I placed a bet on the 2020 US Presidential election and this election is in its DUE PROCESS meaning that the outcome is NOT called yet. Betfair obscured from the bet proposition that it would settle the market on the candidate that had the most projected Electoral College votes... SCAM SCAM SCAM!

You settled the US 2020 presidential election prematurely and against your own rules. As dueling electors has been sent to washington from contested states, the majority of electors votes will not be official until january 6th in congress. A ”projected majority” has been expressed since november 3d by the media. Therefore you broke your own terms as you stated november 27th that all legal battles need to be settled and official result be ”clear”, following procedure by the 12th amendment. Lawsuits are still pending. Expect some against you if Trump wins on constitutional grounds. As you had to pay back for your too early settlements on Hillary-bets 2016, you will have to pay this one back also.

The way they handled the US election market, the biggest in their history, was an absolute shambles.

The current Election 2020 is still going but Betfair is playing Unfair. They already picked Biden as their winner. But there is no winner unless the President is inaugurated at 2021. And mark my word it is going to be Trump and I will come for my money! They said they will wait until all pending cases are solved but they didn't. Don't bet on these sites. They made the same mistake in 2016 and had to pay out. Now in 2021 they will have to pay out even more!

They settled the bets on presidential election before the on 14th December. They lured people in to place bets on Trump with very attractive odds on their exchange platform. People placed their bets thinking betfair would honour it on inauguration day when the true winner is announced. But instead they settled the bets based on Electoral Votes. The Electoral votes are yet to be certified on 6th of Jan, so in all fairness they settled the bets based on projected electoral votes. I know of no one who would have placed a bet based on "projected electoral votes". This is third world kind of scam run by a massive company in the UK. Do not trust them with your money! Scammers!

Betfair closed a £1.7b market on the US 2020 Presidential Election before the winner had been officially named - and during massive fraud legal cases. Millions of Trump backers around the world have been robbed of their potential winnings and stakes. Disgraceful and fraudulent call on the part of Betfair. They are as bad as the rest of them. Time for genuine and honest sportsbook to rise up from the ashes. Betfair is not a trustworthy company.

They settled the US presidential election while there on going lawsuits and investigations into fraud and stated no future events will change the settlement. So what happens if the Biden electors votes were voided and given to Trump? That changes the resulys. The election is under dispute and they already settled the markets. It makes them look so uninformed.

Genuinely don’t know where to begin Genuinely don’t know where to begin, I don’t...I’ve never witnessed anything like it. Deposited a tenner, had a crack at bingo and won. Wagered x amount and my winnings were then cash. Cashed out, logged back on to be told my account was closed. Oh. So off to live help I go, asking if it’s possibly because of a verification issue, as that’s happened before on other sites with photo ID and the rest Nope, closed on business grounds, we will be retaining your £140 but you can have your tenner back pal, how does that sound...erm right, so why? “We can’t tell you, T’s&C’s said we could do this and you agreed so 🤷‍♂️ Furious does not come close. 100s of people online saying the same thing, some for 1000s of pounds. I’ve not had ANY correspondence, no email to tell me it was closed, no letter, nada, zero, zilch. Seems they can close accounts when they want to. I asked to escalate it further, a proper complaints procedure to be told I couldn’t. Contacting the gambling commissioner this morning. AVOID.

What has happened to them? I have held my account for 12 years, never had any issues. I have bet over £100,000 with them in that time period and am a priority customer. The way that I have been treated is disgusting. They suspended my account and told me that I had to send in a copy of my passport, bank statements and payslips. I was fine with the first two things but I do not work anymore, I am retired and, therefore, cannot provide them with payslips. I have tried to speak to people, tried to email, tried to chat and the responses that I have gotten are simply shocking. I have been told that they "don't know" what documentation someone in my position can provide. I have tried to escalate the issue, taking up hours of my time, but to no avail. I have been unable to speak to a manager at all, apparently they don't deal with the public, and most of the time I don't even get a response from them. If that's how they treat priority customers then heaven knows how they treat their regular customers! I have been to Cheltenham in the Betfair box, I had a great relationship with them, but now they won't even give me the time of day. So, if you are a serious punter looking for a genuine place to bet where you are treated correctly, DO NOT CHOOSE BETFAIR!
