“I have just returned from Stira Bay holiday with 18 year old, Rugby playing son, Theo - we had a fantastic time and cannot wait to return!! Booking was easy, questions were all answered, the transfers from Athens to Evia were super-smooth, the hotel was in a beautiful location. But the best thing?? Was the Beyond Beach team led by Michelle - they were all so friendly, helpful and accommodating, nothing was ever a problem and we throughly enjoyed our time with them. Importantly there were plenty of boats, kayaks, paddle boards, bikes and other equipment for everyone - we never had to wait for anything. And such a great variety of activities- we always planned to make the early morning swims and exercise sessions but some late nights socialising with other families, with too many fabulous Majitos and Pina Coladas, meant we didn’t quite manage to make any of them! Next time. We can’t wait to return next year! And I have included one photo which sums our week up. A massive THANKS to the Stira Bay Team”

“5 stars isn't enough to summarise our experience with Beyond Beach and the knowledgeable staff we encountered throughout the booking process. Our flotilla holiday with Rory and Paul our skippers was nothing short of awesome. From the moment of the first detailed briefing we set sail on the sparkling waters of the Ionian Sea, we knew we were in expert hands. Rory and Paul brought the perfect balance of professionalism, knowledge, and good humour—always making sure we felt safe, confident, and completely at ease on the water. The Ionian itself was breathtaking: hidden coves, crystal-clear bays, and charming harbours where every stop felt like a postcard come to life. Evenings were unforgettable—anchoring in secluded spots, sharing laughter and stories with new friends, and some of us choosing to sleep in the cockpit under a stunning tapestry of stars with the gentle rocking of the boat! What really set this trip apart, though, was the atmosphere Rory and Paul created. They struck the perfect note between adventure and relaxation—teaching us along the way, encouraging us to hone our sailing technique, and then knowing exactly when to step back so we could just soak in the beauty of it all. It wasn’t just a sailing holiday—it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience of connection, freedom, and pure joy. We left with sun on our faces, rejuvenated and wiser with memories we’ll treasure forever. If you’re looking for an unforgettable Ionian adventure, you couldn’t hope for better skippers or a more magical experience. “First time with an activity holiday like this and it truly was one of best holidays we've had. The Venus beach hotel location is stunning, staff super friendly and worked so hard with a smile and genuine commradery on show. Evie was a master helping our boys go from never sailing before, through their RYA level 1 and joining in a regatta at the end of a week and was so kind and encouraging with them. We ate breakfast by the sea, had gorgeous early morning paddle board tours, bike rides, 5km runs along the beach, fitness classes for all levels and hosted by the personable and skilled team. Would definitely rebook with Beyond Beach again. Thanks to Michelle, Mia and the whole beach team for everything.”

“We have had an amazing holiday at Vaujany with Beyond Beach this summer. From the check-in emails prior to travel we knew that we would be well looked after during there and we were. Alun, Susie and James couldn't have been more welcoming, always checking with us to make sure we were ok, providing detailed information and recommendations on what to do in the area and then arranging activities for us, going above and beyond to make our holiday something to remember. The food was always top quality with a special mention to the cakes upon our return to the chalet each afternoon, the daily yoga was an added bonus. So many different activities to do, walks in the mountains and up to the waterfall, mountain biking down the mountain and sedately along the river, white water rafting and activities on the lake were all on offer plus lots we didn't get experience. A holiday to remember and we are already talking about going back next year for new adventures!”

“We have just returned from a fantastic week at Lixouri Bay! The booking process was very easy with the UK office answering my many questions in advance of our trip. Transfer to & from the airport in Kefalonia was efficient with the taxi company messaging me in advance to combine us into a minibus with another family to save costs. The family run Lazaratos Hotel was fabulous, be prepared for it being out of town though with no facilities or shops nearby, we took a taxi into town with two other guests when we arrived for E10 each way and stocked up on lots of bottled water, drinks & snacks for the room etc. But the beauty of it being out of town was that we felt our 13 yr old son was safe walking from the hotel to the beach with his new friends. From everyone sitting not really talking on the first night by the end of the week we felt like we knew everyone & made some lovely friends! Great buffet food on the inclusive nights and always something that our fussy eater could eat. Great choice of delicious food at lunchtime from the poolside bar. The beach facilities were great with lots of different sized windsurf sails & boards available. My husband was on one of the three catamarans every day whilst i enjoyed the single hand Topaz boats. We didn't go to any of the organized sessions as we can already sail so cant comment on those. Our only niggle was that the staff took a while to accept that we (including our son) could sail and let us take boats out in windier conditions. We would definitely go back.”

