I cannot report on the hamper as I asked for it to be delivered to my step daughter on or soon after 21st December However I would ask that the orderiform on the net shows clearly where to put the card details as I am not a n experton the PC and had to get a friend to find out if the order was being dealt with we ranng ang got the order through and was able to pay by card. I think a lot of elderly folk find this helpful to be able to shop this way but it has to be simple to do so!! P Bates

If you had told me WHICH of your websites I had ordered from, I might have been able to write a review. Although none of the ones I used were easy - it has taken me the best part of 4 days to order four of the five hampers I want to send. Bee

Hi Matthew. We are so very sorry for the one day delay. As you are aware the delivery company's lorry broke down, which affected a number of consignments. We were working as quickly as possible to notify affected customers as soon as we became aware of the situation, but the time zone difference in Australia meant you called us before we had time to notify you that morning. The notes on your account show that a credit has been applied to your account, which entitles you to free delivery should you place an order in the future - the details have been sent in an email. We sincerely apologise for the delivery delay, and very much hope that you provide us with the opportunity to illustrate that a delivery delay is not indicative of a normal shopping experience with Basketsgalore. I though the choice and selection was good the only thing I found disappointing was that I was unaware how much the delivery would be until the end and as I was ordering within a budget for my company I went over it so will probably not use this site again, I realise I could have gone back and deducted things but that would have left little in the basket. Perhaps you could make it clearer in the beginning what the delivery costs will be. Thanks dj

Hi Debra. Thank you very much for your feedback. We are so disappointed to hear that the next day delivery charge means you might not shop with us again, especially as you seemed to really like our product and service. As such I hope you don't mind if I explain that we don't make any profit on the delivery rates, we actually subsidise them. Courier companies charge by volumetric weight and size, and as are Gift Baskets are big and heavy we get charged a lot for an overnight delivery service. You mentioned not knowing the price of delivery before it was too late. We do have a delivery page which displays all our prices which can be accessed from the the top of every page, however I will pass your comments onto our web development team Thank you again for taking the time to provide us with feedback Debra, and we very much hope we can be of service to you in the future.

I'd enjoy shopping more if you'd offer the option to buy the basket with/without alcohol since I found ones that I like but I couldn't buy them for that reason I also suggest giving the option of making your own basket (choosing the basket and the contents)

Dear Najla, Thank you very much for your comments. Just wanted to let you know that we have all baskets available with no alcohol in it on our website, majority of our basket doesn't include wine. As well, we do have a create your own option on our website (http://createyourowngiftbasket.co.uk/). Decent site which works well with one exception. Irish addresses generally don't have postcodes. So not to allow me to move on without entering a post code when there is no valid post code to enter is plain frustrating. I twice went back to the start trying to find a workaround to what I thought was a glitch then had to call the company. Result: something that should have been fun and taken ten minutes was a drag and took half an hour. Not good.

The pictures look so good but when the basket arrived for my brother birthday it was wrapped nicely didn't look as good as the prices

Hi Farhet, thank you for your feedback. We were sorry to hear you were disappointed with the value, despite liking the presentation. I can see you actually created your own fruit gift basket, and so wouldn't have seen a picture at the time of purchase. When we photograph the standard fruit baskets for the website some of the fruit is out on display, whereas to ship the basket all the fruit needs to be securely packaged inside the basket, sometimes in 2 or 3 layers & so perhaps that is why you thought it looked less. Please be assured we always include the fruit advertised and usually also upgrade it with seasonal fruits too or complimentary items. In this case you received complimentary nut mix & sun-dried blueberries. We even included your gift basket photo on the Daily Dispatches blog as it looked so yummy. The website provided a delivery slot for when the basket will be delivered. Although I received an email to say my order has been dispatched, the basket was not delivered on the selected delivery date and 2 days after dispatch. This order was a surprise for a friend, despite the delay she thouroughly enjoyed it.

Hi Alia, thank you for your feedback. I have looked into this for you and can see we dispatched the gift on time to meet your preferred delivery date, but unfortunately it was sent to the wrong depot by the delivery company & so was delivered the next day instead. You had selected the standard delivery option of 2-3 working days, but we had upgraded it to a next day service so this meant it was still delivered within the time frame. I ordered a baby girl gift basket for my friends in the Channel Islands. Although I'm quite happy that the basket arrived on time and in good condition, it did not include the gift card that I ordered . My friends were left baffled as to whom the gift came from and resorted to social media to determine who sent it to them. I'm quite disappointed that it did not include the gift card with our requested text.

