“Had the BEST time with these guys! As a total beginner it was amazing to have a go at so many water sports and sailing - the staff were all super friendly and supportive and the hotel was clean, comfy and great food. Special thanks to Hugo and Nell for instantly making me feel welcome, and to Flynn and Finlay for getting me solo dinghy sailing for the first time! Had a wonderful flotilla sail on a catamaran with Bertie! The equipment was so good and the setting is amazing, sandy beach, shallow warm waters and just the right mix of calm days for SUP and windy days for sailing and wing surfing. I’ll definitely be back! Loved it ❤️❤️❤️”

““Best holiday ever!” Were the words that came from both my 8 and 10 year old girls. This would have been enough but this was echoed by me and my wife. There was so much to do and all of it with either top notch equipment and/or instruction from the friendliest beach team. Round that off with the delicious food and a cocktail or two in the evenings and things couldn’t be better. Or could they? You get to do again the next day and the day and the next day …. Loved it all and can’t wait to come back again.”

“We have just returned from another 2 weeks of wonderful sailing / activity at Stira Bay. Just like last year the team was led by Michelle, the whole team are all so friendly, accommodating and really encourage you to get stuck in! Which we did :-) So many highlights but we loved the Sail Away and the Wacky Races. We're already looking forward to next year!!”

“Where to begin?! This was an exceptional holiday thats given us lasting memories. It was good from the start: a straightforward booking process helped. It was clear what the options were and we were choosing, and even though we made a couple of changes prior to departure, each of these was accommodated without hassle, confusion or a penalty. Email communication was always speedy and friendly, and as our trip approached, we received everything we needed to get packed up and know what the arrangements were on arrival. The boat itself was comfortable, well-equipped and in good nick. It was great having the boat to ourselves overnight with easy access to shops and restaurants, and a thoughtful bonus was having the use of an apartment just opposite the marina for kitchen/bathroom needs. Our instructor, Sennen, was outstanding: he was knowledgeable, warm, good fun and inspired great confidence in us as fairly novice sailors. This was a great way to explore a corner of Kefalonia and a great introduction to sailing. It demystified some of the technical aspects and the learning experience was immersed in fun. Plenty of jumping off the boat to snorkel, swim or just cool off, alongside plenty of solid instruction and turn-taking. There was free time around the edges to explore, and being walking distance to the square made it easy to rat out rather than depend on the galley for every meal. Being alongside just two other boats on similar trips created a little community with mutual support and friendly chat, but without any sense of feeling cramped or of there being any expectations to mix.”

“The outstanding feature of Beyond Beach in Kefalonia is the Greek family welcome of the Lazaratos hotel which flows down from the brothers and cousins there to the young beach staff and management. The beach ‘vibe’ is laid back, casual, unspoiled but the staff are very willing and professional. It’s all about enjoying the natural beauty (landscape, weather and humans).”

“Beautiful location, very friendly, helpful staff, nothing too much trouble and that applies to all the staff across the hotel. Loved being so close to the village and the fabulous sunset walks along the beach to local tavernas for dinner. Two great inclusive beach BBQ’s which give us the opportunity to meet other guests and sample Greek food from the grill; along side fabulous salads etc. Excellent kit which isn’t usually the case so late in the season. Great wind throughout the entire week … Would highly recommend and definitely return…”

“Just back from a very relaxing week in Lixouri. Both the staff at the family run hotel and the Beyond Beach staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. The enthusiasm of the instructors was fantastic. Between the 4 of us we paddle boarded; cycled; swum; kayaked sailed and windsurfed. I also did daily yoga classes with the lovely Nell. There was no pressure to do anything, but it was very nice just being able to use any equipment as and when you wanted to. Food at the hotel was fantastic, and we also went into Lixouri, which is 5 minute taxi ride away, for a few meals. Would highly recommend Beyond Beach and will probably use them again.”

