Our family, including our two granddaughters aged 5 and 3 had an EXCEPTIONAL, holiday at Stira Bay. A great variety of good kit for everyone wanting to go on the water and to cycle. Something for everyone. The staff were incredible with so much enthusiasm and energy, going out of their way to maximise the activities that we could do and adapted, as much as they were able to, to ensure that the girls could also join in the fun - which is what it was from beginning to end. Simply amazing. The whole feeling with this place and in this bijou hotel is one of intimacy but there is also plenty of space, it is very well laid out and picturesque. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. It was one of our delights to be able to explore the local Tavernas and enjoy wonderful Greek food, especially seafood. The town doesn’t wake up properly though until June, so it was very quiet during the May half term, not all Tavernas were open but we still had plenty of choice. Thank you also to the UK team for assisting us with the booking and for being so responsive and helpful. We had such a fabulous holiday that we are already looking to go again!

My family recently had a fantastic week on Evia Island with Beyond Beach. The Beyond Beach team were brilliant and we had a great time dinghy (and mini cat) sailing and wind surfing. The Venus Hotel at Stira Bay Beach Club was excellent – great accommodation and delicious food and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We will definitely book a holiday with Beyond Beach again.

I've just returned from a 2 week holiday at BeyondBeach's Lixouri site and had the best windsurfing, sailing, and wing foiling instruction and experience of my life! It was even better than the first time I went. If you are into or want to learn these sailing and wind/wing sports I highly recommend BeyondBeach. The sun, hotel, food, people, and service are unbeatable.

We have now been 4 years running with Beyond Beach, both at Lixouri Bay (Kefalonia) and Nea Styra (Evia). Brilliant holidays!

Just returned from a great week in Evia. Michelle and her team were all brilliant. Ben running the bikes was fantastic and the children (8,11,14) loved all the staff. Great sailing and windsurfing sessions. A lovely family run hotel with delicious beach bbqs. We will definitely be back, thank you all!

A fun week with Michelle and her team at Stira Beach. Brilliant beach team, lots of activities, great vibe, lovely food at Taverna Lefka, very clean rooms with sea view. Kids (14&15) made good friends and ditched their boring parents to play uno by the pool! A really great week. We will be back.

It was a fabulous holiday - the staff were helpful from the booking process to answering our enquiries. Arrival welcome was fantastic and Shirley and her team gave us a wonderful introduction to sailing. Couldn’t have asked for more! Thank you - would 100% recommend

We wanted to book a 'Learn to Sail' course in preparation for a flotilla we had already booked. Hubby already has Day Skipper/ICC but I had little sailing experience so we wanted a company that would help us to learn to sail together (and in the sunshine!). Right from the start, Beyond the beach made the whole booking process easy and were very efficient. They answered all our questions quickly and informatively to ensure a smooth booking process. Before we had taken off at Gatwick we even had a little text message providing a point of contact and a process from the moment we landed. Booking and arrival could not have been easier with our skipper waiting to greet us upon arrival and show us our boat/facilities (as an aside, the welcome things provided on the boat are very useful and much appreciated). Shirley and her team were fabulous and accommodated our needs, allowing us to focus on the practicalities (and safety elements) of sailing short handed rather than getting bogged down with too much theory (I did not want to focus on the theory side of things as hubby already has his ICC - something for next time maybe and another trip back to Beyond the Beach). We had Jess as our skipper for the week and she was fabulous and really nice easy company. Super patient - no question was a stupid one - and she really made the whole thing fun, informative and enjoyable. We have come away feeling excited and ready for our flotilla in a few weeks. Lixouri was a great base for this type of holiday offering scenic gentle sailing without the crowds (admittedly it was mid-may) - with the odd turtle thrown in for good measure. Lots of places for food/coffee and great choice of little restaurants serving authentic Greek food at a very reasonable price. We actually found it cheaper to eat out than buy food and cook on the boat - the locals are very friendly and welcoming. All in all, we had a really great week and holiday - learnt loads, met some lovely people, ate incredibly well and had lots of fun - big thanks to Shirley and her team (inc Sennan - another fabulous instructor and Martin the boat maintenance man) and a particularly huge thanks to Jess.

Great team, everyone ooozed enthusiasm for making our trip the best it could be. Super comms up to and on arrival. Outstanding sailing team, particular shout out to exceptional Shirley and Maddy impressed us too. Shirley put me at my ease to qualify as a skipper, her experience, little hints and tips made all the difference to my confidence. We loved the experience. Shame the weather was against us one day but it was Sept. We will be back. Well equipped boats, btw it’s not too stressful feeding your skipper keep it simple it’s about sailing at the end of the day. Little note - sleeping onboard is different if you like creature comforts bring a pillow/mattress topper. I hope the shower room will be upgraded before we go again, it’s totally functional and clean just somewhat dated. Thanks Beyond Beach for fab-u-lous holiday.