Hi Jasmin, thank you for your comments. We're pleased to hear you & your friends were happy with the baby gift basket, but disappointed to hear the gift card was missing. I have checked your order and can see your message was detached from your order form & sent to warehouse with a gift card. In this particular case the gift card was located in a plastic pocket on the outside of the delivery carton, behind the delivery paperwork. I can only think that perhaps this somehow became detached when going through Customs, as the delivery was to the Channel Islands. Nonetheless we apologise that it was missing, We also just wanted to clarify that our gift baskets are delivered in branded BasketsGalore boxes which have our website and telephone number on. This is so the recipient can easily get in touch with us if they need to regarding their gift. If your friends had been in touch we would have happily checked the message for them & offered to post another gift card out. I was pleased with the website and offerings, though the prices did seem a bit high. Checking out was less pleasurable. It would be nice to have a guest checkout option, for people who prefer not to register an account. Registration seemed to take too long, with some repeat steps necessary (entering the same address or post code twice). Shipping rates seem unusually high (but I am a US customer, so this may just be a national difference). Also could have used more space on the personal note. Overall, still happy with my purchase.

Basket was purchased as a gift so I won't find out how good/bad/indifferent it was u till after Christmas. But , will definitely let you know. I have to say that your hampers appeared to be the only ones with proper food in them. Not really into oat biscuits so smoked salmon and ham sounded goof

Product ordering process was fine. Delivery was bad. Didn't leave on doorstep so won't be delivered on birthday now. Delivery guy called to say he wasn't in the area anymore and there was nothing he could do about it. Very unfriendly person. I would pay extra to work with a decent delivery company.

Hi Jonathan, thank you for your feedback. We were sorry to hear you were unhappy with the delivery. Unfortunately all 3rd party couriers require a signature for deliveries. We do try to point this out at various stages on our website to avoid any disappointment. If the recipient is not at home a calling card is left so as they can rearrange delivery on a convenient date. We also track all deliveries and get in touch with recipients to offer assistance. I will certainly pass your comments onto the delivery company used in this instance regarding the driver. but unfortunately once they have left the area they parcel is taken back to a local depot. We have alternative couriers too so could send any future parcels your order with them. We could also ask them in advance if you can give permission for the gift to be left with a neighbour perhaps? Simply pop us an email through after you place an order and we can request this. Thanks again for the feedback and we trust the gift was enjoyed. The BG Team

I was very disappointed with the delivery time was supposed to be there on the 5th for my parents anniversary and did not arrive until today the 9th in the afternoon. I had hoped that they would be able to celebrate in style with their basket as we are in the United States and can't be there to celebrate with them. Maybe DHL was the problem not sure but as I said I was very disappointed with the delivery.

Hello Janice, thank you for your comments. We were sorry to read that you were disappointed with the delivery aspect of our service. Unfortunately there was an original delay for all freight in the UK due to an emergency landing by a passenger jet at East Midlands Airport (the central freight hub). We had emailed to explain & apologise for this delay, but unfortunately it was out of our hands. This affected your Friday delivery and then came the weekend, when the couriers do not operate, and so delivery was scheduled for the next working day -Monday. Unfortunately a further delay was then experienced due to an incorrect flat number being supplied on your order form. My colleagues worked quickly to update you on the original delay and to then get in touch with the recipients when they saw DHL were having difficulties delivering on the Monday due to “address information being needed”. Perhaps you did not receive our communication and so were not aware of the circumstances? My colleagues then supplied DHL with the correct address after speaking with the recipients, and rescheduled the delivery for the next available day (Tuesday). We just wanted to let you know that we had been working hard to get your gift delivered as soon as possible and that unfortunately the delays were out of our and DHL’s hands on this occasion. We take care to monitor all deliveries during the year, as well as supplying our customers with tracking details for their gifts. We trust the recipients were still able to enjoy their gift basket and that we have gone some way to explain the reasons behind the unusual delivery delay. Thanks again for your feedback and allowing us the chance to explain. We hope to be of service to you again in the near future. Thank you.
