“Betfair makes their bonus system impossibly unclear. I played a few mini-games on the poker client and I was actually winning. This rarely happens and normally costs me a chunck of my poker bankroll, but now that I was winning I was suddenly playing with 'bonus money' (a bonus that I DID accept, just never realised that I was using it to play these games now) and all the winnings (about 400e) got voided when the bonus expired. No warning, no clarification, only small unclear print when I accepted the bonus. The extra money in my account initially, caused me to make some unwise bankroll decisions. Not coming back.”

“I recently had a bet on I'm a cele get me out of here, the bet was for Wayne Bridge to leave 7th. On the night both he and another contestant were announced together that both were leaving. I lost my bet, when I contacted Betfair they told me that the other contestant walked across the bridge first so that is why I lost. I argued with Betfair that it was a deadheat and I should get half the odds but they refuse to budge. After 15 years of have an account I will no longer bet with them, they are getting another penny out of them! Paul McCloud”

“My account was hacked about 25 days ago. Fraud dept said it would take 3 days to sort out and reimburse me for the losses. I have sent numerous e mails to customer services and have still not received an appropriate response. The matter is still unresolved and the issue has been overly stressful”

“Absurd customer service. Needed to understandably send proof of age to them, but got the date wrong when I initially set up the account (just not concentrating, my bad but happens). Wanted a form of ID, a bank statement and picture of my payment card. Sent a government issued non-EU 10 years valid biometrics card, a bank statement which I blanked out all personal information/finances that was not relevant to proof of age or address, and photo of bank card with bits blanked out as well (which they actually are legally allowed to ask for). Notified by their customer support that the EU card is not legitimate (???), and that they had to see ALL FOUR CORNERS of the bank statement to accept it (It was folded in half, address and name details visible on top), plus all the details on the payment card. Absolutely absurd, and incredibly invasive way to simply prove age and address, they are clearly just data phishing and I have decided to just dump my winnings with them as I cannot unlock my account now. SCAM SCAM SCAM”

“after having used other sites like Tropicana and Golden Nugget, I tried Betfair and what a disaster. I hit and requested a withdrawal and that's when the issues started. they said it taked 3 to 5 business days to clear...yet remarkably it only takes them seconds to approve my deposits. i'll never use them again because the other sites really don't give a hassle when making a withdrawal.”

“The exchange is good,but the Sportsbook is a complete waste of time. the other day I tried to place a bet and was allowed 18p. Why you continue this baffles everybody. Betfair/ Paddy Power are supposed to be the strongest bookmakers in Britain or even the world so please get your fingers out or discontinue this service as it an embarrassment to you!”

“Received information regarding my account by email, no explanation was given. I sent two emails to your customer service department for feedback with no acknowledgement or response from yourselves. Will not use account as I have in the past and will continue to use other exchanges more than I do this one. I presume that I'll receive no response from this either - not great service to say the least”

“Either the founders are doing illegal activities on site to make sure they can not lose or they've worked out a way to make sure you can not win legally. Either way do not waste your money and trust this site. Skybet/Skyvegas Is 1000% better. The owners are nowhere near as greedy. Betfair has been running 2/3 years longer than sky and somehow paid out £2/300 million less. That says it all. I also won a football bet which somehow magically disappeared and when i spoke to betfair they told me to prove it knowing full well there was no way i could prove it unless i print screened my bet, how greedy can you get. DO NOT TRUST THIS SITE. SKYBET/SKYVEGAS/SKYCASINO IS A MILLION TIMES BETTER! SKY ARE FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS. BETFAIR ARE FOR THEMSELVES!”

“I feel like I have just been cheated!!!! I got an £5 bonus to play bingo, from that I won £52, I continued to play and was down to £45, then the amount vanished from my account.... Emailed to query this and was told to bet a further £9.03 to unlock the "bonus". That turned out was incorrect info. Winnings from a bonus are in their words a "bonus" and therefore I needed to bet a minimum of £20 to unlock any bonus's. At no stage did I get an email saying or contact to say you need to have bet a minimum amount or that the winnings from a bonus bet would be lost. I suggest DO NOT use Betfair, sign up with Coral or another provider.”