“Our family of four, including two teenage boys, had a fabulous week learning to sail yachts out of Lixouri. Our instructor Shirley was a fantastic teacher, with incredible depth of experience that she passed on with patience and good humour; but also great company to have with us on the boat every day. We couldn't believe how much we grew in confidence and ability as the week went by. We're already planning to go back to do the flotilla holiday, and put our new skills to use. On shore, Lixouri was a lovely town to have as our base, and gave us a week of great eating and drinking in its bars, restaurants and bakeries. This is our second holiday with Beyond Beach - we also went 7 years ago to the dinghy sailing in Kefalonia - and we love the way they deliver a high quality experience with such a laid back attitude. They seem to have the knack of seeing the holiday from the guests' point of view, and then doing everything to make it as fun and relaxing as possible.”

“Our family's holiday with Beyond Beach Alpine Club in Vaujany was nothing short of spectacular. Every day was a new adventure that somehow topped the one before. Our kids, ages 9 and 13, were completely in their element with everything from thrilling high ropes and epic mountain biking to breathtaking alpine hikes and a daunting Via Ferrata. Us adults loved every minute of it, too! The activities on offer around Vaujany felt like endless adventure. We explored via the cable cars, used the amazing Le Collet with its sports and outdoor nature pool, and discovered a host of other options. This place is truly a hidden gem in the Alps. We even managed to find time to grab some fantastic burgers from Shred Burgers! But not quite as good as the delicious BBQs cooked for us at the Chalet! The team at the chalet—James, Susy, Jamima, and Alun—were fantastic hosts. They took care of every detail, making sure nothing was ever too much trouble. We all need a James in our lives to just handle everything in the background! Coming home to one of Susy's or Jamima's amazing afternoon cakes became the perfect daily essential, and their excellent yoga sessions were an added bonus. The community atmosphere in the chalet was a wonderful bonus, and we loved spending a week with so many like-minded families. This is a holiday that will live long in our memories. It was our first trip with Beyond Beach. Our feeling after this trip is that they’re brilliant holiday company run by brilliant people.”

“We had the most fantastic time on our Alpine holiday. The chalet felt like a real home-from-home and was the perfect base to return to after a day in the mountains. It had such a welcoming atmosphere and was just as lovely for relaxing as it was for gearing up for another adventure. The range of activities on offer was incredible and there was something for the whole family - every day was filled with new adventures against the most spectacular scenery. James was brilliant at helping us organise everything so we could just focus on enjoying ourselves – nothing was ever too much trouble. The yoga with Jemima was amazing too. The food was another highlight. Susy’s cakes in the afternoon were absolutely delicious and became something we all looked forward to each day! The BBQ evenings were also excellent, with so much food and a great atmosphere. We would never have thought of the Alps as a summer holiday destination, but having been on a Beyond Beach trip to Stira Bay before we trusted the company and decided to try something new. Now the only problem is that we don’t know how we’ll choose each summer between their beach or alpine holidays…maybe the answer is to just do both!?”

“Just returned from a fantastic holiday at Stira Bay. Really couldn't fault it, the staff are friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, the kit is excellent, so many activities I'm not sure I ever managed to sit down on a lounger. Excellent communication leading up to the holiday as well. We've been on a couple of Mark Warner holidays, and this was every bit as good, if not better in some areas - there were always staff on the beach ready to give an impromptu lesson or tips, it was very relaxed and flexible which really suited us. If you're thinking about booking go for it, you won't regret it!”

“Had the most amazing trip to the Alps with Beyond Beach. It was a lovely Chalet with breathtaking views of mountain peaks and waterfalls. Lots of biking and walking and cooling off in mountain streams. The yoga was blissfull and excellently taught by Jemima. James and Suzi couldn't do enough to help us arrange activities. We are definitely going again!!!”

“We renamed this company to “Above & Beyond Beach” after our Summer Alpine holiday with the company. The pre booking chats & emails with Amelia gave us a taste of the bespoke type of holiday this team offer. She supported us with travel plans, booking activities & local information. We arrived late due to car issues, we were greeted by the team with food, drink & a hug! Susie is an amazing cook, pancakes & omelettes for breakfast, afternoon cake and 2 delicious bbqs. James sorted out our activities, bike hire, horse riding, white water rafting and gave recommendation's for walks etc. Jemima’s daily outside yoga sessions were planned with the group’s ability and energy levels in mind. The mini aromatherapy head massage to finish was bliss! The chalet felt like home by the end of the week, 2 comfy bedrooms and our own bathroom in a separate area. The garden, table tennis & hot-tub were well utilised by the group. The other families were lovely like minded outdoorsy people, there were lots of after dinner giggles over wine & uno.”

