That said, bathrooms on a boat are always on the small side - unless you are lucky enough to be on a proper gin palace !
“We have had Holidays for a few years with you staying in the cottages and also boats; we have received lovely hampers when booking, this year we went with a different company as what we would have liked with you was not available and we didn't have a great experience with breakdowns that were avoidable had checks been carried out sufficiently.
We have booked this for next year and my daughter and her partner have also made a booking with one of your boats too.
We won't go elsewhere anymore š”

“Our boat was very tired and old but it got us around ok. Handover was ok but we didnāt get told about where the water tank was. As we have been canal boating before we worked it out but novices may not have. Reception staff were quite abrupt when we asked for towels as we thought we had paid for them but were told that they were only provided on elite boats. They agreed to give us some but were quite dismissive about it. Thankfully the lady who gave us the towels was very friendly when she brought them out to us so that made up for it. The Broads were very busy despite being out of school holidays and moorings were at a premium. Wouldnāt return and not sure if weād use this company again.”

Thank you for sharing your feedback. You were on one of our older boats, which are kept at a lower price point but still maintained to get you around safely. Weāre sorry the handover didnāt include pointing out the water tank ā weāll remind our team to cover this, as itās especially important for first-time hirers.
On towels, weāre clear on our own website that they are only included with our Elite boats, but it sounds like you may have booked through a third-party supplier, and weāll check they are conveying this message clearly. Weāre glad our team member was able to help get some to you in the end.
September is as busy as August on the Broads, and moorings outside popular pubs do get very full. Itās often worth using the mooring app to find quieter spaces a short walk from the pub, which can make for a more relaxing evening stop.

Thank you for your feedback. Ultima 2 is one of our older āno-frillsā boats, but everything on board should still work as expected ā weāre sorry this wasnāt the case for you. Please remember our engineers are on call and happy to come out and put things right during your trip. Weāll also remind our team to make sure the onboard handover covers essentials like heating more thoroughly.
We were a little surprised by your comments about the boatyard facilities, as most of our customers donāt use these while away on their holiday. That said, weāll take your points on board and review how clearly we explain whatās available. Weāre pleased to hear our reception team looked after you well, and we do hope youāll consider trying one of our newer boats next time.

“The boat is a little tired, locks sticky, top hatch didnāt lock and Iāll fitting. Shower didnāt drain and a couple of other small things, noisy pump and sticking table. Didnāt ruin the holiday but would have been nice if they worked.”
