you do not get fine white lines around the edge of the page. Our software is set up to detect when you are putting an image close to the trim line and pull it to the bleed line, perhaps this was switched off? We have a button that will place your selected image full bleed on the page. You can find out how to set images full bleed on the page in our help video: https://www.bobbooks.co.uk/help-and-info/how-to/video/how-do-i-create-a-full-bleed-image-in-bob-designer In regards to selling through the Bookshop – you are able to sell you book at the retail price, or add and Author Mark up price of however much or little you want. It is entirely up to you to set the price. So if you book format is £20, you can add a mark up of 1 pence or £5 or as much as you wish, and this is the price that people will see in the bookshop. “I thought the finished book looked good quality and was impressed with how quickly it was produced and delivered. However, as a graphic designer I found the Bob Designer software very frustrating and restrictive to use. I also found the online viewer to be very low quality - I could see the pages but couldn't read the text at all as it was so low res.”

We do have a help video to help customers get started as we understand it can take a while to get the hang of new software. https://www.bobbooks.co.uk/help-and-info/how-to/video/how-do-i-start-creating-my-book-in-bob-designer We do provide a PDF to Book software which is an InDesign plug-in, that generates our templates in InDesign and allow you to export and upload PDFs to create your photobook. This is usually the preferred creation method for our Designers and iNdustry Professionals. You can find out more about it and download and get started here: https://www.bobbooks.co.uk/create/pdf-to-book In regards to the Online preview file, I am sorry you have had difficulty viewing this. We have recently increased the preview size, and it should appear large enough to view text, however you can also try enlarging your screen, if the text is not too small it should be legible. “I have made a few books with Bob now (annually) to use as photo albums. It's great to be able to flick through it and my daughter loves to read it too (as most of the photos are of her!). Bob books are not the cheapest service out there but the quality and service are great and I haven't had any nasty surprises on receiving the book. They come well packaged and it's so exciting to unwrap them. I use the square 20x20 hardback option with standard paper. The software only takes 5 minutes or so to learn and means you can take your time playing around with the layout before uploading it. My top tips would be: - make your photos as light as possible as they tend to print a little darker than they appear on screen - use the full page option as much as you can - it looks modern and shows off your photos at their best - triple check the spelling of your captions as it would be really annoying to have a typo!”

“Very positive experience - easy website tools to create a lovely book with, it crushed now and then but always saved it luckily. Printing and the actually book quality is great. Delivery time was fine too. Next time I'll try a different format and a better quality paper.”

“High quality books unfortunately I ordered 2 sizes from 1 book and the front covers are different colours. I spoke to the very helpful customer services and the books are now being reprinted. Looking forward to seeing the results.”

“Missed a couple of pages and had to re-print, meaning I missed a deadline. That said offered a full apology. I was sent a replacement and also someone's else's book! Disappointed by this but product remains of a high standard overall!”

“The software is very simply to use after some practice and some failed attempts, it takes some time to get used to finding and applying everything you need if you haven't used software like this before. Overall it produced a fabulous book where we maximised every page for a large lay flat and the quality of the printing is amazing. Everyone who has seen it wants one now ????”

“Overall very ease to use. I use my IPAD to create all my books (it makes the commute to work more fun) and there is some unfortunate repetition in terms of some of the page layouts, and a lack of mirrored options for some layouts (an example of a mirrored option means Layout 1 - big square on left page, 4 small squares on right; Layout 2 4 small squares on left page, 1 big square on right) An undo function (even if just for the immediately preceding addition / deletion of a photo) would be a welcome additional feature. Once I have saved a book after adding a few pages (as I have in the past lost work as the application suddenly crashes), the pictures along the bottom row become jumbled - this makes it much harder to find photos if you want to move them to another page, or re-arrange a number of photos on one page.”

“Once the photos were loaded into the software (not a straightforward process for me, but I had technical assistance at this point!) I found the actual compiling of the album relatively easy and even enjoyable. Most things seem intuitive although some appear to be a bit 'clunky', but there may be an easier way to create the end product I desired. I would so much prefer a printed out guide or menu list to refer to and follow, but that simply doesn't seem to be an option any more. Uploading the album was basically easy, although I got a warning sign that one page had nothing on and another had empty place markers. Clearly not the case with my draft. So I uploaded anyway and it was fine. It turns out that I had overwritten a prescribed layout and the software seemed to think I hadn't filled spaces when I had, in fact, placed other pictures over the top. Turnaround was rapid and the end result was as expected BUT there was considerable 'bubbling' inside the back inside cover where the lining sheet had not been properly affixed. Quality assurance not too good. However a quick email and photograph prompted an immediate offer of a reprint which arrived a few days late in perfect condition.”

“Hi, I have been using Bob Books for a number of years now. The programme is easy to use and any questions I have had whilst laying out the photos are answered quickly. The books come in lots of formats and it's easy to add pages if need be. They arrive promptly and are exactly how I laid them out with each page printed to a high quality.”

“A fabulous why to create a gift . It was beautiful. My only complaint is that I would like an option to include writing in the app as I was unable to add text around the photos. It is such a great app allowing different layouts for each page. I want to make another one for my mum and another for my dad. I hope text becomes optional on apps soon.”
