“I am an artist, and I use Bob Books to record photographic images which I use in my work. I find that the reproduction of these images is excellent, as is the binding of the books. I have used other photobook providers, but I find Bob Books the best for my purpose.”

“Chose Bobs Books over others as the initial information was so good - there's even a helpful demonstration video to get you started. Site is easy to navigate and quality of product is excellent. All that's missing is the facility to add text.”

“I was given a voucher for Bobs Books as a gift and decided to purchase a photo album. Once I had watched the video it was easy to compile the book. The hardest part was choosing which photos to put in. I chose a hard back cover with classic paper and was very impressed with the quality of the product and the speed of printing and dispatch. I intend to use this company again and would highly recommend their products and customer service.”

“I really can't fault anything. The recipients of the books commented on their excellent quality. The design software was a pleasure to use, plenty of choice of layouts, fonts etc.and easy to navigate. (Although would like a facility to import text - perhaps in a newer version?) Was amazed at how quickly the book was produced and delivered too. I will certainly use Bob Books again for my next project.”

“I am very pleased/impressed by the excellent quality of reproduction of my photographs in my "Nikon Sketches". However, I was disappointed that despite my care in setting the photos to completely fill a page, a number of them (eg Ready for a Shower, Old town in Tallinn, Just Sleeping) failed to be centred and have an additional beige border on the bottom and right side, What did I do wrongly? Also, it seems that the only way for my book to be available for internet purchase is via Bob Books with its large markup: This means that in reality it would be far too expensive for anybody except an indulgent family member/friend to purchase”

Thank you so much for taking the time to send us your feedback. It sounds like you may not have used our ‘Se image as a background button’ when placing your image full bleed on a page. The setting your image right to the edges of a page, you need to make sure they go up to the ’bleed line’ which is usually between 10mm and 15mm from the trim line. This ensures that when the page get cut, you do not get fine white lines around the edge of the page. Our software is set up to detect when you are putting an image close to the trim line and pull it to the bleed line, perhaps this was switched off? We have a button that will place your selected image full bleed on the page. You can find out how to set images full bleed on the page in our help video: https://www.bobbooks.co.uk/help-and-info/how-to/video/how-do-i-create-a-full-bleed-image-in-bob-designer In regards to selling through the Bookshop – you are able to sell you book at the retail price, or add and Author Mark up price of however much or little you want. It is entirely up to you to set the price. So if you book format is £20, you can add a mark up of 1 pence or £5 or as much as you wish, and this is the price that people will see in the bookshop. “I thought the finished book looked good quality and was impressed with how quickly it was produced and delivered. However, as a graphic designer I found the Bob Designer software very frustrating and restrictive to use. I also found the online viewer to be very low quality - I could see the pages but couldn't read the text at all as it was so low res.”

We do have a help video to help customers get started as we understand it can take a while to get the hang of new software. https://www.bobbooks.co.uk/help-and-info/how-to/video/how-do-i-start-creating-my-book-in-bob-designer We do provide a PDF to Book software which is an InDesign plug-in, that generates our templates in InDesign and allow you to export and upload PDFs to create your photobook. This is usually the preferred creation method for our Designers and iNdustry Professionals. You can find out more about it and download and get started here: https://www.bobbooks.co.uk/create/pdf-to-book In regards to the Online preview file, I am sorry you have had difficulty viewing this. We have recently increased the preview size, and it should appear large enough to view text, however you can also try enlarging your screen, if the text is not too small it should be legible. “This is the 3rd time I've used Bobs Books for wedding albums where I am just a hobbyist photographer. Although more expensive that your high street printing shops and the deals via vouchors online, you know you are getting top quality printing and when the treasured memories are so special, it's important to know your in safe hands with Bobs Books. The process is so easy and putting the books together is actually quite exciting. You pay for what you get. Pay less, get less. Pay more and you won't regret it.”

“I love the photo book that I compiled for my husband on his birthday. The web site was easy to navigate and helped me design a fantastic book. I was so p leased when it arrived. The turn around time was excellent as was customer service when I had a query. I am already in the middle of making my second book for my mums 90th”

“I found Bob Books easy and intuitive to use. Lots of guidelines and help videos and the software offered lots of flexibility and design opportunities. I enjoyed using it and will happily use it again. My only comment is that the font size in the text boxes is slightly larger in print than it appears on screen.”

“I am from Australia and there are lots of photo book sites here, but I love using Bob Books. It's easy to use and manipulate. I love the way you can be creative and imaginative because the tools allow that - you are not forced into a certain way of having to set out your pages. And the colours are magnificent. I wait impatiently every time I've put in an order and I'm never disappointed!!”

“The software is very user friendly and allows you to produce a professional book which is only enhanced further with the quality of the paper and binding of the product. This is my 4th photobook using Bobs books and I have never yet been disappointed in the results.”