A well priced holiday in good accommodation and loved that, as well as our walking package, which was great, we had the option to do water sport

We had a fantastic learn to sail holiday in Kefalonia under the expert guidance of the lovely Shirley. We learned a brain full about sailing and gained so much confidence handling Escape. We will be back next year to join a flotilla and put our new skills to good use 😁

As a group of two couples we have regularly been with other beach club holiday companies but were looking for something more personal that offered a variety of activities both on and off the beach as we don’t all sail. Beyond Beach certainly achieve this at their Stira Bay resort. We were all able to enjoy some great mountain biking routes with Sam, and two of us enjoyed extending our sailing skills on the catermerans, and one attempted to learn winging. Jake and all the beach staff were friendly and encouraged us to get out on the water (the two non-sailors enjoyed the joy rides). As we were there for the last two weeks of the season there were not that many BB guests which gave us the opportunity to get to know people. The hotel room was small but had a comfortable balcony which had fabulous views over the sea. The hotel itself is a little tired (bathroom/shower could do with an upgrade). The two beach bbqs were great, but the breakfasts and evening meals we found rather limited - food not always hot and limited choice - coffee machine was out of order for 3 days! We chose to eat downstairs as the ‘canteen’ was bleak and noisy but this meant tables were not set up and not always clean. The bar is not run by the hotel, rather expensive, beer and wine options were not great. We found a few nice places in town for evening meals and drinks. All in all we had a great two weeks - we were impressed with the BB staff, always quick to answer any queries. We hope to travel with them again soon but would want there to be a good range of activities (including mountain biking) to satisfy all our needs.

As first time Beyond Beach guests and Stira Bay new to BB this year so no reviews when we booked, we were slightly apprehensive about our holiday. Happy to say we had one of the best holidays ever and about to book for 2025! We are a family of 5 (13, 17 & 20) and were trying to squeeze in a week before Boardmasters, Boomtown and results day. Athens to Stira Bay is an easy journey via the transfer bus (c1hr) and ferry (c40 mins). The resort had something for everyone - non stop water/land activities, dip in & out when you wanted or just lie on a lounger with a good book. Michelle and her team made us feel so welcome and taught us how to sail, windsurf and wing foil. We took SUPs & kayaks out every day and joined the group paddle early one morning. Fitness & relaxation sessions by the sea with Rosie were fabulous. The table tennis tournament, whacky races & the Saturday regatta satisfied the competitive members of our family! We ran out of time but there were regular group cycles - something for next year. Sunset BBQs, buffet breakfasts & a 25 mins walk along the beach to Nea Styra for more restaurants (& the Flamingo bar for the older teenagers 🙂). We all came home having made new friends and look forward to returning next July.

A large group of us (13 on one booking and 6 more on three other bookings; all adults) went to Stira Bay at the beginning of September. We had a great time. The beach team were extremely friendly and helpful, the location was brilliant, and we enjoyed the range of activities. Unfortunately (and entirely my fault not theirs) I can confirm first-hand that the beach team are also calm in a crisis and very good at first aid! The selection of boats could have been better (would be nice to have some lasers, and more cats and doublehanders as there was contention for those in good wind conditions) and there was also often contention for the two wing foils. A bit more kit would make it perfect. Booking was easy - Mark and the team were very helpful with the large group booking, airport transfer logistics, and adding on an extra person very last minute. The hotel was very nice - rooms weren't that large but had everything we needed. It would be nice if they had some water coolers dotted around for guests to refill bottles - we felt we created a lot of plastic waste and also wasted time waiting at the bar just to buy water. We booked early and so had rooms in the 20s and 30s which were really close to everything. We really liked having housekeeping come in the afternoon rather than morning. Food was okay but could be better. The bar at Stira Bay (which is a separate business to the hotel) we found quite slow and inefficient; the hotel restaurant was better, but didn't open for lunch until 13:30 which was annoying if you wanted to get back to sailing at 14:00. The mountain bikes were good quality but there was a shortage of small ones and the smallest size (when available) was still not that small. Would be good to get a couple of XS ones for people under 5'3". Overall a great trip, I think it was BB's first year running a holiday at Stira Bay so hopefully they'll make it even better in future :-)