“We had such a great week with Beyond Beach at their Lixouri Beach club on Kefalonia. Everyone was so great - the family who ran the Lazaratos Hotel were so friendly and welcoming and the young people who ran all the activities were all very sweet and fun to be around, they all seemed really happy and they gave good tuition in sailing and windsurfing. We all tried some new sports, my daughter and I loved the yoga and pilates under a shady tree beside the beach and we both tried dinghy sailing and windsurfing which was great fun. My husband and son mainly like sailing, but they both enjoyed a windsurfing lesson too. The hotel has beautiful views from above the bay, it was so lovely eating in the restaurant daily, it's open sided so you could feel the breeze and watch the goings-on in the bay. Breakfast had a good choice, greek yoghurt and fruit, muesli, cereal, eggs,bacon, pastries, juice coffee - something for everyone. The evening meals were good, again with plenty of choice and a couple of themed nights. Lixouri is a short taxi ride away and great for a change of scenery in the evening with many restaurants. I'd recommend the holiday for anyone with active kids and if you have very young children in your group the beach is perfect for them as it's shallow water for many metres out and it doesn't shelve away steeply at any point. There is a nice pool at the hotel, beside which we had lunch every day, but we swam in the sea as it was always so warm and clear. There's a laid-back, vibe which I loved (we went out of the main school holiday season, when it was quieter) all the other guests were friendly and relaxed types. If you're an advanced-level dinghy sailor who wants to race every day then I'd say it's not the place for you and you possibly won't be challenged by the limited choice of boats on offer but there was at least plenty of wind the week we were there. As a mixed ability/enthusiasm-for-sailing family group it was perfect for us and we all had lots of fun on the water and we all found something to enjoy. It's great that they offer things like yoga and cycling too, so even if you don't want to go out on the water, you can still do something active. The staff in the UK office were very responsive to emails and were helpful in giving advice and information about transfers to and from the resort - for fun I wanted to take the ferry from Argostoli to Lixouri, rather than the taxi all the way from the airport, and they explained how to do that. Nell, our lovely yoga teacher at the resort, was very helpful at organising our taxi back to the airport and giving advice on the local area. Beyond Beach was definitely one of our very favourite summer holidays we've had as a family.”

“This was our first experience of an activity holiday - the aim was to keep our teenage kids in the water and off their phones... and it was a huge success. The team at BB Lixouri were brilliant with us and the kids - we all oved the activities, but also that you can chill out when you want to. The hotel and family who run it were also lovely and the setting is stunning. Definitely recommended!”

“We have just arrived back from another fantastic week with the Beyond Beach Flotilla. This was our second trip this season as we had so much fun on the June Delivery trip that we booked again to bring some friends along in August. Paul and Rory are the best team you could ask for - their endless patience and good humour is wonderful and they are so much fun to be around. We’ve had great wind this week and been lucky enough to drop anchor in tiny coves and swim to little beaches that are almost inaccessible from land. Cannot wait for next year.”

“We had a terrific family holiday which catered for all 3 of our generations. The staff were excellent, friendly and full of energy and enthusiasm. A good variety of activities were provided from sailing, to wind surfing, to yoga, volleyball and cycling. The children were well entertained so the adults had time to have a go at all the sports too. Altogether a great holiday.”

“Fourth holiday with Beyond Beach (BB) in 3 years and still delighted with all of them. This summer we went to Stira Bay after a couple of trips in previous years to Lixouri Bay and have just finished our week in the Alps chalet. The BB team make the holidays special and we have felt very well looked after (including in the Alps by Beyond Beach owners James and Susie). They are more of a holiday package than a package holiday and at all the hotels and chalets we have felt independent and able to choose to what we wanted, underpinned by advice and activity options provided by BB team to guide us. Highly recommended.”

“Had a lovely week at the Lixouri Bay beach club. Hugo and the team made us feel very welcome. The thing I like about Beyond Beach is that you can do as little or as much as you like and never feel judged. The location is ideal for water sports or just sitting on the Sandy beach. Agis and the hotel staff were so lovely too. For us Beyond Beach are the best of the bunch.”

“We had the most amazing week in Evia with the Beyond Beach Team. It was our second time at Stira Bay and we thoroughly enjoyed the activities, meeting new people and also hanging out with friends we had met on previous BB holidays. The beach team led by Michelle are superb and go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is looked after. There was a wider range of activities to choose from this year and we enjoyed the cycling, running and other classes that were on offer. The addition of beach towels also meant our cases were a bit lighter. The location of the hotel means that you can easily get into Nea Styra and the old town so lunches and dinners are nice and varied. We would definitely do a BB holiday again in the future as a family we thoroughly enjoyed it!”