“We have had a truly unforgettable holiday on the Beginner’s sailing holiday under Shirley’s expert care. She is an exceptional instructor who works out how to get the family ticking right from the off. With 17, 14 and 11 year old daughters, not always easy to please, Shirley has taught us so much in sailing terms (with encouragement, fun, humour, flexibility and confidence-building her endless focus), but also on a truly human level in terms of her approach to life and positive approach. She has so much experience, I could have listened to her for at least another week! Teaching was of the highest quality with our endless questions answered. We enjoyed wonderful sea swims after lunch on every sailing day too. Regarding the holiday overall, the other families on the course alongside us were wonderful (one fully supported to travel and enjoy a great week despite having to leave a partner back home due to illness). It’s important to add that Luxouri is a really pretty town with great bars and tavernas to relax and enjoy after a day on the water. Thr town has its own beach and there are others nearby with affordable taxis ready to take you wherever you want to go, not to mention the nearby ferry to Argostoli. The BB team bend over backwards to send you to the right places too, and shops and mouth watering bakeries are a 5 mins walk. We will most certainly be returning for the flotilla holiday. I’d do it next week if I could and already miss the water so much. Thank you so much to the BB team, I will carry this learning experience (that I wasn’t quite sure would be right for me when I booked and was quite nervous about!), in all my life beyond ❤️ It has been such a treat to be challenged in a happy and positive way, and without having to host a skipper 24/7 so a very easy mix of holiday fun and sailing focus. Thanks to BB arranging and offering this, we can now take the next step on our sailing journey ahead ⛵️”

“Almost a 5. First trip to Stira, third with BB. Excellent staff. Mature and friendly young people especially Mia and Emily. Hotel was fine - loved secret beach and sunsets and warm waters. Loved accessibility to town which really made a difference to isolation of Kefalonian resort. Great windsurfing kit which was in demand as sailing did not run for 3 days due to very high winds. On days sailing ran boats were ok …2 of 3 lasers were not in service and largely sail controls non adjustable. Could do with a more robust more advanced dinghy for non beginners…. Neo? Also 2 Argos were in high demand for lessons so could do with something like a 2000 for other guests? Vago too tippy for most and didn’t go out all week. These are minor points but would strengthen your offer for sailing enthusiasts. Thank you BB. Fond memories.”

“We've just returned from a second summer holiday in Luxori bay. Hugo and Nell were wonderful and made our family feel so special returning this year, from the personal welcome when we arrived through to the hugs when we left. Ben was superb running the sailing and beach activities and made it great fun whilst always being completely on top of the safety aspect - he is a complete star. Noah was really flexible as the bike guide and we had some super rides with him during the week. And finally, Aki and the Lazaratos family made us feel like we were part of their extended family for the week. Already we’re sure that we’ll be back next year and quite frankly, one week is not enough. We’ll have to come for 2 weeks next year I think. What you have in Luxori is very special! Thank you Beyond Beach for making such wonderful memories for our family.”

“We're just back from a fantastic week at Lixouri Bay. Such a great setting, the most hospitable, hard-working and friendly family running the hotel, a great group of Beyond Beach staff, all activities very well run by Hugo, Ben and Nell, nothing was too much trouble for them and all the staff, most of them still very young, were always happy to chat, help, offer advice etc. We biked, sailed, wind-surfed, swam, paddled, yoga-ed and partied with some lovely like-minded families. There's something for everyone and we'll definitely think about returning next year. Thank you everyone at Beyond Beach!”

“This was our first experience of a 'beach club' type holiday and we absolutely loved it! The setting is beautiful with a very relaxed feel. The family who run the hotel were the most warm, friendly people you could wish to meet and we had some yummy food over the week. The Beyond Beach staff running such a wide variety of activities were great fun and very confident on the water with great patience for teaching us new skills - between us we have learnt sailing, windsurfing and winging, as well as beach walks, bike rides and daily yoga with the lovely Nell (SUP yoga was a particular favourite). Activities for the kids and teens went down really well and were a great way of meeting others without any sense of it being 'forced fun' - very sociable for us adults too - met some great people. We have never returned to a holiday destination before but having found Beyond Beach, we just might!”

“Thank you Hugo, Nell and Ben for another wonderful holiday, they just keep getting better. The inclusion of Yoga this year as part of the activities at Lazaratos hotel is brilliant. There is something for everyone. My husband and brother went out cycling every morning, exploring the island whilst we enjoyed a morning swim or simply relaxed with a morning coffee overlooking the amazing views. During the day we all took part in a huge range of watersports activities, making new friends and learning new skills. Each evening, whilst the boys relaxed in the beach bar reflecting on their day, me and the kids looked forward to Nell's calming and relaxing Yoga sessions, which were accompanied by the sound of 'crickets'. This was a wonderful way of rounding off the day, always well attended and something I am looking to take back home with me. As always, the food was amazing. Akis, Dino and the family looked after us all so well. For someone with complicated dietary requirements, I was able to eat a huge range of delicious, homemade Greek food with confidence. Hugo inspires the team, family, friends and guests, with fun, respect and kindness. This perpetuates throughout everyone in the resort and creates a loving family feeling where all are supporting each other to learn new skills, make new friends and have fun. Thank you and we look forward to seeing you all again next year.”
